DRRTDA: Origin Stories Characters required
Project Overview
The series Danganronpa Ronpa: Return to Despair Academy is underway and each character in the cast has received a lot of love. But have you ever wondered about what happened before they entered the academy? That’s where these episodes come in! There will be one to two episodes dedicated to each character and broad cast in no particular order. Hopefully the characters cast will make future appearances in the rest of DRRTDA as well!

Kuroyami’s late father. Despite being a necromancer,he had a great love for mankind and especially his wife and son. He’s an optimist to the bitter end but his emotions cause him to make rash decisions. Such as allowing Kuro to bear the Hellborn curse in order to keep his wife alive.
*chuckles lightly* oh come now, Akuma!! You worry to much!!
*assuringly* Kuroyami my boy! You’re going to do great things one day! Your power isn’t a curse! It’s a gift!!
*in tears* I’m so sorry Akuma!! But I can’t lose Ceres! Not like this!!
Kuroyami's late mother, an experienced spirit medium who fell in love with Hikaru and wears a cloak to swear her loyalty to the necromancers.
She loves her husband and child dearly and also cares deeply for Hikaru's brother Akuma. She was a friend of Meav's and entrusted Kuro's care to her and Akuma.
*softly* Kuro... My special little boy... no matter what happens, I will always be with you
*Desperate* Please! save my son!!
*heavy breathing, pained scream optional* Oh god! oh god! it hurts!! I want to die!!
Kuroyami's uncle and mentor, aside from Kuroyami he was the only survivor of the attack on their family. He cares deeply for his younger brother Hikaru and it is implied that he was in love with Ceres before she married Hikaru
He acts as Kuroyami's teacher but eventually learns that what due to his fear of attachment, he can't give Kuro the love and care he needs so he entrusts Kuro's care to the Midorikawas
*softly* Kuroyami... remember what I've taught you, hatred is a necromancer's greatest enemy
*trying to stay calm* Hikaru listen to me! If she has your child now the Hellborn will be upon us... but if she holds on any longer... then I fear she may die...
*hiding the fact he too is in pain* I know Kuroyami... I know... I miss them both as well...
Ran and Mikki's detatched mother, she cares little for her children, if at all, and lives in fear of her husband, Dianthe.
a formal refined voice is necessary but also one with that can go from 0 to intense when necessary.
*flatly* this is no concern of mine...
*terrified* Dianthe! please! have mercy!!
*insulted* My daughter is not an animal!! remove those "pig tails" at once
Ran and Mikki's governess who cares and mothers them more than anyone else, she has many a time considered kidnapping them and escaping to a better life.
A motherly voice is needed for this role. one that's kind and full of love
*Concerned* Young Miss! why are you crying?
*trying to be brave* Master Dianthe, Please do not raise your hand at the young master again!
*quiet, an undertone of fear* it was terrifying enough to discover the body... but I can only imagine the young miss went through much worse...
Ran and Mikki's tutor who inspires them to persue music. he is soft spoken and gentle and develops feelings for Beverly.
a light and gentle voice would be ideal
*assuring* Young master, I know you have so much more potential in you, you just need to let it out!
*kindly* if it takes working for a wretched man to meet you miss Beverly, then it's worth it.
*knowingly* those twins are going to change the classical music industry... we just need to build their confidence!
Noize's mother. an overly emotional woman who cares deeply about her child. was a former musician herself and works hard to support her baby's dreams.
A voice that's able to flip on a dime to match each emotion would be best here.
*panicky* Norito! baby, can you hear me!?
*on the verge of tears* I don't care what you are, you're my baby and I love you!!
*excitedly* Ah~ my baby boy in his first solo concert!! I'm so proud!!!
Noize's manager and an old friend of Kirimi's he is like an uncle to Noize and will do anything to take care of them.
a manly, boastful voice fitting for the man whose last name in english is "great demon king"
*angry* Let me in! my client is in there!!
*devastated* by the gods... Kirimi I'm so sorry!!
