This project is based off the Harvest Moon series and will be focusing mainly on Animal Parade and Tree of Tranquility. We follow our main character Jamie who's Uncle passed away last fall and left her his entire ranch. Jamie comes to the island of Castanet and discovers that a divine tree which once stood in the middle of the Harvest Goddess' pond has begun to weaken, the creatures are beginning to leave the island, and the five bells have lost their power. Only the strength of the Harvest King can revive the earth and bring the tree back to life, but he is nowhere to be found. Jamie and her companion Finn must ring the five bells, bring the Harvest King back to the island, and help revive the Goddess' Tree, while at the same time running her Uncles ranch and maintain a social life with the villagers on the island!
Harvest Moon A New Life is going to be a visual novel series uploaded to YouTube. We are looking for people who can stay on the project for a long term and wont drop us. Please have little to no background noise in the audition you give us. You also must have Discord and be at least 16 to audition. All of this is non funded and we will be gaining no financial profit from it. This is strictly for fun and the passion to create something amazing! As of now we are still in the editing phase and will be taking quite a long time to get things drawn and set up but having the voices for this project helps a lot so we need people ASAP!

The Narrator of this audio novel will help with the in between parts of dialogue explaining what's happening. We would like a mature sounding voice but not too serious and is able to sound relaxing to the listener.
Her bags sit next to her as she kicks her feet up gently in the air. The letter her Uncle gave her is in her hand as she raises her arm up holding it to the light over her face.
A small pudgy man stumbles towards Jamie and Cain waving enthusiastically.
Jamie is a new rancher to the land of Castanet and our Main Character. She is a little reserved and easily lead around by others. She is thoughtful and kind hearted and wants to help revive the land of Castanet back to its former glory. Her voice is a fairly normal female voice so put some of your own personality into it. Make this character be you!
“I remember coming up here when I was a child and seeing the farm. I loved it. The smell of the flowers, the cute animals, just the whole lifestyle interested me. I guess I want to see that again.”
“You leave this to me. I promise to help you as much as I possibly can.”
[Inner Monologue - Hopeful] “I guess my Uncle really knew what he was doing when he asked me to take this ranch. To think where this place would have been a few years ago if I didn’t take this risk. All the lives that could have been ruined… and non-existent”
Finn is Jamie’s companion. Only Jamie and the Harvest Goddess can see him. He is the 6th Harvest Sprite, but was not given a similar job to those of the other sprites. He often feels he is weak and insignificant that he does not have a bell of his own, and tries his best to prove himself to the Harvest Goddess. His voice is high pitch and cute.
“Hey! I’m a Harvest Sprite! Not a… pixie. I mean… I hope to be a more important one some day…”
[Sighs romantically] “Elli~ so beautiful~”
[Concerned] “Harvest Goddess! I’m here! Please, wake up!”
Jamie's Uncle passed away last fall but will be having important talking points through the story to help Jamie move along on her path. I need a man with an older voice that sounds humble and caring.
"...it is not easy to leave behind such a large responsibility to any of the caring folk in Harmonica Town. My family and loved ones all have lives of their own, and are quite content with where they have ended up."
"I know however, that my youngest niece, Jamie Gardiner, has been the only one to show any substantial evidence of interest in my beloved Whispering Ranch. I know through all the short summers and holidays she has come to visit me, she is the only one capable of running such a laborious job."
Chase is considered the best chef in the town. He cooks at the Brass Bar at night and is very critical of any other people's cooking, especially Maya's. Although a seemingly brutally honest and bitter individual, Chase will show a softer side when Jamie befriends him. He has purple eyes that are full of intrigue, paired with a charming smile, and yet has sarcastic sense of humor.
"Are you serious about your ranch? I look forward to trying your products. It's not like there was much to start with anyway"
"Jamie, you're so kind to everyone... I bet you're talking to all sorts of guys... That makes me feel blue."
