Final Fantasy VIII: Abridged Series
Project Overview
Welcome to the casting call page for the main roles of the Final Fantasy VIII: Abridged series that is in production. I'm in the final stages of the script and have begun editing footage, so I feel this is the oppotune moment to start looking for voice actors for the roles, below you will find the major roles for the series which will span from the begining of the game to the end of disc 1, of course if this project is a success then continuation into a second season is likely.
As you'll find below there're auditions for Zell and Quistis. These will make up the main cast for the series as they're the main characters. There are many other minor characters that will make appearances such as Ellone, Ifrit and Shive, and if you'd like to audition for the smaller roles

Rules of auditioning
-I shall be considering all auditions, experienced VA's or newcomers, all are welcome.
-Audition such be clean sound with no background noise.
-Commited to the role, if you get the role I'd hope that you stay commited enough and patient enough to see the project through.
Warning-This project has mature/adult themes and language, if this makes you uncomfortable then this isn't for you.
-No one will be cast until the deadline
-Please enjoy your audition and as you will see below with each role description I am looking for certain tones and accents but feel free to experiment if you believe you can provide something more.

Selphie is agreesive everyone and acts as if the world is against her. Known as the 'bitch of Balamb' her attitude shows not that she cares. She has a take charge attitude and excepts everything to go her way and she'll use her aggressionand and sometimes act the sweet innocent girl to get exactly what she wants and manipulate other. The voice for Selphie should be a divide between sounding like the sweetest and most charming girlie girl, to the most brutal and agressive person ever.
(Angry)"Watch where you're going asshole! Where the hell are you going?! Motherfucker, Get back here!"
(Yell)"Hey pussiesssss. . .(Threatening) If either of you two tell anyone what just happened, I'll cut your balls off and feed them to each other, understood?"
(Prideful) "Just remember you only made SeeD because I carried you through that mission. (Cheery) Now I'm going to get completely wasted"
Aged and senile or just plain crazy with no regard for the safety of his students, either way Cid comes across with a blantly disregard for others and happily throws them into high risk situations. Cid speaks with a mature tone, occasionally hitting high pitch notes.
(Surprised) "I'm not going to lie, I made a bet that you'd all be dead. I even sent a giant mechanical spider to kill you all. Ah well no risk, no fun. . . (High pitch) Moving on!"
(Casually) "Now if you'll excuse me I'll leave the rest of this bullshit parade to whats'his'face. I just finsihed downloading the 50 shades of Laguna audiobook and you can bet your ass I'm going to milk the snake. . . that means masturbate sonny"
(Seriously) "Now then Squall, you're the squad leader. That means is it's your responsiblity to get everyone killed. . . I hope not, I bet 50,000 Gil that you'll be dead before you return to Balamb Garden. Now get the fuck of my property before I set the T-rexes on you."
Kiros is Laguna's trusted friend and spends every oppotunity he pointing out the obivious which often interupts Laguna. He is blunt and straight to the point. Feel free to experiment with Kiros but he will speak in sudden outbursts.
(Bored) "Laguna, what're we doing here? . . .Dat ass, your here to try and get on Julia right?"
(Laughing) "Haha, Laguna you've tried every pickup line ever and she turns you down everytime, what makes you think this time will be different from anyother?"
(Angry) Laguna don't you dare make a comment about us being in a threesome. . . You son of a bitch"
Irvine is the only one who knows what he's doing, he is professional and an excellent marksman, he is serious about being a SeeD and has all the qualities of a leader. Irvine is down to earth and struggles to deal with the stress of the others in the group. Irvine should sound mature and serious.
(Serious) "Greeting to all of you, I am Irvine Kinneas and like you a military combat specialist, a SeeD. We have an important mission and from this moment on I shall be leading this unit, any objections?"
(Confused) "What did that bumbling moron just say? . . .(Surprised) Oh, well that actually makes a lot of sense.
(Angry) "Shut up! Squall shut up! Dammit man you're going to make me miss my shot, shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! . . . Now look what you've done!
Laguna is a writer, however no one appricates is romanic novels, especially his current works titles "50 shades of Laguna". When his not talking about his writing he is talking in sexual overtones and innuendos and often suffers from spontaneous erections which makes social interactions awkward. As mentioned Laguna speaks in sexual overtones and should sound flirtatious.
(Triumphantly) "Well my fine comrades in blue, we're here to wet our lips with the sweetest taste of all. . . (Confused) Um, no Ward. (Triumphantly) We're here for. . .crudely put Kiros, but yes we're here for Dat Ass"
(Flirt) "Hello beautiful, how about you sit on my lap and watch me level up"
(Embarrassed) "It's not what you think. . . well it's your fault. Okay let's calm down Sarah Jessica Parker, Mickey Rourke, David Schwimmer, no that makes it worst, Jocelym Wildenstein. Annnd we're flaccid"
Zell spurts out random gibberish that seemingly no one understands, this lack of communication leads everyone to believing he is an nonsensical idiot which frustrates him. Ideally I'd like Zell's accent to be something that is stereotypically difficult to understand such as British cockney, gutturalScottish or any accent really that speaks with rapid succession. Try to find a balance between getting the lines across but with a ridiculous tone/accent.
