Honeybee: Original Cartoon
Project Overview
Honeybee is the working title of a project I've been working on for a few years now. This audition is for the CONCEPT VIDEO ONLY, which will hopefully lead into a pilot episode, and an eventual series. The audition lines will be the only lines your character has, though you may be contacted later on for more lines if the series is able to continue.
"In an Earth much like our own, Will, a girl with the power to speak to bugs, discovers a secret related to the recent disappearance of bees and other pollinating insects worldwide. She sets off with a few friends, bug and human alike, to solve the mystery and save the bees. Along the way, she makes many new friends and has new experiences. However, it isn’t long before they discover that the bees’ disappearance isn’t as natural as once thought. An organization from another world, led by another person with the power to speak to and control bugs, is stealing the bees in order to resurrect their own home. Using their various skills and powers, Will and her friends must stop this organization before the Earth is destroyed."
When auditioning, please be sure to have good audio quality. This is very important, as having audio quality below my standards will automatically disqualify you from the role.
If you are cast, you will have two weeks to send in your lines. Please keep this in mind when auditioning.

A bee whose wing has been damaged and can no longer fly. She speaks with a soft, somewhat melancholic voice.

(angry) It's not my fault! I didn't choose for all this to happen! I didn't choose any of this! I just--I just want to go home!
Please only audition for Jan if you are trans/nb! Jan is a trans boy and I don't feel comfortable having a cis person play him. Thanks! :)
Jan is a strange boy who follows Will and her friends around for a while. He seems a bit silly, since he doesn't quite grasp many concepts of human society. He speaks with a medium to medium-high voice. (Jan's name is pronounced "Yawn")
(defensive) Fang! No! I'm just fine watching from a distance! No, hiding in bushes is NOT creepy! And you have no right to talk, anyway!
(excited) Haha! Yeah, enforcing your Will! Get it? Because your NAME is Will? That's so funny!
(confused) A...hamburger? No, but I smelled someone cooking them before! They smelled really good. (getting distracted by the food offered to him) Just...like these ones do...mmm....
I would much prefer for Mar to be voiced by a Black person!
Mar is a young prodigy who joins Will and friends on their journey. She has a higher-pitched, childlike voice, but she shouldn't sound cutesy or overly-feminine.
(getting exasperated) Look. I'm good at what I do. REALLY good. But that doesn't mean I want to be treated like some kind of...I don't know! I just--I'm not perfect. And I wish that they could see that.
(angry) Get back here and brush your teeth! I'm not dealing with your smelly wild-boy breath anymore!
(light laughter) That...was actually pretty funny, I'll give you that.
A wolf who is much like Jan's older sister. She's rather deadpan most of the time, sounding slightly sarcastic and without much excess emotion. She speaks with a medium-high to high voice.
(Jan is pronounced "Yawn")
(sighs) Would you just go talk to them? You're being creepy, hiding in the bushes and watching them all the time.
(eager) Jan! Go right! Okay, now jump! Good!
(angry) Don't talk to me that way! You think that just because you've helped me in the past, that I owe you something? I never asked for your help! I owe you nothing!
