Dazzling☆Starlight- A Revue Starlight English Cover Group!!
Project Overview
Welcome to Dazzling☆Starlight!
We are a Revue Starlight cover group, and we'll be covering songs in English! The goal is to sound similar to each character, and to imitate the dynamics that their voices have with each other, but you do not have to sound exactly like your character. Please do not hurt your voice doing so! Just choose a character you feel your natural voice sounds the most similar to. If you're unsure, feel free to ask who you may suit and/or audition for multiple characters! You will only be cast as one character, though. We will likely start with a full group song, and then move into revue/insert songs, as well as various small group songs. You do not need to know anything about Revue Starlight to take part in the group, although I'd like you to do some research into your character if cast.
This is a long term project, and as such I ask that you only audition if you feel you have enough time to get your parts in on time! As long as you let me know ahead of time, I'm totally fine with giving extensions, but it is important to please try to get everything in on time. You will likely not participate in every song as we move into revue songs, as most of those are small group/duets. Please also have a decent quality mic, with little to no background noise.

Karen is the protagonist of Revue Starlight!
She has a bright, mezzo-soprano voice, with a wide range.

Hikari is Karen's best friend. She is aloof and generally uninterested in things that aren't related to Karen, theatre, jellyfish, or Mr. White. She does care for her friends though.
Hikari has a mature, light voice. She has a wide range and her voice remains very strong as she gets higher. Listen to "Re: Create" (she's the first soloist and sings the whole second half of the song)

Mahiru is Karen's other best friend. She is easily flustered and usually calm and shy, but is determined and performs with vigor.
Mahiru has a light, high soprano voice. Listen to "Koi no Makyuu" to get a better feel for her voice!

Junna is the serious class president. She has great decision-making and analytical skills, but she is prone to overthinking. She worries about the gap in skill between her and naturally talented people like Maya. She's very close with Nana.
Junna has a deeper voice than that of Mahiru and Karen, and an alto range with good low notes. Her voice has a bit of nasality to it, and most of her parts are belted. Listen to "The Star Knows" to get a better feel for her voice!

Nana is warm and caring, and is often thought of as the mother of the 99th class. Her nickname is "Banana."
Nana has a high, but strong mezzo voice. Her parts can stretch higher, and she usually mixes, as opposed to belting. Listen to "Hoshiboshi no Kizuna" to get a better feel for her voice!

Claudine was a child actress. She has Japanese father and French mother, and often adds French into her sentences. She usually acts very gracefully, but whenever Maya is involved, she becomes very aggressive and competitive, competing with her at every possible opportunity.
Claudine has a very strong voice. There is a decent amount of nasality in her voice and her voice is significantly brighter in tone in comparison to Maya. She belts most of her parts. Listen to "Star Divine -Finale-" (she is the first soloist, starting at the second verse of the song) to get a better feel for her voice!

Maya is reserved and serious, and prideful. She's incredibly talented, practically born for the stage. However, she still cares for her friends, and has a few quirks that make her strange to some. Claudine is the only one Maya sees as worthy to battle.
Maya has a very strong (and loud) voice. Her voice is very dark (and her vowels sit very far back, when she's not careful her vowels occasionally become swallowed), as opposed to Claudine's brighter voice. She belts most of her parts. Listen to "Hokori to Ogori" (she's the second soloist, and sings the whole second half of the song) to get a better feel for her voice!

Futaba is rough, but very kind-hearted. She is childhood friends with Kaoruko, and always takes care of her, so matter how much she complains.
Futaba has one of the deepest voices of the 99th class. Her voice is rough and tomboy-ish, and her lower range is strong. Listen to "Hanasaka Uta" (she's the first soloist, with the deeper voice) to get a better feel for her voice!

Kaoruko is always smiling, and seems very lazy, but is actually incredibly calculating. She excels at traditional Japanese song and dance, and is very reliant on Futaba, her childhood friend.
Kaoruko has a high, slightly nasally voice. She sings with a decent amount of vibrato. Listen to "Hanasaka Uta" (she's the second soloist, with the higher voice) to get a better feel for her voice!
