Echoes of the Past [WAVE 1: CAST AND CREW AUDITIONS]
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for Game Vine Studios' upcoming animated series, "Echoes of the Past." From the same person who is leading Game Vine Studios' visual novel game, "Only Fools Scream". Echoes of the Past is a Minecraft cinematic series that has 3 planned seasons. This series is about when a young girl uncovers forgotten VHS tapes of an ancient heroineโs battle against the undead, she is drawn into a dark legacy. As she grows up, fiction turns to reality, and she must rise to face a resurrected evil, fighting to finish a war that began before she was born and determine if peace is worth the world that must be lost to achieve it.
We're casting Head of Production, Head of Teams, and Main crew members to help throughout the seasons. People who are cast may be asked at a later date if they would like to work with us again, if we see a role you may fit in for other projects, this can include our Studio's Staff Team!
LANGEUGE
All roles are in the English language. This means you must have a basic understanding of the English language and how to write/read it, as all messages will be sent in English language.
PAYMENT
All roles will most likely be unpaid for the time being since the project is based on success rate and monetization, so please keep this in mind while auditioning.
CREDITING
We also showcase all of our talents on our website. The showcase includes the chosen credited name, the role they played, and social media handles. If given, contact information and links to their website or CCC site will be added as well. All roles will be listed in the end credits of every episode of the show.
SERIES OVERVIEW
"Echoes of the Past" is a Minecraft animated cinematic series that ties in the past, present, and future of our heroes' stories. The stories will be produced like a TV Show, with atmosphere and sound effects, fully voiced, fully animated, each episode running about 21-35 minutes (excluding intros and credits), and a lot more!
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is August 28th, 2025, with auditions starting on July 1st. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline unless all roles are not filled. Once cast, the Season 1 script will start the writing and scripting process to be released to voice actors on a later date. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by August 30th and will be sent a Discord link by the 31st. This is a hard deadline. If you are unable to audition between July 1st - August 30th, please do not audition.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by our director, Elizabeth, the person who put together and created Game Vine Studios and all the productions under Game Vine Studios. At this point, you'll be part of our GVS family, where you'll get to interact with other voice actors from around the globe, not only networking with other talents but creating close relationships with us along the way.
We communicate primarily through Discord, with secondary communication through email/phone number. If you are unfamiliar with Discord, you can still audition; however, we strongly, STRONGLY recommend setting up an account so you may participate through Discord and can collaborate with your fellow voice actors and team members while getting all the needed information and announcements first-hand. We've used Discord with other projects, and it has been of immense value to our company, making it our primary source of sending out information.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
First and foremost, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different media to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft or about the project itself, as you can tell between those who are invested and those who are not.
Please be willing to do voice/video calls during meetings, as these meetings will be us working together collaboratively as we work on the project itself. If you do not have a mic you can use or are uncomfortable with that, please say something in your audition, as this isn't mandatory, but it would make things easier to get things finished quicker without much time typing every message out.
We do occasionally ask for cast and crew to join us for non-mandatory meetings just to hang out, talk about life, have some laughs, or make a video about the cast and crew while productions are going on. Again, these are not mandatory meetings/hangout calls, but they will be encouraged, as you can grow closer to your coworkers and peers.
Since we are planning on multiple seasons of Echoes of the Past, we'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the groups of cast and crew we have formed over the years, and when starting a new project, we may return to voice actors or crew members we've worked with in the past.
Lastly, please do not leave once cast or without a reason. We are very flexible if given a heads up about whether you will be gone for some time or if you just can't continue the project anymore, and are more than willing to work with our casted talents. However, if you do end up inactive for a couple of months without responding to our messages and end up ghosting us, you will be terminated from the project, as it will be seen as leaving the project. Open communication is best with our company as we know how life can get in the way a lot of the time!