"I like to cook. But it's not that I want to become a chef or anything. I like to try out new ideas... it's refreshing."
Gill is the serious and career minded future mayor. When his father, Hamilton was unable to find a solution to the town's problems, Gill left Castanet to find a solution of his own. Besides working hard to improve Castanet's condition, Gill also appreciates the finer things in life. Well read, and well dressed, Gill is a very sophisticated man.
"I love this place, I was born and raised here. I hope it always remains so beautiful. That's why I try to do my best for my hometown... It's so important to me."
"Just seeing you talk to another man is painful...Sometimes, I wish you wouldn't see anyone else but me...I can't believe some of the things I say sometimes. Forget I said anything."
"I take my time with you for granted. I should appreciate it more."
Castanet's only doctor, Jin works at the clinic in Harmonica Town with his grandmother Irene. Jin often expresses worry about Jamie’s health when she talks to him, as he doesn't want to see her at the Clinic. He prefers healthy foods and cares about others, especially those that are important to him. His voice is rather strict sounding.
“I’ve heard a lot about you Jamie. I’m Jin, a doctor here. Or at least… the only doctor right now. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Well… I enjoy being cared for, but your medicine’s a bit… sour.”
“It’s important to take care of yourself… Your Uncle had excellent health last spring. I don’t know how it went downhill so quickly….. S-Sorry I shouldn’t be talking like that.”
Flashy and fashionable, Julius specializes in making accessories with Mira at Koto Accessories. He is cheerful and always smiling even when his boss Mira is grieving and cannot work. Always cheerful, has a big heart for those he cares about and is one to wear his emotions on his FASHIONABLE sleeve. His Voice is very flamboyant but not too high and more deep.
"This was my boss' baby.... I can't just give it away like that. Maybe If Mira would just come and see how dead this place is... she'll want to come back."
"Hmm... Now that you're here, I'm kind of at loss for words... This is the first time thinking about someone has kept me from sleeping"
"I've always liked you! Always! That's why I went searching for the Blue Feather to Propose to you!!"
Luke is an enthusiastic and full-of-life carpenter who works at Cornet Carpentry. He's very passionate about his work, always striving to impress his father. Luke's dream is to one day become a master carpenter. He's very energetic, humorous, and kind. He always has a very positive outlook on life.
"Yo! What's up? I didn't think I'd run into anyone else in this crazy place! I don't think we've met... wait... yeah no we haven't"
"No no no...[sigh] look... I'm breaking out, my heart's pounding, I'm sweating... Should I go to the clinic?"
"Well I guess there really is no cure.... let's get married!"
Owen is the hard working apprentice blacksmith working under his grandfather Ramsey at his shop in the Garmon Mines District. He's built strength from digging for ores, and loves to lift weights when he's not working. He's protective of his cousin Chloe, and has a big heart with a soft and caring attitude. Although he enjoys the outdoors, Owen also likes to relax by going to the Brass Bar in the evenings. His Voice is a typical bro voice and on the deeper side
"Owen is the name, don't wear it out [laughs] You must be the new chick in town. It's real pleasure to meet you."
"You don't seem like the strongest girl but you can sure use a hammer"
"Kathy... I've always been in love with you. Why do you think I come here so often? The drinks are fine and all but you... you're worth every trip all the way down here."
Toby is an avid fishermen with a laid back and positive outlook on life. He lives with his uncle Ozzie and cousin Paolo at the Harmonica Town Fishery. Although Toby isn't technically employed, his interest in fishing is perfect for his family's lifestyle. He not only appreciates the waters around Castanet, but also loves animals and every other aspect of nature. He has a kind and caring personality, and always has something nice to say when you speak to him. His voice is soft spoken.
