Project Overview

God of Death is a Detective, a fanime surrounding Kumiko Nishiouji, a Death God and also the Lord of the Yokai world. Due to mysterious deaths in the Human World, with the possibility of the involvement of Yokai, Kumiko takes it upon herself to travel to the human world an investigate what is happening. During her investigations she joins a group of Detectives and is partnered up with a guy who are also looking into the mysterious deaths.

  • Sorry for being absent.

    Hiya, I would like to apologise to everyone who has sent me lines and wants an update on this project. Once I finally got a cast I had so many people drop out and it was just stressing me out too much about recasting and I felt like I was never going to get a full cast so I ended up deleting my episode progress and giving up on this project and my channel. Now I have some time I would like to re try creating the episode whether or not I have a full cast or no cast at all. Sorry if you had high hopes for this fanime.

Kumiko is a God of Death. Although her title sounds scary and intimidating, she is far from that. She is kind and always tries her best. Her voice is medium, not too high and not too low. Her vocals need to be very soothing and at times energetic when she's trying her best. Sometimes she can switch when she's angry and that's when her voice changes into something intimidating. To get this role you need to be able to be adaptable with your voice.


  • I see, so Nobuko is the one in charge of my preparations this year. I guess I better head back then. She’s still new at the whole servant thing so I’m pretty sure she’s in a panic knowing I’ve gone.

  • Kumiko: The Yokai that I know would never do something like this. So, that’s why I… I, Kumiko, God of Death and Lord of all Yokai will personally go to the human world and investigate the situation and find out who is responsible.

All I can say about Haru is he's dedicated to his job. He is one of the smartest characters within the entire fanime. He is very much expressionless and never shows his emotions to anyone. He is super blunt and says whatever is on his mind, and because of this he constantly irritates his colleagues or any one else to be precise. 


  • My name is not “Man.” It’s Haru Yamamoto. And I would like to analyse the situation so instead of having a chit chat with you I would rather do my job that I get paid to do.

Satoru is a Soul Reaper, a servant whose duties are to collect the souls of the dead for Kumiko. Satoru is extremely loyal to Kumiko as she saved him as a human and granted his final wish. He is known by all Yokai and Soul Reapers as Kumiko's number one servant and also the first Soul Reaper to ever be created. He dislikes other servants being close to Kumiko and completely disapproves of her going to the human world.

  • Yes. I’m afraid so. [Gives Nobuko an evil look.]

Nobuko is probably one of the cutest characters within the series, personality wise. Even since she was a young Tanuki, she and her family have served Kumiko. Because of her clumsiness she was always scolded as a child but Kumiko stuck up for her. Even since, she has admired Kumiko and works hard as one of her servants. Nobuko has a high voice and whoever plays her will have to have their crying voice ready as she's always worrying if she's doing things right or worrying about Kumiko. 


  • Wow… I can’t believe it. I was chosen to help Lord Kumiko get ready for the Day of the God’s. I hope she likes the attire I picked out. Huh? But what if she doesn’t like it…

  • Um… Lord Kumiko, I have your attire ready for the Day of the God’s. May I come in and begin the preparations, please? Huh? That’s funny… Lord Kumiko usually answers straight away… I wonder if she’s still asleep.

  • Oh… Miss. Akane. It’s terrible. Lord Kumiko is missing. I went to wake her… and she’s gone! [Says this whilst snivelling and in a crying voice.]

Akane is Kumiko's fox familiar. She is extremely beautiful and has a huge knowledge of the human world as she would always go there a long time ago. Akane is very mischievous and quite sarcastic. Akane might look like a serious character but she's far from it. She's a yokai who likes to laugh as others misfortune and the only person she truly gets along with is Kumiko. You'll often find Akane chuckling to herself within the script. 


  • Eh… She pulled another stunt again. [Laughs.]  Kumiko never fails to surprise me.

  • How is it possible for one to cry for this long?

  • Thank God for that. I was starting to think that Racoon Soup would be a fantastic meal and especially tasty once I had gotten rid of that annoying cry baby voice. [Laughs.]

Junichi is a dog yokai who is very old and quite wise. Just like a typical dog he enjoys playing with anyone who has the time to do so. His voice is very deep.  You'll often find that he is playing by the river with Kumiko.

Chiharu is a fairy who is a close companion to Kumiko. Chiharu was previously a servant to another God, also Kumiko's friend, and was handed over to Kumiko. Chiharu is always smiling and makes out that she's smarter than everyone else. She has a very high voice.

Keichii is the youngest member of the detective group. He is very naive, and he can be very awkward and shy at times. He is extremely kind and cares about everyone. You would always see him trying to stop arguments within the group or getting everyone a coffee/tea.

Yori is a very casual character, he is known for always getting annoyed at Haru's blunt words and therefore tries to argue with him. Yori likes cute girls and you'll constantly see him looking out for good looking women rather than doing his job. He is partnered up with Keichii and has the complete opposite personality, I would describe him as energetic, loud, obnoxious, self centred, and easily angered. 

  • Some sicko by the looks of it. Whatcha think Haru?

  • Why is he here with us anyway… I’m here with Keichii because we are partners. But he doesn’t even have a partner, so he shouldn’t be doing cases like these in the first place.

Takahiro is the oldest in the detective group. He is usually in charge of giving out the cases and handling the team. He stops any arguments and works hard despite his old age.

Three Fox sisters who are the familiars of Kome, the God of Rice and Agriculture. You will find that two of these foxes constantly gossip whenever they can and Kome has to apologise once they are scolded by another. The third fox sister is more open minded and will disagree the the harsh rumours that the other two talk about.
