My name is Fatima, the oldest daughter of Mohammad Al-FIhri.We moved from Qirawan to Fez a couple years ago after my mum passed away. My dad looked after us. He was very keen to make sure that me and my younger sister Mariam were gaining a good education, ... He wasn't only a successful business man and a kind soul and everyone in this market loved and respected him. He taught my sister and I life lessons.

Then, my dad passed away ... everything became dark in my life after losing my father .... but the light of my faith and knowledge brightened my heart.
After my dad’s death I have inherited a large fortune, I was wondering how to invest this money according to my principals.

And because education is the most precious possession I focus my time on, I aim to use this knowledge and my money to help the community.
I built the world's first university ... I called it Al-qarawiyyin university. After my home city Qayrwan in Tunisia.

And the main lesson that I learned from life is that everything could be cut after death except ceaseless charity, or knowledge that others benefited from ... Never give up helping and adding benefits to the  community.