"Here, you can have my old fishing rod. I'm looking to get a new one anyway. It's not much but I hope you care for it as much as I do"
" [yawns] boy does the rain really make me tired. A nice nap with the rain hitting the window pains would be splendid"
"I never really wanted to venture far. Fishing here in the beautiful nature of Castanet is the perfect way to spend my life I'd say"
A curious and laid back guy, Calvin is always looking for new discoveries. He is a lover of the mine and spends nearly all of his days in Garmon Mine writing notes. He seems to be older than Jamie and the rest of the bachelors. He's a little more anxious to settle down and start a family more than the other men in town, but he approaches love in a romantic and calm manner. He loves a good cocktail, jewels and ores from the mine. Calvin doesn't explain where it is that he comes from originally, but Castanet's mines had him curious and he is here to stay. His Voice is a deeper western cowboy accent.
“Hey there little missy, thought I’d be the only one up here.”
“I thought a lot about whether or not I should tell you this… it might be better if I didn’t, but I can’t hold it in anymore. I like you. I had my reservations about whether our lifestyles mesh, but I really want to know how you feel.”
“These ruins have been here for centuries. Who knows what's waiting inside , behind a rock, right below our feet, or right in front of our noses.”
The Wizard is a quiet recluse who lives alone in his home located in Harmonica Town. He prefers to keep to himself, and never leaves his home. Most of his time is spent looking through his gigantic telescope, conducting research, or gazing through his crystal ball. He has a hard time communicating with and understanding humans. Little is known about the Wizard. His Voice is calm and sounds like he’s hesitant
"Who's there....? I'm busy at the moment... I don't.... want to be bothered..."
"I like to watch the moon when I take my nightly walks..."
"Witches and Wizards don't tell people their names.... It's said that those who know your name.... can control you"
The Harvest King is the supreme god and an overseer. A very busy individual, he has had very little interaction with humans. He will make it very clear that he doesn't understand mortal beings, but finds them interesting. The Harvest King has a very sophisticated way of speaking and never leaves his throne room on top of the mountain. His Voice is very deep and intimidating.
"I am in deep thought at the moment, however... come back later"
"Such trivial things are nothing to me"
"Don't assume human. It's not wise to upset a God."
Maya is the cheerful and rather clumsy waitress at Ocarina Inn. She assists her family, and always strives to please others. Maya has a passion for food, although she cannot cook for herself. After many long and frustrating cooking lessons from Chase that never seemed to work out, Maya decided to eat food instead! With her bottomless stomach, she will happily eat nearly every food item put in front of her. Her Voice is high pitch and energetic somewhat childlike.
“Oh, Granny…. You’re too hard on me… I’m trying my- AH!”
[laugh awkwardly] “Nothing! I’m not doing anything why on earth would you think that??”
“I don’t know Jamie… he just makes my heart skip a thousand beats! I wish he would see the real me instead of just a clumsy horrible cook.”
Unlike her sister Candace, Luna is outgoing and takes charge. Despite her size, Luna is quick to defend her soft spoken older sister. She helps her grandmother Shelly run the family business, and is never shy to speak her mind. Because she is so outspoken, Luna may come off as rude, but she means well. She also has a serious and career driven side. High pitch and sounds like a typical teenage snobby girl.
“WOAH WOAH! Hold on! You can’t come in here yet we aren’t open!”
“Ah, right on time! I’m glad you kept your promise. For once… [giggles] I’m teasing! Gee you don’t have to be so serious all the time you know..”
“HEY! You can’t talk to her like that!! Only I can talk to her like that!!”
Like Jamie, Anissa is also a farmer who specializes in caring for crops. She assists her family at Marimba Farm, and is very family orientated, although she sometimes gets annoyed with her brother's mischief. Anissa is knowledgeable, hard working, and extremely caring. Her voice is Calming and soothing.
“[sigh] It’s hard to remember there is so much more out there then this tiny little town. When I left, nothing felt like home. Nothic felt real. It was like some weird dream.”
“I guess I can help sometimes. It’s not too much trouble. After all, I collect herbs as a hobby and this was it can go to good use.”
