Deltarune - In Summary

Project Overview

"Deltarune: In Summary" is a parody that as the title suggests,  summarizes the story of the game in a comedic and awkward fashion and makes a mockery of some of the situations that Kris, Susie, and Ralsei end up dealing with. The video will be split into two 10-15 minutes parts, featuring heavily edited gameplay and illustrations to add a bit more flair to the overall presentation.  My goal here is to exaggerate the character personalities and make fun of the settings that they come across throughout their adventure.

Audition Requirements:

- At least 1 year of experience.

- A decent mic, but more importantly very minimal background noise. Try your best to avoid peaking, background chit-chat, white noise, and reverb.

  • Project Update #8 - Potential Recast, Part 2 Status

    Hello everyone, it's Sum-O once again with yet another project update on Deltarune - In Summary (Part 2). With the project slowly crawling towards an end, we are currently very busy with incorporating plenty into the second half to wrap everything up neatly with a bow. However, we have hit a few snags due to the amount of time animation takes, and the possibility of having to recast. While the role will be reupped and free to take in auditions, there's no guarantee that the recast will be set and stone, but that said I would love to hear any attempts made in the event that we do have to proceed with recasting the character.   • Project Update!

    Hello everyone, it's been awhile! It's Sum-O again just giving an update on the status of the project since the completion of the casting. We're now about 2/3rds into editing Part 1 and are shooting for an upload date of March 31st. It's admittedly been much longer than anticipated but me and Ches (the artist) are excited to show you our work and will let you guys know when the project is done. Once again thank you so much for your auditions as it's been a big help in giving us an idea on where to look for future projects.

  • Update #6 - Current Cast, One Final Thanks, Potential Roles?

    Hello guys! It's Sum-O bringing one final update for now on the project before closing the auditions for the time being. AN ABSOLUTE BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT AUDITIONED. I cannot stress enough how much it helps to listen through every audition for future references whether you were casted or not so Thank You. Current Cast: Please give a big round of applause to the current cast of Deltarune: In Summary! Invidebit as Susie TunnelBerg as Ralsei Tarrelion as Lancer Kody Skinners as Lancer These guys did a fantastic job pulling over there auditions and I'm thrilled to be working with you soon enough! Potential Roles?: Now, one big thing I want to go ahead and get out of the way. There are still some characters that I need to have filled for the project that are either minor or come across as extras. For the roles not listed on this site, I will be contacting actors who performed well enough to the point where I believe they could potentially fit these roles for the project. So hold tight! You may still be onboard the project through another means. That said, we're getting ready to get things started so thank you all so much and I look forward to sharing the final bit somewhere down the line!

  • Update #5 - THREE DAYS REMAINING - Extended Video Length

    Hello everyone, it's Sum-O once again with another update regarding the status of the project! Thank You!: First off I once again want to express my personal thanks to everyone that took the time out of their day to audition for the project. There have been so much amazing talent here and it only makes me that much more excited to collaborate on what will be a wonderful fun time on this video. Extended Video Length: One of the biggest challenges when being faced with writing the script and coming up with ideas for the parody is that Deltarune is a fairly lengthy game with plenty of material to work with. So using the games best moments, while also moving at a fast enough pace to bring in your own comedic stance on the situations isn't easy. There has been so much to pick from, that the script ended up being nearly double the length that I originally anticipated. Clocking in now at nearly 25 mins worth of dialogue, I decided that in order for this project to work, I would need to separate "Deltarune - In Summary" into two parts in order to avoid making the video to lengthy for those who just want to rush through it. If this raises concern for those who were initially going in for the original short length, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to see to it that we can work on it together without any complications. And that's pretty much it for now! This will be the final update until the cast is selected. I wish you all the best and luck!

Susie is your run-of-the-mill bully who initially comes across as a huge jerk towards Kris. As she adventures with him through the dark world, she'll... kind of not be as much of a jerk, I guess? 

She's rude, pushy, lacks discipline, and worst of all has a tendency to fight anyone she comes across, much to Kris and Ralsei's distaste.

To keep it short, I'm looking for someone who can give her a tomboy-esque voice. I want her to sound tough, slightly raspy, and angry half the time yet still somewhat feminine.

  • "I feel bad for you, I really do. But if we're  gonna seal that fountain, then your dads gotta die. I mean, there's this thing up in our world called an adoption clinic, if it really bothers you that much. " - Sincerity

Ralsei is one the main heroes of the story, that'll be accompanying Kris and Susie in their efforts to seal off the fountain. He is intelligent, incredibly friendly, and often tries to assist Kris and Susie by lending his advice on how to handle enemies. Although, in spite of Ralsei's positive personality traits, he is also known to be quite pushy, awkward and has his limits when Susie keeps  trying to attack enemies. 

For Ralsei, I'm looking for something that comes across as slightly nasally, and high-pitched, but not necessarily annoying. He's a pretty optimistic character so I'm looking for someone who can give him energy as well as being able to pull off a nervous tone whenever he becomes embarrassed/shy.

Lancer is one of the antagonists in Deltarune who initially tries to lay the beat down on our heroes. However, he isn't really sure how to actually be a bad guy. From utilizing an army that fails to put up a fight most of the time, to attempting to bribe the heroes with custom-made buckets,  Lancer is a playful little guy  who just doesn't seem to understand much as he is too young to comprehend the entirety of the situation. However, seeing as how he is the son of the king, who at all costs wants to prevent the heroes from sealing the fountain, Lancer is shown to be loyal and will try his best just to impress his father.

For Lancer, his voice can be best described as  child-like. His voice is fully of energy, is generally high pitched, and comes across as obnoxious yet curious.

  • "Wow, was that story boring or what? So, I'm the bad guy who just hit your friend with my bike and my dad told me to stop you two from sealing the fountain. So, let's get started!" - Eager, Joyful

  • "Take a glamour at my beautiful hand-crafted blue basket. It sports my signature spade along with making for a pretty nifty distraction. Too bad, it's not for sale! Later losers!" - Teasing, Mockery 

  • "Hey dad! I'd like you to meet my cool new-fountain-sealing-hero friends! Turns out they weren't as bad as you thought AND they're actually helping us by sealing that big, bad, fountain! Isn't that great?!" - Excited

Not to be confused with Lancer, Lance is Lancer's long lost brother with a mustache and a hard worker to boot. He's incredibly handsome and his manly voice will soothe the ear and persuade anyone to do whatever he wants.

  • "My name is Lance, and I'm currently trying to kickstart a little project that will definitely not lead up to the entire world being swallowed in darkness or anything."
