Kaldheim - Brokenbrow
Project Overview
Wizards of the Coast has begun releasing online web fiction for Magic: the Gathering once again! It is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
This week we are casting for roles in the Kaldheim story Brokenbrow. Kaldheim is their brand new norse inspired world and we have many major roles to cast. You can read the stories here:

We are looking to keep up with the release of Wizards' stories as best as possible and will release our version the second following Friday, so expect to be cast this week and have your lines to me within a few days. This schedule may be slightly different for the time being as they are releasing two stories a week, but our schedule will remain one a week.
As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

Despite being the subject of our story, Arni Brokenbrow doesn't have many lines. He's the perfect combination of cunning, strong, and hard-headed that he can smile in the face of certain death and know he'll come out on top. Arni is the leader of the Tuskeri clan and leads them well through battle after battle, defying death and expectations every time.
"Watch this." [literally bragging to the valkyrie waiting for him to die]
"You're the lot that've been raiding up and down the ridge. Now, I've got a whole army of berserkers out there, ready to tear your heads off, but I figured I'd give you a chance to settle this a different way. A headbutting contest."
"Where's the fun in that, Tover? Though being honest, all this seems like a lot of trouble. Surely you've gotten lost and pissed somewhere you shouldn't have before." [knowing he's about to have to fight but seeing if he can get out of it]
An elderly dwarven storyteller, now spending his afterlife in Starnheim, the Kaldheim equivalent of Valhalla. Described as having a "grandfatherly ring" to his tales. Casting here depends especially on your narration.
"Njala! What an unexpected honor it is, this—this honor."
One fateful day, deep in the Tusk mountains, word spread of a scourge of murderous trolls, terrorizing villages all along the Red Ridge. Now, the Tuskeri, being who they were, couldn't have been more pleased at the news. Trolls meant danger, and danger meant a chance at daring, and daring meant an opportunity to make your name. Of all the Tuskeri warriors saddling up to hunt trolls—for there were many indeed—it happened to be a small band, led by none other than Arni Goatleaper, who began their search on the very slope in which the trolls had made their den.
"Aye," he said to the surprised faces and gaping tusked mouths staring at his sudden arrival. "You're the lot that've been raiding up and down the ridge. Now, I've got a whole army of berserkers out there, ready to tear your heads off, but I figured I'd give you a chance to settle this a different way. A headbutting contest," he proposed, grinning. "Loser packs up and leaves these mountains forever."
Njala is a valkyrie, a shepherd specifically, who takes the souls who die honorably and whisks them away to Starnheim for an afterlife of feasting. Throughout the story she encounters Arni Brokenbrow and becomes fascinated with him as he never seems to die, even becoming a fan by the end.
"What's he doing? He'll never die a worthy death just, just tying knots."
"This is it. This must be. An honor duel with that? Brokenbrow's death has finally—finally—found him."
"Fight bravely! Yes! Be courageous and heroic and actually die this time!"
Alajn is a valkyrie, a reaper specifically, tasked with taking the souls who die cowardly deaths. She accompanies her sister Njala to any battle.
"There. That's their new leader. Arni Brokenbrow, they call him. Great warrior, great gambler, great drinker by all accounts."
"It seems that your favorite human lives to fight another day." [bemused]
"Njala, it's an honor duel."
[Njala] "But—"
"And even if it wasn't, we are Valkyries. It is not our place to intercede in the affairs of mortals. You know this."
[stopping her sister from interfering in a fight]