“Here, it’s not much… but maybe this will help with some things on the farm. Winter can be a difficult time for any crops.”
Candace is the very shy, but exceptionally beautiful seamstress at Sonata Tailoring. She helps her grandmother Shelly and her sister Luna, who manages the store. Compared to her sister, Candace is the more reserved of the two. Her voice is very shy and quiet.
“I-I don’t know I never… I haven’t…. Nobody has ever t-told me that before… I… Thank you”
“J-Julius has such wonderful fashion… I only hope to make things as beautiful as that someday”
“N-No.. You’re just a little… loud”
Originally a resident of Toucan Island, Selena dreamed of leaving to pursue her love of dancing. After the water is restored, Selena will stow away on a boat to Castanet. She will land her dream job at the Brass Bar, and will live in Harmonica Town permanently. This fiery and sultry maiden loves the sea (almost as much as she loves dancing). Many enjoy Selena's dancing, and she enjoys the spotlight. Her Voice is a little deeper but still feminine.
“I want to DANCE dad…. DANCE!!! This is NOT the ideal place to dance since there is only 2 OTHER PEOPLE ON THIS ISLAND!”
“I…. can’t…. Believe…. I’M…. HERE!!! This is the best! This is like a dream! Am I dreaming? Pinch me i Must be!”
“You liked that don’t you? I have so much more to offer.”
This blonde beauty assists her father Hayden at the Brass Bar. Working as a waitress, she is friends with many of the patrons of the island. She has a keen taste for a lot of foods and drinks. Her fun loving and upbeat personality makes her easily approachable. Her Voice is more mature and energetic.
“Hey! You don’t look too familiar.. Are you just visiting?”
“Two raspberry cocktails coming right up!”
“O-oh him? He’s… strong. And honestly kind of dreamy. But I could never be someone like Selena. I don’t have that kind of body [laughs awkwardly]”
Renee is a amateur rancher, similar to Jamie. She helps her parents, Cain and Hanna, at the family run Horn Ranch. She is passionate about her work, loves the outdoors, and is a lover of all animals. She has a very carefree but caring personality. Her Voice is calming and sweet.
“[out of breath] there’s got to be a better way of doing this…”
“No! No no no you have to brush her like this! Nice and soft and calm… yeah.. That's right! See?”
“[yawn and then giggles a bit] now you’re making me sleepy!”
Phoebe is an adventurous tomboy, and the daughter of Barbara and Simon. Her carefree nature often worries her Father, as well as her tendency to spend hours up in the mines. She is very intelligent, and loves to invent things. She's always looking for an excuse to invent a machine to help others. Her Voice is nerdy.
“Oh that? That’s nothing. I just translated the text over the door way, followed the instructions, disabled the simple traps and got through easy.
“My… dad? Uuuugh when will he stop worrying so much! I know he’s just being caring but I’m practically an adult and I can’t even explore an abandoned temple or two without hearing it for months!”
“I don’t want to go on another adventure… without you.”
The Witch lives in the Fugue Forest, alone in her hut. Getting to her house can be quite the task, as she is in the deepest part of the forest. She can come off as demanding and distrusting towards humans. Because she is a witch, she believes she is above most average humans, but is impressed by Jamies abilities to help her. Her Voice is harsh and sassy.
“SHUT… UP! Stop acting like you know what you’re talking about… you CAN’T! Only I know the Harvest Tree needs and I don’t need ANY of your help!”
“Don’t make me cast a spell on you… AGAIN!”
“I… don’t… I dont know!! Okay!? I just… I don’t know”
The Harvest Goddess is the protector of the land and the Harvest Tree that gives power to all Castanet. She sent Finn to find Jamie’s Uncle and has the utmost faith Jamie will be able to take her Uncles place and help the land. Her Voice is floaty and soothing like music.
“Jamie… Your uncle would be so proud of you. I know he would…. because I am”
“Finn, calm down. We can fix this. Jamie know what she’s doing. I have no doubt in her.”
