Project Overview
THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ANIMATIC IN THE BEGINNING. I WILL BE DOING STILL FRAME LIKE STUFF/mixed with some animation. As I get better at animation and we get more of a fanbase, hopefully that along with donations will help me pull on some additional animators.

Hi! So after navigating this site I've absolutely fallen in love with it and how it works and how friendly people are on here. Everyone is so supportive of fellow voice actors and the competition is fierce but people upvote to show such support and it's great in general. Now I've had some scripts sitting on their asses for a few YEARS because I always thought I needed college first bla bla bla. Well now I know I DON'T. I am a budding animator (So my animations will start out as pictures) and I love to draw. I'm 20 and I'm an aspiring animator who wants to run and handle my own studio one day. My goal is to rival Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks. Mostly Dreamworks because their stuff is very diverse. I do like Disney but there are things I want to address that I know Disney isn't quite ready to yet. (no fault to them, they have to take into consideration many factors to the topics they cover.) I am a screenwriter, a novelist in the making, I enjoy long walks on the beach, yaoi, yuri, anything cute really that involves two people with a dynamic relationship not just sexual desire because that gets old quick. I am an OPEN MINDED INDIVIDUAL so I love this opportunity to meet fellow people like me. I speak with wierd outdated words(ha!) and I enjoy darkness and no parents. (Just Kidding, Batman.) I'm happy to talk in private with anyone with questions, interest, or in general wanna hang bruh?

YES I put the amount as a bit high. (If I take on additional animators I had to take in a realistic idea of costs to take on 1 or 2 additional animators. If there is anyone willing to work for free and virtual hugs who wants to see this flourish into something profitable, by all means, step right up but otherwise I need to raise money that both pays as well as covers the funds that go into making this. Don't worry. This is gonna get animated one way or another :-) But it would help make things go quicker to take on an animator or two. THanks all!

I will have a Youtube channel. My goal is to get revenue from the youtube channel, and then use kickstarter to better fund both my production quality as well as my voice actors! For right now it is unpaid simply because I AM A BROKE COLLEGE STUDENT-- BUT, I can promise you that if you stick it out, you will gain experience (I know I will) , you will meet cool voice actors, have something ORIGINAL to add to your reel, and see this little garage starting animation company, hopefully blossom into something that will bear fruit of our loins--I mean labor one day! I'm seriously stoked.
For now... patience and time but in the future, good things come to those who can wait! And honestly, in the future I promise I plan to pay the voice actors back for their hard work and contribution to my projects.
With that being said. SOME DARK THEMES COME INTO PLAY: SUICIDE, PROSTITUTION, if any of these things trigger you DO NOT AUDITION. It's mostly just mention by mouth/flashback, but you've been warned. Josh's past is a bit fucked up, just warning you now.

Because this is a SERIOUS project and I do expect to get an influx of auditions, I won't be able to comment on every one of them as I am getting busier with stuff so, from now on, if I comment it will be only if I like where you're going with a voice but you may need some direction.
I've extended the deadline for applications to November 10th to give time for me to add more roles as I work on the 1st season scripts: First 13 episodes. After the pilot takes off, and funds start to come in, I will have a better idea of how much to pay each actor based on importance of character, how many lines are given, and the costs that go overall into paying my joyful motly crew! DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF CHARACTERS (MAJOR) GET CAST EARLIER, I AM STARTING THIS WHEN I FEEL IT IS TIME AND I HAVE FOUND THE RIGHT VOICE FOR MY LEAD ROLES.
November 10th is also my birthday so I would be thrilled to have that do go awesomely as I officially close auditions forSEASON 1 and get started on getting those episodes started rolling. I hope you all learn something in the long haul as this isn't just about money but experience, connections, and a passion for bringing life to new characters and worlds they reside in for everyone to enjoy.

If you don't hear from me it is probably because your audition is FINE so there will be no need to worry that I didn't point something out. I will only give pointers to those who I feel have the general idea but may just need that extra nudge to give them a level chance as everyone else.
-THERE IS SWEARING and darker themes in some parts of this *now* web series. Please keep in mind if you are a minor that I don't want your parents breathing down my neck because I introduced you as a character who may have by chance been a prostitute or something. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE AUDITIONING.
- If I cast you it is with the expectation that unless it is an emergency of unique nature, that I will be upset if you bail on me halfway through this project or at any time. I want at least a heads up AT LEAST 3 days in advance. If it's something immediate that is negotiable then that is fine. BUT DO NOT ABANDON THIS. IF you are doing this, make sure you have the time.

