EMMADROiD

EMMADROiD

Project Overview

EMMADROiD is an original series about a futuristic world and the life of an android named Emma as well as her creator, Jenny. This will be a radio play posted on YouTube. There will be many stories we will record but for now we are just working on the first one. As of right now we are only casting two roles. Other roles will be needed in the future. In order to audition you must be reliable and have a Skype so we talk, practice, and you will be able to receive news about the project. You also need to have a decent mic, it does not need to be super fancy or expensive. Just a mic that doesn't have a lot of background noise and we need to be able to hear you clearly. Also remember that some background noise can be edited out and may not be as noticeable in the final project.

Jenny is a young adult in her early to mid 30's. She's a scientist who works on coding AI and building androids. She can be cocky and rude but is overall a nice and hardworking person.

  • “Emma, I’ve told you before. I’m not gonna let you out when there’s snow on the ground. Snow is just frozen water and it could be dangerous if you were to touch it. Even it’s just accidental. If it melts onto your skin or seeps through your boots onto your feet it could cause you damage; and I really don’t want to deal with anything like that today.”

  • (excitedly)”Hi Hi! Oh my god I’m so happy! I can’t believe I finally did it! Y-you work! Oh uh so how do you feel?!”

  • “Yes, you’re a robot and I created you. So be grateful because without me you wouldn’t even be here! I created your Artificial Intelligence program, your body, and all of your extremely difficult to make parts… Hopefully you take good care of all it. I made your intelligence level above average so actually I’m expecting it from you and if you don’t I’ll be very mad.”

The narrator is a very important role. They explain what is going on in the story that we can't see by just listening to the characters. The narrator needs to have a strong and clear voice. Any genders or accents are aloud as long as we can understand you.

  • It was a cold snowy day. A silverish white haired android girl was sitting looking out a big window in her house. She was looking at all the snow that had fallen on the ground. The android girl sighed.

  • It happened on a cool fall night. Jenny had been working hard for the past year working on coding Emma’s AI and building her body. Jenny would often stay up very late at night, sometimes she would stay up all night if she felt up to it. Jenny would work alone and that’s how she liked it. No one to bother her or slow down. Jenny knew what she was doing and exactly how she wanted to do it. Jenny majored in both Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in college and therefore had extensive training.

  • Then all of a sudden the headphones attached to the android’s head started glowing a beautiful crimson red. Then the android’s eyes had slowly opened and were the same crimson red color as the headphones. Jenny smiled excitedly like a young child on Christmas morning. Jenny went up to the android.
