Female Narrator Needed ASAP
Project Overview
Okay, this is my sixth time trying to find a Narrator for this project. I am begging you, if I cast you...PLEASE follow through with this! There are a ton of lines, and you will be expected to turn them in within a week or two.
Summary: Brenna is young girl who pretends to be a boy in order for her to be a newsie on the streets of New York. She lives in the Manhattan Lodging House with the other newsies who all know her secret. She has been a newsie for a couple years after Jack took her in when she was in trouble.
She and Jack Kelly are best friends and spend a lot of time together. He helps her each morning to make her look like a boy and is constantly looking out for her.
When the price for papers goes up, all the newsies decide to stage a strike in order to get the price back.
At first it seems like a great idea, but as time goes on, they realize just how difficult it is to get their point across when Joseph Pulitzer is doing everything in his power to shut them down.
Pulitzer gets to Jack and to the rest of the newsies, it appears that he is betraying them. Brenna tries to get the truth out of him, but he insults her to the point where he tells her he wished he never saved her.
Beyond hurt, Brenna is comforted by the other boys as she cries. It is then she realizes that his words hurt so much because she is in love with Jack.
She makes it her personal mission to get him to tell her the actual truth, and when he reveals the real reason he said such terrible things, she manages to get him to come back to the strike.
From there, the newsies will do everything they can to win the strike. And Brenna will try to tell Jack how she really feels about him.

Every single boy in the Lodging House knew that Brenna was a girl, but they had decided to keep it a secret from Mr. Kloppman. While they admired him and looked up to him, they had no idea how he would react if he found out a girl was staying in the Lodging House with them.
Brenna gasped at his words. Her mouth was open in shock. She felt like she had just been punched in the stomach several times over. She slowly backed away from him, unable to stand in front of him any longer. Her eyes filled with tears as she walked through the crowd of newsies, numb to everything else around her, even all the angry shouts that echoed behind her. She slowly walked further and further away from them. She then found herself in alley. That’s where she broke down into violent sobs on the ground.
