Project Overview
Gears Turning is story about a 15-year-old Indian-Brazilian child criminal in America. He plans one last heist before ditching the city, only to have his plans foiled by none other than his trusted comrad. He gets turned into the police, but instead of the slammer, he's offered a home.

Gear is a 15-year-old Indian-Brazilian boy. He knows everyone due to the fact that he had memorized every file in the Worldwide Citizen Data Base. Gear is not his original name, for the original name would be revealed near the end of the story. He only referred to himself as Indian because that is the only nationality he knows about himself. He doesn't have a file in the Data Base, and he never knew his parents. A bit cocky and full of sarcasm, Gear remains the youngest and baddest criminal you can get. He has a light Indian accent and a rather mature voice despite his age. He will be narrating the entire story.
Everybody, shut your traps and get on the floor!
I know everyone; either by file, or by tragedy... Or both
(Ironic and emotionally pained) Just when I thought I had you all figured out, you pull a gun to my head. Some friend you are.
Chase is the son of Magdolina Tsuchay and Gear's new roommate. He's sarcastic, down to earth, and sometimes he's a bit of a jerk; your typical teen boy. At first, he's not so fond of Gear living in his home, but he soon comes around to enjoying his presence. His relations with Gear would soon determine his fate and saftey.
(Snarky) Welcome to my humble abode
You're "sure" that you're Indian? Didn't your parents ever classify?
(Chuckle) (Joking) You're a dick, ya' know?
Maggy is a 26-year-old mother who works as the Assistant Director of the Public relations department in the FBI. She's married and is a mother to Chase. She offers Gear a home and attempts to play the role of 'mother' in his life. I imagine her to have a high-pitched yet mature voice. She needs to be able to sound intimidating in one line and childish in another.
(Astonished) That would mean that you've memorized over 8 billion names, faces, birthdays, and everything! That's Impossible!
I'm not joking. I want you to come live with me. I have a son, as you know, and I'm almost positive you're the same age as him. You'll become close friends, I'm sure of it. You can have a place to call home and a place you could always return to. I don't know much about you, but it seems you know everything about me, and I don't think that's quite fair. You don't have to open up to me straight away, and you don't have to accept my offer, but all I ask is that you don't push everyone away.
For one, no swearing, and for two, I need a name I can refer to you as at home; a proper name
Spark is a middle aged undercover cop, trying to blend in with the band of criminals in the beginning of the story. He should have a gruff, yet innocent voice. He only has one line, though what happens to him will have a large impact and tell a bit more about the main character. Spark is just as important as any other role.
Where's Hannibal?
Hannibal is another undercover cop, like Spark. Hannibal is pessimistic and a bit naive. He should have gruff and crude voice. He appears in the story with Spark and only has 2 lines. What happens to him will have a large impact on the story and the main character. Hannibal is just as important as any other role.
You're under arrest, brat! You have the right to remain silent- (interrupted)
(irritated) You have the right to remain silent.. Anything you say can, and will be used- (interrupted)
Langan is the older brother figure and colleague of Gear. He is an excellent actor and a bit of a smart-mouth. Hailing from England, Langan appears in the beginning and disappears before showing up again in later chapters. He should sound like the typical young adult who's never let go of his teenage self
(pretending to be offended) just for that li'l comment, I'm not going to help you carry those
(Joking) Time for a game of 'Take It or Leave It', made by the one, the only, Idiot Boss!
Collins is Gear's closest partner in crime. He's a 19-year-old who's been in and out of jail consistently. He turns against Gear in the first chapter, being the initiator of the story. His voice is a bit husky and raspy due to smoking.
(sly, yet remorseful) Sorry, Buddy They got to me
Worth a shot
(Distressed) Get hell outta there, ya' dumbass!
Loyal to Gear and his fellow colleagues, Johnny is tough yet has a weak heart. Johnny appears in the beginning of the book and re-enters later in the story. He's barely 17 and already has a criminal record. Johnny should have a deep voice, but one that still shows his youthfulness. His voice should sound like he's always on guard because he thinks the whole world wants to hurt him.
Boss, you cool?
(trying to prove a point) He's long gone, man. Ain't nobody seen 'em since you was taken to the cooler, man. Just forget about him!
(hushed and in pain) If they couldn't beat me into talkin', I doubt you could neither
Stanley is/was a banker but was thought to be dead when an explosion occurred at the bank, caused by none other than Gear. Stanley was originally a feeble and quiet guy, but when Gear showed up in his life, he became irritable. Here he was, a survivor of a mass genocide, seeking nothing but a normal life, but instead is caught up in the antics of the boy that tried to kill him.
How the hell do you know my name?!
(panicked) Oh God, not you again..
(angered) Just stay the hell out of my life! You already tried to kill me once, so just fuck off already!
