Depression and Suicide Awareness Project (with dogs!)
Project Overview
Hi there!
In health class we are creating a video about depression and how to deal with bullying. We decieded that we didn't want to go the normal route of making a video with people, so we will be using dogs! Sadly, dogs can't speak english, so we need some voice actors. You don't have to have any prior expirence and this is only for fun, so just enjoy yourself. We will be presenting this video to our class of about 20 kids, so if you'd prefer not to have your voice publicly heard, don't audition (we will also credit you unless you prefer otherwise). This is a story that deals with the issues of depression in a fairly light hearted matter.
-Julia and Sheila
(PS, if you are chosen for any of the roles we will send you the script via email or skype, and you can send us your awesome voice acting)
(PPS, sorry about our name lmao)

Bear is Dewey's older brother. He's helpful and knows what he's talking about.
Hey bro, what's up?
Well, why don’t you go and see Mrs. Mia? Maybe she can help you out. (Reassuring)
Mia is Dewey's teacher. She is warm and motherly; she talks a little slowly.
Hello, Dewey. Is something wrong? You seem upset. (Warm and friendly)
Go to the school psychiatrist Dr. Gamble, I'm sure he can help you more than I can. (Concerned)
Shelby is the bully of this story. She's confident, loud, and has a slight New York accent.
What are you doin’ with that toy, ya dweeb! Everyone here knows this is my toy! Back off, would ya?! *Shelby steals Dewey's toy* (Agressive and sassy)
I didn’t know that what I did affected you so much. I’m sorry. Here, *she tosses the toy back to Dewey* Stay gold, puppyboy. (Sincere and apologelic)
Dewey is our main character, he has some family issues but generally is a happy dog. He's a big dog so he would probably have a deeper voice, but it doesn't matter too much.
I hope mom and dad stop fighting… I wasn’t even able to get my work done because they were hellbent on my own opinion. That certainly isn’t helping my already poor grades. (Sad and annoyed)
Well, uh… you see, there’s a dog that’s been taking my things... she's been calling me mean names too... I'm not really sure what to do. (Nervous and a bit sad)
I’m feeling a lot better now! I can take care of this! (Happy tone)
