Fallout: New Vegas - Project Wolf Creek (Quest Mod)

Fallout: New Vegas - Project Wolf Creek (Quest Mod)

Project Overview

SEE THIS DESCRIPTION DOWN HERE? YEAH, THIS IS IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ THIS SO YOU DON"T END UP MAKING A HORRIBLE MISTAKE. THANK YOU.

Hello and welcome to another one of my crazy quest mods! This project is a new open world quest mod with about as much content as a small DLC. It's a semi-complex story with multi-dimensional characters, and, most importantly, many different branching paths. The Player will be tasked with taking care of two children in a quest to take them to a new home after their parents were murdered by a Mysterious Gang Leader. There will be many charactes, including young, old, ghoul (some feral), and some intelligent speaking wolf/human hybrid creatures.

REQUIREMENTS:

I am currently looking for voice actresses and actors with at least a Blue Yeti mic, a fair amount of voice acting or real life acting experience, a pop filter, the ability to name files correctly based on information from either a Spreadsheet or a Google Doc, and the ability to do basic audio processing. It is very pertinent that audio processing procedures are followed for the success of the integration.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - Voice Actors:

I must request that all Voice Actors interested be also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@Cellblock Psycho#0038) via DMs or our group server, which you will be linked to upon receiving a role. If you are casted, you will receive your lines within a week through discord or through Casting Call Club along with recording instructions, deadline, and any other specifications you might want to request. Just let me know.  If discord is an issue with you, I will work with you via CCC Private Messaging to find the best way possible for us to communicate.

For all characters, I will be expecting lines to be sent back following the correct organization and formatting specified within the script you will be receiving. If recording will breach the deadline, please notify me immediately. Failure to do so will result in your role being reopened, and me having to find someone else. Please don't put me through that. This project will be in flux, some characters might be added as further development continues. All roles will remain open until the first deadline. At that point, people will be cast!

PROGRESS?

Currently, the mod is about 50% done. All main characters and their lines have been finished.

Alex Wolfe

Young, impressionable, 14 year old Alex has not really been exposed to some of the more daring trials of the wasteland. His parents were just murdered, so he's got to find his own way in the world while protecting his little sister at the same time. He starts off very awkward, but willing to stand his ground to protect his family. His character can go many ways as the story progresses, to being a typical teen just getting along in a better place getting over his awkwardness a bit, or becoming an absolute psychopath. Or in worst case scenarios, very, very dead.

Has a slight candian accent. Can be heard when saying words like "Sorry"

  • You get the hell away from her!  Just go out that door Mister.... right out that door. We don't want any trouble.

  • I was scared at first, when I killed that man. But ... I had to. What else could I have done ... Felt disgusting. Now ... it feels like taking charge. Like I could really fix some things with this world. Wish I could show dad that.

  • Well, in case you couldn't already tell. Charlotte thinks she's smarter than everyone, but she's okay once you get to know her. Dad always told me it was my duty. My duty to protect her, even if I couldn't protect myself. I guess, she was the favorite.

Charlotte is very intelligent for a nine year old girl, but retains a bit of her innocence. She dresses nice, and prefers to keep clean and out of dirty messes. Her innocence in this world cannot be retained, but only the player can decide the best way for her to "grow up". Will she be tough or weak?

Unlike her brother, she has no hint of an access.

Line 1: She's being attacked by a Ghoul in this Scream. Feel free to adlib anything you want.

Line 2: Asked what she is reading.

Line 3: Charlotte runs away from her new home if her brother dies. She prefers to stay with the people from the hills.

  • (Screaming) -

  • It's a book about horses!  My daddy gave it to me when I was little. It's one of the only books I own. I always liked the pictures. I wonder if ... if things can ever look like that again. Or if they already do somewhere else.

  • I'm not going home. Not back there with them. Not after.... I want to stay here. They're nice to me.