“You have to play nice for once~ [giggles]”
Perry is the Priest at Castanet and cares deeply about the Harvest Tree. He expresses his concern to Jamie and shows her a lot of helpful information about the land and what she can do to help the Harvest Goddess.
“The Harvest Tree... It doesn't look to good recently. I pray to the Harvest Goddess everyday to help us... but I feel a sense of.. weakness.
"Jamie!? What are you doing here??
Mira is a middle aged woman whose husband recently passed away close to Jamie's Uncles death. Jamie and her are able to connect with this and Jamie is able to convince Mira to go and help Julius at the Jewelry Shop.
“My husband... he past away last summer. I can only imagine what he would be saying about the state of Castanet now.."
"Oh... Julius... yes well, hopefully he will be able to find someone to help him."
Colleen is Maya’s mother and runs a small restaurant in the Ocarina Inn. She also helps her husband run the Inn when she isn’t working as the host at the restaurant.
"Maya please, listen to your grandmother. She's only trying to help you."
"Jamie! Please come by more often. I'm sure there will be a lot of things you and Maya can relate to."
Maya’s father and the owner of the Ocarina Inn. He allows his wife and grandma-in-law to run a restaurant in the inn as well.
"Don't worry, I'll get a room set up for them as soon as possible!"
"We aren't making much money around this time of year. Or the year before. People just.. stopped showing up as much to visit."
Maya’s grandmother and cook at the Ocarina Inn. She often teaches Chase and Maya how to cook things from her glory days and helps Jamie get on her feet with cooking.
"Try mixing it a little more, add the eggs, OH! Don't forget the strawberries!"
"Oh Elli is such a kind dear. You remind me of her a little bit."
Candace and Luna's grandmother and owner of Sonata Tailoring. She’s a very sweet old lady and will help Jamie a with getting fashionable for certain events.
"Hmmm.. I'm going to have to make a new outfit for you for the summer! Something a little more... loose."
"Luna, please, mind your manners"
Jins grandmother and helper at the Harp Clinic. She teaches Jamie to make medicine from herbs and special ways to stay healthy. She can come off rude but she is very caring.
"What do you want? Are you sick? Do you need a doctor?"
"Jamie! Don't forget your medicine!!"
Kathy’s loving father and owner of the Brass Bar. He introduces Jamie to Chase and offers her to work at the bar for a small profit is she gets better at cooking.
"Don't mind him, he's just too focused on the kitchen. His head is practically full of steam [laughs]"
"Kathy, don't worry, we can handle ourselves. You're working too hard. Go out and have some fun!"
Ozzie is the owner of the Fishery and Uncle to Toby and Father to Paolo. He’s very concerned about the water and fish within Castanet and believes all the trash around the land is causing their disappearance. Some kind of Asian accent.
"The boat doesn't come back around here much. Water's been too stubborn as of late"
"TOBY! Get my fishing rod!!"
Paolo is one of the children in Castanet and helps Jamie find the Blue Bell. He loves making games around town and helps his father at the fishery.
"Luna hasn't been here in ages... I miss her. We use to play this game around town. It would always echo the bell sounds from the caves."
"Wow.... I can't believe I helped with that!!"
Cain runs the Horn Ranch with his wife Hanna and daughter Renee. He loves horses the most and hosts a Horse Race every Spring at the Animal Festival. He is the one to give Jamie a ride into town at the beginning of the story and even gives Jamie a free cow. He has a lower country accent.
"Ah, that’s right… Jamie… I’m Cain by the way, the owner of Horn Ranch. Your Uncle and I weren't the closest buds, but he would stop by often to buy feed and fodder for his livestock. Took good care of them too."
"Well, my wife and I will do the best we can to help you out. Once you get settled in you come down our way and we can maybe help you get set up with some… cute animals. [chuckles]"
Hanna runs Horn Ranch with her husband Cain and her daughter Renee. She mainly spends her time in the shop making it organized for customers.