(Angry)"You what mate!? You're telling me I have to work with this gormless wanker! Bloody hell"
(Defensive) "Listen'ere knobhead, I may look like some prison thug but that doesn't mean I am one. Now get outt'a my face you slag"
(Say slang terms for you appropriate chosen accent, (Optional) Make up random nonsense gibberish
Rinoa is a spoiled brat who gets everything she's ever wanted and uses her father's money to party. No stranger to drugs,sex and alcohol, Rinoa has no problem stepping on others and putting them down if it amuses her, she's just happy living the high life that her father's money has granted her. Rinoa is sarcastic, flirtatious and blunt.
(Drunk/ Slurred speech) "Ya'know, you're kinda cute in a facially deformed kind of way"
(Groggy) "Ugh, how many chocobo cocktails did I have last night. . . Oh god, please tell me we didn't fuck. . . Did you at least wear a rubber?"
(Sarcastic) "What?! Jumping from one train to another, at 300 miles per hour is dangerous. I had no idea. (Irritated) That's why you're here dumbass"
Edea is not as she appear, and not just because she is a sorceress. She has a kind hearted bubbly attitude and tempts other with what they want, fulfilling promises, or at least seeming to Edea gains the trust of others and from then on manipulates them. Edea speaks is a cheery, bubbly tone, often sounding amused and giggling.
(Giggle) "Well, well, well. What do we have here? The hero of the hour. . . Who me? I'm just the woman who can make all your dreams come true. I know you Seifer, you're tired of having to prove yourself to those whelps at Balamb Garden, oh speak of the devil. . . Where was I? Ah yes, you've been wasting your talents hadn't you, sent on childish errands, forced to watch out for those below yourself. I have a proposition for you Seifer, how would you like to lead an army?"
(Mildly irratated) "Aren't you charming. Normally I'd endulge distractions like this but I'm in a hurry, about to become ruler of Galbadia, kind of a big deal. . . There, I'll deal with you after my speech"
(Bubbly) "Oh? Then how about this, whoever's still alive in the next 3 seconds takes control of the nation, sound good? . . . I goody, I won."
Quistis isn't a stupid, but she's no genius either, she is naive and to trusting of her students and oblivious to any obvious dangers, because of this she is oddly relaxed. Her care-free peaceful attitude tends to annoy the others of the group as she believes problems can be resolved without violence. She should sound absent minded, distant at times but mostly speak as if she is always happy and kind.
(Kind) "I heard that you got into a fight with Seifer. That wasn't a ver good idea now was it. how're you feeling Squall? . . . Is that so? I was told that a crazed student charged at him was a gunblade"
(ignornant) "What're you saying Squall? Balamb Garden is perfectly safe and care about the safety of each and every student, we don't have any T-rex's roaming around, illegal underground activities and definatly no giant fire demon that we force students to fight. . . (Delighted) Education!"
(Sweetly) Would you care to know what I think? . . . I think that you need to get laid.
Courteous and professional, Seifer is the perfect student and everyone looks up to him. However it is a front, really he feels everyone is below him and that his talent is wasted at Balamb Garden. Seifer should sound proud, well spoken and soft toned.
(Inspirational) "This is our first mission, and once we complete it we could all become qualified Seed. As team leader for this mission I am relying on you both to give me nothing less than your best, we're all trained hard for this and I know no deserves it more than us. So let's get out there and represent Balamb Garden."
(Polite) "Zell, please don't disobey my orders again. We're a team and must cooperate if we're to succeed in our mission. So I'm afraid the answer is no, we cannot stay here and play with the Mr. Fluffy Woof"
(Exhausted) "You know what, stay here. I'm fed up having to babysit you two anyway, I'm going ahead, come with me and help or stay here like a couple of chicken wuss's wallowing in your own piss. I frankly don't care anymore"
Squall wants to be everybodies friend, he is socially awkward and everyone sees him as a "Seifer wannabe" Although everyone puts him down he doesn't stop trying to be the hero and friend to everyone, even if they don't want him to be. I'm not looking for the sober reserved Squall that everyone knows, I want an awkwardness where he is unsure of himself and is just trying to fit in.
(Excited) "Seifer! We're blood brothers!"
(Hysterical) "Really! Are you sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with this school . . . Oh c'mon! I'm barely out of puberty and I'm being forced to fight a fire demon, this isn't part of the curriculum, this is psychotic!"
(Samples of different screams of angry and fear. Additionally say sword and gun actions/sounds such as "Stab" "slash" "Explode" "Whoosh" "Go Gunblade!"