Marlo is a pre-war ghoul who was a war veteran who became a railway worker just before the bombs fell. He became depressed after losing all of his family with him not seeming to die from old age. He refuses to kill himself or let himself die due to his religious and moral beliefs. He's grumpy and tries to force anyone he meets away because he's afraid of them dying or having them outlive them. He believes he no longer has a purpose in this world, and only through the events of the game could you possibly give him this purpose.

  • What the hell do you smoothskins think you're doing in here! Get out! You stand back there smoothskin. Don't come no further, or I'll blast a hole through you and those kids of yours.

  • My name? Marlo.

  • You'll be leaving now. Better get a move on.

A wise homelessman, who lives in an abandoned train car. Despite his situation, he's a very kind man who does all he can to help the people around him, even if sometimes that puts him in danger. He especially does so in the case of kids. He's a bit of a softspoken man and a bit strange, but if he has something to say, he will say it.

  • Look, I don't know much about you folks, and it ain't exactly my place to speak when concernin' y'all. But if you keep goin' on like this, we're just speeding full speed off the cliff.

  • Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee.

  • I'd say with a little TLC, she'd be as fit as a fiddle.

William Owen Crawford, a rather fancy name for that of a insane psychopath. Crawford is a highly intelligent and charismatic leader, but also cunning, manipulative, sadistic, and ruthless. His charisma and intelligence also hide both a violent and abusive streak and a stiltedly warped sense of humor at the same time. He firmly believes that people must be hardened in order to survive in the post-apocalyptic world. He leads a community of nomadic raiders calling themselves The Rouges, made up of refugee's and outcasts from warring nations. Crawford treats his people like sheep for the feeling of power, and has anyone who leaves his group be hunted down and killed along with their whole family line.

Crawford speaks in a gruff, scratchy voice, although he really likes to hear himself talk. It's almost as if he buying his own bullshit, even though he really isn't. He will mostly be calm and collective, except for the brief moments where he will become completely unhinged.

  • You know me. If not, then you know what I stand for. Our mission, purpose. You'll have a chance to see it firsthand. Even sheep has their purposes within the pack.

  • Even with natural predators such as ourselves, culling is a necessity, especially when the pack has lost their way.

  • Atta girl... she ain't afraid to look it in the eye. You go with that feelin' ya got right now, and you pull that trigger. Don't you even have a second thought.

The Rouge's are a gang of animalistic raiders that worship the characteristics of beasts and monsters as the proper way to live ones life. Most are filthy muscle bound freaks made to inspire terror into their enemies.

Line 1: Player comes across a Rouge's Gang Member cutting up a body with an axe. He'll notice the player and threaten them in a calm voice, yet imposing.

Line 2: Battle Cry

Line 3: Rouge Gang Member giving their life advice.

  • Fast .... or slow?  Gonna be slow.

  • (Roar)

  • You're trapped. We're here to free your mind. Life. It doesn't belong in those "societies" anymore.

Aphid is a member of the Rouges Gang, as he was born into it. All he wants is to no longer be a part of it, but is scared of being hunted for life if he was ever to leave. He can play both with the player and against the player, which ultimately decides his fate.

I want Aphid to come off as a reserved, demure, and minor depressive young adult. Other than that, we have no specific voice in mind. Go crazy.

Line 1: Aphid is letting the player escape the Rouge's Hideout through a parking garage. He comes off as sincere and a little sad that he isn't leaving himself.

Line 2: Aphid introduces himself.

Line 3: Aphid is asked why he never bothered to leave the Rouges.

  • I want nothing from you. Nothing that you wouldn't give freely anyway. Just make sure you don't get caught again. Next time I won't be able to take a risk like this. <Brief Pause> <Sigh> Good Luck.

  • They call me Aphid. It's ... nice to meet you.

  • Leave? Others have tried, but Alpha would never let them go. We all belong to him. Including me. We are all marked Men.

Hershel is the leader of the small welcoming community of Wolf Creek. He's a kindly, yet stubborn man. He is also deeply moralistic and cares much about family values and human life. He was once a doctor a long time ago, but he lost his wife during her pregnancy as well as his unborn child. He blames himself and no longer practices medicine. All he does now is attempt to lead his town, but he doesn't exactly have the backbone to strike back should someone treat their people unfairly. His main goal, for the most part, to is maintain peace by any means necessary, at least until the point at which it is possibly to late.