"[sigh] There's got to be a way we can fix this..."
"Welcome! Welcome! Please come in don't be shy. How can I help you?"
Craig is another farmer at Marimba Farm and is the father of Anissa and Taylor. Him and Jamie's uncle where close and he is still struggling with the fact he is gone. He also is very frustrated and recognizes the problems with the land but doesn’t know what to do about them but pray to the Goddess. He shows little to no interest in Jamie.
"Farmer!? You're not a FARMER! That takes actual WORK."
"I don't care... I just don't"
Ruth is a stressed out mother of Anissa and Taylor and owner of the store at Marimba Farm. Since her husband has been so frustrated and lashing out recently her stress levels have reached an all time high. She is very worried about her daughter Anissa and son Taylor on their own trying to find better seeds to plant for the land. Ruth is afraid her family is getting torn apart and is praying for miracle. Definitely put a lot of emotion into her. Sounds likes she always on the brink of panic.
"CRAIG! Get your lazy butt in here NOW!"
"Don't mind my husband. You come around here any time you have questions. I'll try to answer what I can."
Taylor is another child in Castanet and has gone out with Anissa to find better seeds to plant for the worsening land. He realizes his father and mother and at their wits end and does what he can to help but will often get in fights with his father. Once he returns after the soil has been restored he will help Jamie and sell her rare seeds he’s found on his travels.
"Don't worry... I'll be back! And I'll show him what I'm capable of!"
"[laughs mockingly] I got more then you!!"
Chloe is a young troublemaker of the Garmon Mine District. She is always curious and is a ball of energy
"I WON I WON! No one can beat the KICK THE CAN CHAMPION!!"
"I'm so sorry Jamie... I really didn't mean it, I thought it was a toy! I swear!"
The blacksmith of Castanet. He helps Jamie upgrade her tools and raises his grandson Owen and granddaughter Chloe.
"Chloe... This isn't funny. Apologize now."
"Owen has been spending too much time down at that bar. I use to be young once but I could never take all the alcohol he can!"
Barbara is Phoebes mother and runs the General Store. She is very outgoing and inviting and is often stepping all over her husband Simon’s worries.
"Oh, please! She's fine! Adventure is good for the youth of this town!"
"My husband is far too worrisome. I'll never know how Phoebe can deal with a father like him."
Simon is a rather quiet man who owns the Photography store in Castanet. He is often worried about his daughter Phoebe and constantly asks Jamie how she is doing, though they live together. He loves his wife even though she can overshadow him often.
"Jamie... um.. if you're heading up there.. could you look for Phoebe? Tell her to come home.. I'm so worried."
"D-don't say that! You could have died!"
Samson is the owner of the Toucan Island Inn and father to Selena. He doesn’t believe in her dream to become a dance and knows how broken his wife would be if she left to pursue her dream and tries to keep her at the Island and help him run the Inn.
"SELENA. You're not going and that's FINAL!"
"Jamie! Thank goodness you're here. Selena isn't on the island. We looked everywhere!"
Sue is the protective mother of Selena and runs the Toucan Island Inn with her husband. She also does not believe in Selena's dream to be a dancer and begs and pleads with her to not leave for the main land. She is worried she won't be able to be out their on her own and she could get in trouble but little does she know, Harmonica Town is one of the most welcoming towns and hosts the most kind hearted people. She will eventually open up when Selena runs away and Jamie helps her calm down, promising to visit often to tell her what's been going on with Selena.
"Just listen to your father! He's right!"
"[sobbing] Oh gosh... I hope she's okay"
Theodore is the Ring Leader of a circus that comes to town every month. He's a forgetful and unreliable man but is passionate about exotic animals and fun.
"WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO THE CIRCUS!"
"I don't believe I've seen you before! It's a pleasure such a pleasure to meet you!!"
