Vinyl is often depicted as a hip-hop DJ to the core and, just as often, is the go-to mare if you want to take part in Ponyville or Canterlot's night scene. She's known to be wild, unpredictable, and sometimes borderline insane, not giving a hoot what anypony else thinks of her words and actions. She's often paired, whether romantically or simply as an Odd Couple friendship, with the more cultured and sensible Octavia. While Vinyl generally finds Octavia's choice of music boring and can be a horrible tease, she does respect the earth pony and is usually the one to initiate the friendship/relationship if the two don't know each other from the get-go of a fan fiction or comic. She has also been depicted as having a relationship with Neon Lights, a background unicorn pony, usually shown to be a lighting show designer. They often share the same personality in fan labor.

Rarity is a female unicorn pony and the EWF Intercontinental Champion. She is Sweetie Belle's older sister and the subject of Spike's long-term crush. Rarity works as both a fashion designer and as a seamstress at her own shop in Ponyville, the Carousel Boutique. She has a white Persian cat named Opalescence. She represents the element of generosity.

Aria is generally portrayed as having a general negative outlook and displaying a bored demeanor. Additionally, she is commonly shown to be less accepting of Adagio Dazzle's position as leader than Sonata Dusk. She is usually depicted belittling Sonata.

Sonata is generally depicted with a ditsy, bubbly personality and is therefore occasionally called an "evil Pinkie". She is also generally portrayed as the gentlest and least evil of the sirens.

Adagio is generally depicted as the most clever and manipulative of the sirens. She is also shown to be good at holding the group together and making plans. Because of these qualities, she is viewed as the leader of the trio.

Princess Celestia, called Queen Celestia in one comic and early development, is an Alicorn pony, the co-ruler of Equestria alongside her younger sister Princess Luna, and the adoptive aunt of Princess Cadance. In addition to her responsibility of raising the sun, she has also been the teacher of Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer at different periods in time, often addressing Twilight as "my faithful student" while mentoring her. She has a pet phoenixnamed Philomena.

Princess Luna is the younger sister of Princess Celestia who, one thousand years before the events of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, was consumed by jealousy, turning her into Nightmare Moon. She attempted to cover Equestria in everlasting night, forcing Celestia to seal her away into the moon. Making her return in the first episode, Luna is purified by the Mane Six with the Elements of Harmony, restoring her to normal and allowing her to make amends with her sister.