  • Well now, you must be that stranger that wandered into town. Name's Hershel. Welcome to Wolf Creek. You're welcome to stay here, and we'll treat you alright, as long as you aim to do the same.

  • We have a couple of folks who live down the road. Farmers. They're the only other sign of Human Life you'll find in these parts. We get most of our food from them. At least we used to.

  • That damn fool over there, Kinkade. The man has us cut off from food entirely. Damned if I know why, he's been keeping his reasons to himself. Can't grow our own food either. Ain't got the supplies or the right soil.

Role assigned to: Cal Collings

Mr. Schiedt is a scholar who was once a Brotherhood Scribe. He left the order at a young age to live a simpler life. It is a decision he now regrets, as the wasteland was a harsh and lonely place. He eventually settled down in Wolf Creek and started work as a teacher, passing along what knowledge he has. Knowing he can never go back to the Brotherhood, he has all but abandoned their values. Still, deep down, he dreams of their amazing technology and desires to use it once again.

For a voice, think of that one stern math teacher you more than likely had back in school. Tough during class, and seemingly exhausted by the end of it.

Line 1: The player is meeting this character for the first time.

Line 2: The player asks what a school is. Mr. Scheidt is suprised at this question while being a little bit angry at the state of the world.

Line 3: The player has passed an intelligence check.

  • Ah, you must be that stranger everyone has been talking about. Come to take a class have you?

  • What do you think this place is? This is a school my friend. A place of learning. There used to be places like this in every town around the world. Now, I wonder if we are the last ones.

  • Well, you seem much more intelligent that most of the wastelanders I have met in my travels. Then again, you'd be lucky to meet a commoner out there who can even read or write.

Hannah is a young 15 year old orphan living at Wolf Creek. She's a rather odd girl that believes in supernatural and spiritualistic presences in the world. Her family was killed by wolves, and she believes that they have become wolf spirits that wander the valley at night. Hannah's Family embraced Navajo Culture, possibly being descendants of the tribe, and she doesn't want to follow a lot of their traditions, but still believes in some of the myths and stories within the culture. She especially believes in werewolves, as she believes wolf creatures killed her parents and siblings. She seems somewhat distant from reality, and often says the strangest or saddest things matter of factly.

For a voice, we willing to let people give their own interpretation of the character, but for the most part we want someone who can be calm and say out there things while acting like what they are saying is just pain fact.

Line 1: She is talking about what she believes lives on this land. She talks about this is in a serious, and semi foreboding tone. (yee-nald-do-she)

Line 2: She is somewhat distant as she speaks of how her family was murdered. Almost a bit coldly.

Line 3: Hannah speaks of her parents ideals. She herself does not abide by these, but still believes in the myths behind some of these beliefs.

  • The yee naaldlooshii wander this Valley. It used to belong to them, and they are angry that we have trespassed on their land.

  • I know very little of my past. I was found in the forest years ago. My family was taken by the yee naaldlooshii. Slaughtered. They took mercy on me, and I was spared.

  • Our tribe and heritage is very important. My mother had taught me that maintaining this way of life was necessary to remember our ancestors.

He's also one of the guardsmen for the village. He can be seen as a coward, as he as to stay alive for the children, but he's not afraid to stand his ground every once in a while.

We don't have any particular voice in mind for this character.

Line 1: Introduction to Brad as you enter the town for the first time.

Line 2: Brad talks about the dangers of the woods . (Chin-Dee)

  • Hold it right there! We don't want any trouble, just turn around head back the way you came.

  • I don't go out there much anymore. I've had too many close calls with the Chindi to risk it.

Weston is a bit of an outsider to the town because he is rather rude to most people and keeps to himself. He has become to man to come to if you need something repaired, as he is quite handy with a wrench. He's also an expert with explosives.

Line 1: Player meeting Weston for the first time.