Project #1:
Let's Play a Game.
This short screenplay is about a boy who is a smart strategist. He has help from his female companion. They're very close. They meet when he is alone in middleschool and teased for being different. She begins to play chess with him. Soon he enters tournaments. He's one of the best chess players. When they win the championship, he learns the truth about the Girl. She was actually a ghost that had attached herself to him. She had been supposed to win the previous year's championship but she had died before the opportunity arose. He helped her come to peace by being her friend and Chess Partner. As he lets her go, he meets her little brother and ends up teaching him chess. She was his first love. Flash forward. He has a wife and two kids. Her brother comes over and they play chess. She watches over him, smiling. He became confident and he isn't the same boy she had met all those years ago who didn't have self confidence in himself.
[I am thinking of actually turning this into a short web series. The episodes will run 23 minutes.] As I said, starting out, I will most likely do still images, and IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO ANIMATE AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP ANIMATE THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Missing Some Main Characters still-First Script written.
I still need to hear back from the Riddleton parents of Matt, Mr. Damon, and Fae Darcy. If this is you, and you have not roll called yet to skype, please let me know. I have started the animation process but I need to be able to distribute lines to make progress. If for whatever reason you can no longer be a part of this ongoing project,you'll need to let me know that now because if you're involved I expect commitment only because that is what the base agreement is in the first place. For all who have been loyal to this project thank you! I am excited to get going on this. Due to my old computer having issues, I have temporarily been unable to do animation. Hey everyone. Thank you for your patience. Work and school is very busy but in December I will be free! I have written the script but I will animate based on the emotion from your lines. Everyone cat won't be appearing in the very first episode but pay attention to updates. I have made all my decisions for the time being and will add more cast members as the storyline progresses. Matt is a 16 year old champion of chess. He is a great strategist but his social skills suck simply because he has low self-esteem and it comes from bullying but also the disconnect of family in his home life. Since this is a "short" I can't go too deeply into that but if this piece gets a lot of attention, I can make it longer. Anyways, his voice is medium-high. NO DEEP voices. Girls are welcome to try for his role as well! He's smart, but he's also gentle and he cries easily which frustrates him since he wants to prove he's tough enough now to handle himself. He doesn't understand the concept of love but he feels it when he meets Clarice.
You have to be able to cry realistically for him.

Anthea is sweet. She doesn't like to get angry and her first reaction to a fight situation is to freeze up. She wants to be able to stand up for herself but everytime she tries she finds that she can't. Her biggest struggle is her low self-esteem. Her father died when she was little and her mother does her best to be there but Anthea knows that a good education is the best thing that her mother hopes will help Anthea go forward with her life. However, Anthea has a secret. She wants to sing. Her dreams to be a singer are constantly battling with her mother's wishes for her to become something at a big University (like Doctor, Lawyer etc.)
I like chess...but I'm not very good at it

Chanelle Arkins is one of Matt's classmates. She's very smart but she tends to come off as cold because she hates feeling like being nice will make her vulnerable. A cool -headed individual, she's always at odds with Josh and the two have an interesting dynamic. (No, I'm trying not to ship them,) She likes to be right and when she's not she actually doesn't have a melt down. She just takes life in stride. She keeps up to date with fashion, social media, and her biggest fear is being left behind so she obsesses over the latest trends. Her biggest flaw is that she doesnt' know how to stop and smell the roses.

Making Matt cry is his drug. Josh is struggling. He's a bit like an anti-hero. He is rough and gruff but his voice is actually not TOO terribly deep. Medium to medium-high is fine for him. NO DEEP voices as he is a TEENAGER RIGHT NOW and kinda gangly. He's not a stereotypical "jock" either so please, don't make him sound like he's super dumb. He's not. He just has a lot of pent up rage because of his backstory which involves in essence, his mother was in a shady business and ended up being murdered when he was 5. He wasn't there at the time but his alchoholic father spilled those beans one day when Josh was 10 and his father mistook Josh for his dead wife because of Josh's features were more like his mother's. Because of this, Josh found himself wierded out by his father's growing fascination with him. His father one day hangs himself and Josh comes home to that. Now known as the "cursed" kid because of rumors, people are typically afraid that if they get too close, they'll also die. Josh has some "thug" friends but they mostly stick to him for protection more than actual friendship.

