Role assigned to: ellasm

Helen Flinch is a recognized anchorwoman with extensive experience on both radio and television. We are flexible about her age, what we are looking for is someone who can have fun with the acting! Send in your audition, we can't wait to hear it!

  • It's ten o'clock, good morning. This is KKRTB radio news on the hour broadcasting in partnership with the National Public Radio, the British Radio Service, and the Canadian Public Radio Broadcasting Signal. This is Helen Flinch, and we have a somewhat unusual coverage today (takes a deep breath) from the South Pole. Yes, we are in the South Pole.

  • (Scared) What is that sound? What is happening? Jerry, what's going on?

  • (hysterical) Jesus, what are those things! What the hell are those things!

Walter Gibson is a recognized reporter and war correspondent. He will be walking into the strange into the bizarre in this story. Picture you wearing a hazmat suit and going inside a strange door that just popped in the middle of the south pole along with a team of scientists and soldiers. You are nervous, somewhat scared, but committed to doing your job to report the news. If you have trouble picturing that, pretend you are reporting live from Siria. Imagine what these reporters must feel while going live in the middle of a warzone. If you always wanted to play radio drama, give this one a shot! Send your audition!

  • The walls are carved out of stone, the same goes for the floor and the ceiling. As we move away from the door, it gets dark. Turning on my flashlight now. Watch the floor, watch it. Okay, in this section, it looks as if the walls were wet, somehow. There's condensation.

  • Okay, moving now. Nothing. I see nothing. The door is here, I can see it, I can see the frame, I can see the door open, with the sign, the researchers getting their gear ready, the soldiers checking their guns, I see my own footsteps on the snow, but I can't see what I was seeing just a moment ago. I can even walk around it and nothing, it's incredible. There's nothing here, Helen!

  • Wait a minute now! Excuse me...! Hey! Sure, walk away. Why would you care about my constitutional rights?

Role assigned to: Jarrod Clegg

Major Matheson is around 56 years old, but it can be perfectly acted by someone younger than that who wants to explore his voice range. Send your auditions, if your voice is right, you've got the part, regardless of your age.

  • You've been borough here because of your work as a radio broadcaster, Mr. Gibson. The same goes for miss Flinch here. People recognize you. They trust your voice. That said, I want to make this clear; it was not my idea to have you are here. If it were for me, you two would be as far as possible from this place, but the President advisers thought it would be best if we handled the broadcast ourselves to avoid hysteria and mass panic among the population.

  • We also have representatives from the Chinese government, Canada, France and six other nations. Like us, they brought in their best scientists and academics. All but Russia. They said they wanted to wait for the President's announcement. Well, it aired a moment ago so...

Professor Braun has a very distinguish southern accent. He's a gentleman, but he's also a scholar and a very bright man. The character is middle age/senior, but young voice actors are welcome to give it a shot. We are aiming for a performance similar to the Mark Twain character in Star Trek TNG, Time's Arrow's episode.

  • Incredible? I would say it's beyond incredible! That experiment alone redefines the very basis of physics as we know it.

  • Yes. I am going to restrain myself from commenting on the details, not so much because of a matter of public health, but to protect the self-esteem of some of my colleagues, especially the younger ones. It seems to me that some of the countries we see here today have an obligation to update their norms on what their public health professionals should consider appropriate when facing hazardous biological agents.