Line 2: When asked why he is so hostile towards the player.

Line 3: In a dark state, Weston begins to talk about dying. Opening up to the only person who can hear him.

  • So, Colin gave you the okay just like that. Just because everyone is letting you run around town, don't go thinking I'm not watching you at all times. Got me?

  • Why? I'm raising my boy all by myself here. Connect some dots. I'm all he's got, and none of the people around here are going to teach him what he needs to know about the world out there.

  • One day, when I'm old, crippled, worthless, I'll just take a walk back out there. Except this time, I wouldn't come back. It'd be peaceful. Poetic I guess.

Colin, or Uncle Colin is the uncle of Charlotte and Alex. He had met the children once or twice many years ago, and during the events of this story gets to see them once again. Colin is a bold and brash man, and while at times being friendly and jovial around the kids, isn't afraid to be vulgar. Think of him as the "cool uncle". He's one of the few people who has traveled around the area as a hunter and is mostly responsible for all the hunting done around town.

We don't have a particular voice in mind. Just give us something that sounds at least somewhat convinving for a man in his late thirties.

Line 1: Seeing his Niece and Nephew for the first time in a while.

Line 2: Talking at the kitchen table with his wife, niece, and nephew present. He comes off a little awkward as if he doesn't know exactly what to say.

Line 3: Colin is thanking the player.

  • Alex? Charlotte? Put your gun down Brad god damn it! That's my wife's brother's kids!

  • I know you kids have had a long run, hell, I can't imagine being out there at your age. Being a city boy does that. You just me or your Aunt Moria know if there's anything we can do to make things better.

  • Listen Friend, I don't know you from Adam, but the way I see it, you've done this family a great service. If there is anything I can do for you, you just let me know.

Aunt Moira is the aunt of Alex and Charlotte is biologically related to them, being the sister of their father. Moira has had a long troubled past with drugs and gangs, but now lives the quiet country life with her husband and a newfound hobby for cooking and sewing.

We want Moira to have a quiet and Hoarse voice, while sounding kindly and yet very tired.

Line 1: Player is being greeted by Moira who has a reward to offer you.

Line 2: Thanking the player for bringing the children home

Line 3: Moira is grieving and reflecting on her past.

  • You're more than welcome to stay in our home. It's the least I can offer you for all your help. And I'm more than willing to whip up some of my famous fried dog meat for you at diner tonight if you plan on sticking around.

  • Thank you, thank you! Whoever you are, you've done these kids a service. You have no idea.

  • You know, I made a lot of dumb mistakes in my life. I lost a lot of people in my life and filled that hole with drugs and alcohol. If I hadn't met Colin...

Creepy, Strange, and possibly dealing with a range of undiagnosed mental disorders, Ray is that one weirdo of the neighborhood found creeping in the shadows. He talks in a monotone voice, wears fancy/smelly clothes, and walks around town taking pictures. Most people are creeped out by him and dislike him, but Ray doesn't know this, as he doesn't understand most social cues. He will spend most of his days hiding in the basement of his house with his many pictures(doing god knows what), or taking photos in or around town.

For a voice, Ray will always talk in a slow monotone voice. We want him to sound intelligent, but at the same time a little cold and creepy.

Line 1: Greeting

Line 2: When the player asks ray about the abandoned house down the road. When he talks about it, he seems rather distant.

Line 3: Asked why he likes to take photos. Again he seems as if he is miles away.

  • Yes?

  • I used to live in that house when Dad got mad. It was relaxing. Sometimes, if you listened closely, you could hear the footsteps of the people who used to live there. Slow and steady, like a hearbeat. Sometimes, when the rain it the window at the right angle, you could feel as if the house was living again. Mother at the stove with a warm pie, father in his chair with a pipe. Just like a magazine cover.

  • I capture beauty where I see it. That way, when I'm gone, people can see what I see. See a world before theirs. Only because I wish someone would have done the same for me 200 years prior. Best to start now.