Molly is an energetic young girl. She enjoys teasing her tutor, Matt, and often bugs him to play chess with her. She gets frustrated easily because she doesn't see things the way he does when it comes to strategy. Her dream is to become an idol and she often sings her own made up songs. Her dream is to be an actress/singer.
Matt often babysits her for her busy father who is a bit close as old friends to Matt's mother.
She has a sweet voice. She's energetic. I leave this open though to interpretation. I will note that her voice has darker moments as she is fighting her inner "demons" which try to put her down. Her friendship with Matt, Clarice, Chanelle, and Anthea, help her cope with her negativity.
She also has a secret: She can see ghosts. She knows Clarice is one but she makes no mention to point this out showing that this child-like personality perhaps is more mature than she initially appears.

*inner monologue*
Life is fleeting. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter what you are. Death takes. I didn't want to lose Papa. I don't think anyone did. The adults tell me he just had an "accident". I knew the truth though. He's not coming back...is he? Maybe...a part of Papa didn't want to come back to me and Mama.
(she looks to Matt walking away with Clarice, talking animatedly if not looking lively and irritated at how she giggles and skips ahead of him. Molly lowers her arm from waving them off. Her expression is hard to read)
I knew it from the moment I met her. She's different. She wants to stay. I can feel it. Her energy, her aura. It resonates with his. They are connected... I want to say something. But how can I? (she hugs herself as they round the corner. her smile slides off her face. She sinks to her knees, lookingat the ground, her eyes water. The tears spill over.) How can I be so cruel? If I break this magic spell, then the clock will strike twelve, won't it? I don't want Mr. Matt to lose his Cinderella.
I don't want to do this anymore! Let's play a game! Play with me! (Matt tells her to focus on the tutoring) You're no fun! I hope you go bald!

Open to Interpretation. He's aloof and easy going but he has a certain air of authority at times. Most students respect him and those that try to be rude often get smartly smacked down by his wit. He is attractive as well and gets many stares from the ladies (and sometimes guys) and he is a bisexual confident mofo who isnt' afraid to voice his opinion. He cares a lot about his students and his class subject. He gains an interest in helping Matt and Josh stop fighting and often acts as their mediator. He also encourages the both of the boys in their own ways to grow as individuals. In a wierd way, he's like a guru but mostly he's just awesome.

Fae is a chess prodigy. He has been playing since he was five and has won many medals. As a champion at a young age and being super smart, his high I.Q. unfortunately makes him socially impaired. Now he is 18, and Mr. Damon his legal guardian(reasons to be revealed later) thinks that being around kids his own age range may help him come out of his shell. Fae's biggest problem is his ego and his need to be #1. He is especially hard on Matt because Matt is the only one who can possibly beat him. When Matt does beat him with Clarice's help, the humiliation makes Fae determined to make sure Matt fails at all costs so he cannot enter the school's major tournament that Mr. Damon wants to host.
I'll be overlooking all of you in this little girl scouts club you got going on, so you better listen up. Rule number 1, you do what I say. Rule number 2, no stupid questions. Rule number 3, go back to rule number 1. Any questions? (Josh snarks) I said no stupid questions, that goes for you, Joshua.

Slivie is a senior attending Matt's highschool. She is reminded of her youthful ticker and this makes her bitter towards those who are younger than her. She prides herself in being mature and doesn't realize that she is still very much immature. She is insecure about her future because she doesn't know what she wants to do with herself. She was on the path to be a lawyer because she wanted to change things and believes strongly in justice but she finds comfort in her stories and her writing. Her home life is posh as her parents are both lawyers and it was expected that she'd take up their practice one day alongside them.
Slivie learns that black and white just isn't the colors she wants to paint her canvas anymore. Her voice is up to interpretation. I'm looking at how you bring her character to life. What voice do you think her picture fits? :-)
Ah... I believe your bishop just got creamed by my fair lady. (she moves her Queen to take Matt's bishop to his horror) don't assume you know everything, kiddo, you'll only dissapoint yourself.

It's my final year here. (she is scared of the future, and the unknown.) I've spent 4 years here. Now that's going to change. I'm no longer that little girl that came in with all the time in the world in her hands. This year with everyone.... I never thought that I'd miss it. This place.
