Project Overview
Dead of the Night is a Horror audio drama created by Mellow connection. the series is set in England, primary the fictional town of Kindrey. any similarities of real world locations and people are all coincidences. the character art was created by the talented JMakesArtticus - Etsy UK
the plot follows Henry shaw. a man who has spent the past sixteen years in London. he has spent this time building up his career as a mortician until one day he has to return to his home town and take care of a personal matter. upon returning henry gets a job at a local funeral home where he works the night shift and begins to notice strange things happening. things go missing, lights flicker and sometimes henry swears he is not alone. as the days past henry begins to uncover that the town of Kindrey is far from a quant little place in the countryside and there is a reason he left so many years ago that he buries away to try and forget.

Henry Shaw is the protagonist of dead of the night, who is returning to his home town after a very long time away. despite being a man in his thirties henry is incredibly socially awkward, he struggles to talk with people and though he means well he can come across as being rude, annoyed or blunt. the way he acts and talks can be attributed with being autistic which is a trait of his character i wish to explore later on in the series.
Henry is a British character and speaks with a slightly middle class London accent. he is well spoken but not so elegant and posh that it is extremely jarring when compared to other characters. Henry is also the witness to the majority of the horrors that his town has to offer so he needs to be able to express true and believable fear.

Louise is a supporting role for the dead of the night series, she is the manager of the funeral home that henry works at. Louise is in her fifties who prides herself on being a somewhat successful woman in her small town and going against the societal norms of being a housewife. Louise isn't wealthy by any means but makes a nice salary that allows her to travel at least once a year.
Louise speaks with a lot of warmth in her tone as she is a naturally caring and kind character, she has a accent that can be compared to be either Cornish, northern, Welsh or even Scottish and Irish. because Kindrey is a fictional town there is a lot of wiggle room for accents as the town doesn't have one specific accent.

Jack Shaw is a supporting character and henrys son. he is sixteen years old and is currently living with his dad for the first time in his life. jack is a sweet child who despite being a teen boy is quite kind and mindful of others. however he is still a teen and can be very reckless and cause trouble at times. he also struggles to connect with his dad but wants to have a relationship with him.
Jacks voice is a mixture of a working class London accent with a hint of the Kindrey accent which can be, Northern, Cornish, Welsh or even Irish. this is because the people of Kindrey do not have one specific accent.

Annette Audin is a supporting character in dead of the night. she is a woman in her 30s who is incredibly beautiful, vain and materialistic. she loves everything that is shiny and expensive and is often seen with a new boyfriend every six months. Annette also has a shady history with people going missing around her. despite her selfish history Annette has a daughter who is non verbal which she adores and is a wonderful mother to.
Annette has a French accent and is very soft spoken, her tone can change from sultry to cruel to motherly depending on who she is talking to. she also talks a little bit strangely, like she isn't always fully there sometimes. which hints to Annette being connected with the strangeness of the town.

Though the first episode is being completely written by me i am going to be in need of some writing assistance in the future. i am looking for some co writers that can help me with writing the series as i have discovered that i work best in a writers room set up. rather than fully writing independently. i will need someone who has a passion for writing and would be alright with working on a project with horror elements.
people can apply for this role by either showing me some of your writing pieces from previous work or your portfolio. this job will not be high demand as i know that people have personal lives and working on a project for free is a big ask. but there will be a schedule with what i am to be bi weekly meetings for writing but can be moved to once a month.