Old Lady Marling belives herself to be a medium who can communicate with the spirits of the dead, using hoodoo or witchcraft as a pass time. She hardly ever leaves her house, and most people leave her alone, mostly because she is quick to anger over the most piddly things. The children of the town believe that she is a witch or ghost or even a werewolf and leave her alone.

We want her to have a dry cackly voice, as there may be a few cackles here and there, however, you need to have the ability to yell in this voice, as that may become important.

Line 1: Marling is reading the future and past of the player in a spiritual seance.

Line 2: Complaining. Angry complaining.

Line 3: The player is looking for a cause of some mysterious attacks, and Marling begins to talk about what she "knows" is the cause.

  • Yes ... there is something about you. When I look at you, I mainly see conflict. Conflicting information in places you've been, things you've done. As if it all happened, and none of it happened. Only one thing remains constant, a begining and end. The grave was your begining, a great concrete wall will be your end, or maybe... the wall is all of our ends. What it holds is dangerous.

  • When a host offers you treats, it's very polite to accept young man! Just because I'm dying doesn't mean I should be mistreated like this!

If you're going to be coming and going, don't open the door at night! If that cold air gets in, I'm not going to feel my feet at night. It gets stuck in here!

  • You seek the great wolf, don't you. I know all about them and their kind. I met them when I was a young girl in these very woods.

Herr main flaw is that she can be too trusting and will see the good in people rather than the bad. That is, if you see that as a flaw in the human condition.

Line 1: Sarah is eyeing up the player for bringing Alex and Charlotte back home.

Line 2: Sarah is talking about the deal between Hershel and Mr. Kinkade about food. She desperatly wants to understand the reason for their conflct.

Line 3: Asked about what she does around town. She's a bit jovial when asked about this, treating it like it's no big deal.

  • That was real kind of you, bringing those kids back. You must be a real kind person. I'm Sarah, Sarah Scott.

  • Dad wants to deal with Mr. Kinkade in a way that benefits both of our settlements, but Mr. Kinkade just refuses to meet with us. I wish I could just get inside that place and talk some sense into the man.

  • Me? I make sure the town stays secure. Usually that means watching the gate for strangers like you, or keeping out the stray dogs. It's a pretty easy job, but what else is there to do.

Fat, Balding, and  massochistic is what makes up all that is Ed. Most of the town folk don't like him, but he's the town's best hunter, so they just let him abuse his wife. Besides, she's never complained, so they don't bother him. Others feel wrong about it, but certianly not Ed. He thinks it's his right to do these things to his property. Thankfully, he leaves the kids alone. He is also the town butcher, as well as the man to go to if you need to buy some dog hide. He will be obtuse to male players, while being dreadful to female players. A all around jackass all the way.

For his voice, we want him to slur his words ever once in a while, like it's easier for him to speak in that manner.

Line 1: Greeting.

Line 2: When asking about the wife. ed chuckles a bit. He thinks this is slightly funny that you asked.

Line 3: Foreboding when asked about the woods, and the hunting the ed does. He warns the player of the dangers. This is the first time he has come off as serious and deliberate with his words.

  • Yeah? <Snort> Is there something you want? Come on, I got a dog downstairs I need to tend to.

  • Oh yeah, Juniper. She knows her place, what can I say. That kid, however, she'll get there. Juniper will see to that I'm thinking.

  • Don't think about going out in those woods at night unless you want to die. The Chindi don't care who you is. They're tear you part one way or the other. That, and them werewolves. Ain't seen em myself, but late at night, you can feel them eyes peering down your sides. Yep.

Still, he is a businessman, and making deals and bargains is his business.

Kinkade comes off a tired man with a deep voice. He'll talk slow, and some times take long pauses between words. Kind of has a southern twang to his voice.

Line 1: Meeting the player for the first time. he's sitting down in the living room having a drink of scotch. This is a relaxed situation.

Line 2: Kinkade is upset, angry even, at the fact that he's losing so many men.

  • I see where you came from, son. That town down in wolf creek. But I know them people, and you ain't one of them. Hell, that's why I let you in. Wanted to jaw at you a bit. Take it you wanted to do the same?