*proudly* AHAHAHA You know you can always count on me!!
Korina's father and a wealthy businessman. He loves his wife and daughter more than anything and is always eager to meet new people and try new things. he has a fascination with western culture.
a boastful almost flamboyant voice is best for this role.
*joyfully* My darlings! I'm home!!
*doting* I'll make sure my little swan is the happiest in the world!!
*proudly* These are called Comic Books! they're really popular in the U S of A. would you like to try one?
Korina's Mother who is very supportive of her husband and daughter. She is always smothering Korina with affection and supporting her endevours.
a boastful almost flamboyant voice is best for this role. maybe even one you could hear doing an ojou-sama laugh
*joyfully* Darling!! welcome home!!
*excited* My daughter brought home friends!! How exciting!! I'll go make them some treats!
I've always wanted to make "snacks" for Korina and her friends!! this is wonderful!!*blushing* Ohohoho~ You flatter me darling, But Korina is by far the better dancer!!
Oracle's father and an ace detective. He cares for his daughter dearly but also respects that she can take care of herself and is proud of her achievements as a government agent. often slips information from the police to help in Oracle's investigations.
*concerned* You've been covering your tracks haven't you?
*softly* I've already lost your mother... I can't lose you too...
*trying to hide his excitement* You actually caught them in the act?! HAHA that's my girl!!
John's father and a former motocross champion. He's retired due to a leg injury and immigrated from America to Japan. and now coaches his son as best he can.
He's meant to be of African American descent
*whistles* look at him go, he'll break the speed of sound at this rate!!
*sheepish laugh* I'll admit... I do miss it heaps. But, seeing you on the race track... makes me feel more alive than ever.
*groans* can't talk.... too hungry....
John's mother. a stay at home wife and a no-nonsense woman! She whips her boys into shape and often believes that the best-behaved boy in the family is their dog, Biscuit.
Hey!! get that dog off the table!.... Not you Biscuit, I'm talking to Simon
*sighs, concerned* I don't trust that brother of yours Jay.... I'm worried our son will wind up in a ditch!
*being over dramatic* Oh Biscuit! you're the only one who understands me!!
John's Uncle who always has a shady "get rich quick" scheme up his sleeve. He often tries to drag John into his schemes, much to the annoyance of Kana and Jay
*slightly threatening* Don't you wanna win John!? you can't rely on skill forever!
*sheepish laugh* me Jay? up to something? how could you say that to your favourite brother?!
*impatient* fine then, do it your way!
Yui's uncle and the Oowada's and Kuro's foster father, much more tempermental than his wife Meav.
an irritable voice that almost sounds constantly tired would be perfect
*frustrated* "Have I taught you boys Nothing?!"
*speech at Daiya's graduation party* "Daiya... even if I haven't really approved of your... extracurricular activities, to get into Hope's Peak Academy is an incredible achievement... I couldn't be more proud to call you my son..."
*exasperated* "Meav, please be serious for once..."
Ran and Mikki's abusive father. Cold and expects nothing but perfection from his children. Sees his son as defective due to his physical weakness.
*agressive* "You are no son of mine... get out of my sight!!"
*hint of irritation* "Don't you have practice?!"
*distraught, angry, grieving* "this is all your fault... all of this is because of you!!
The Russian is the mysterious Chess Master who eventually takes Shiro on as a pupil. Little is known about them but they seem to have a deep and complicated story they would tell you if they had the time. But due to a terminal illness, they do not.
*firmly* Remember, Chess is not a game, it is a war, and you are the commander! you must do your best to protect your people... but you must always know when sacrifices are to be made.
*amused* Your child has great potential, I would like to tutor him further.
*knowingly, as if they learnt the lesson the hard way* real life is a lot like Chess... you need to learn to pick your battles
Cheshire’s nervous wreck of a single father. Abandoned by his wife, he struggles with his humble jewellery practice.
*tiredly* I’m so proud of you... my little Cheshire kitten...
