Dank Note (Death Note Abridged)
Project Overview
Dank Note (a Death Note abriged serise).
Whilst the script (two are currently competing) is still under development, we're looking for voice actors for the majority of the main roles. So, a few of the roles below will have two or more directions for the characters. Feel free to do one audition with both, one audition with one, two auditions with one each, etc. Please don't expect an imidiate response. The likelyhood is that the castings won't be made until July.
Anyway, ahve fun with the lines, throw in some extras if you really want.
P.S: If anyone would like to help with lip syncing, script writing and/or general editing, the team (currently just 5 of us) would greatly appreciate it.
Update 2: Damn, we've had some truely fantastic auditions over the last couple of days. I'd like to thank everyone who has auditioned so far for your fantastic work. It's been a pleasure to listen to you all and I'm sorry we can't cast you all in some regard or another.
Again, we hadden't expected to be casting the roles so soon, but then again, we never expected this level of talent to come along.
Anyway, now it's back to my writing dungeon so I can finish writing, then move on to editing, and then keep tweaking until I finally upload the damn thing.

Well...its Light/Kira.
Whilst there is only one direction for the voice, we encourage you to perhapse think of alternate aproaches and try them out. Feel free to do multiple auditions.
Direction 1: A smooth, soft voice, much like the origional dub. Needs to be able to ''get insense''.
[Starting calmly] And in this new world, I will be ... [go intense/shouty] the new, sexier Jesus!
[Confronting L] You know, some people say not wearing shoes is worse than murder.
[However you'd like] Where is fancy bread? In the heart, or in the head.
She has a very short role (literally these 3 lines), but looking for someone to take these 3 lines and make them gold.
So, cool story, my fiance died.
Why do you keep checking your watch?
[Internally] Oh shit, he’s like a sexy Jesus.
Misa is essencially the big female part of the production. Whilst we like the idea of her origional endlish dub, we're really wanting to be suprised. So: however you want to tackle it, do it.
Direction 1: Slutty as can be. Every line should be said somewhat seductivly.
Direction 2: ''Ditsy blond'', airhead, situpid. Essencialy, play her as a girl who thinks ''murderer'' is a ''model''. Possibly a female Caboose from Red VS Blue.
[Inner monologue] Dear Diary, today, during swimming class, I stayed under water for 35 minutes. I saw no sharks. I am sad.
[On phone, having connection difficulties] What did you say? I heard that you wanted me to stick a cucumber up my-[cut off].
[However you'd like] Where is fancy bread? In the heart, or in the head.
Whilst we'd like a deep, feminine voice, we're open to other tkes on the character.
Direction 1: One idea was to have her be French. But, again, open
[As shes looking at Misa in revealing clothing]...if I had genitals, they'd be doing something right about now.
[Confrontaciona] l see how it is. You want a ''Sexy Jesus'' boy and not the ''Covered in Bones, Creepy Lesbian'' Shirigami.

The listing says male baby, and thats what Matsuda could be.
Direction 1: A cry-baby like character who overreacts and takes offence offten.
Direction 2: The hero of the story. The best detective and general person alive. Will be ignored by those around him.
[Butting into conversation] Hey, guys, I think Light is Kira - [Gets insulted, begins to cry and rambles].
[Relaxing with Light] You know, if you wern't Kira, the mass murderer that I have vowed to end, I think we could have been friends.

L is an odd role. His charcter does as much inner monologuing as Light, and in many ways is equally challanging.
Direction 1: Monotone. Just...just so monotone.
Direction 2: As similarly to the english dub as possible.
Update 1: New Direction: Whislt the previouse two still stand, we are now willing to accept any readings that are inkeeping with the character/are funny, yet suitable.
[Broadcasting over the TV] So you see, if you do find Mr.Woofs, please send him to L. That is the adress and postcode too.
[Confronting Light] Well, those people are idiots, as are all shoe wearers who support capitalism.

''Dad'' Yagami is a comedy character. No matter the evidance pointing to Light as Kira, he is simply unable to put it together.
Please interpret the lines how you like as, whilst we have an idea for the voice, it's subject to change.
Direction 1: Deep, fatherly voice.
[Revelation] Wait! Light killed Naomi Misora, and Kira kiled Naomi Misora. [Thinking] That means...Light is...[triumphantly]...a boy.
[Apprehending suspect] You have the right to remain silent whilst we beat you. Anything you say will be used as encouragment to let us further beat you. You have a right to a lawyer, but we will beat him too.

We have't nailed down exactly which characters will be omited from the serise, so whilst we will put new ones up in future, for now, please audition with the voices below and we will contact you/change the roles later.
·Female voice (possibly Naomi Misora).
·Male voice (possibly Raye Iwamatsu and other male characters not cast for yet).
·Older male (possibly L's buttler, possibly police/random people).
·Other Shirigami (possibly Rem).
·Random voices that could be used by extras.

·Ha, it's funny because they're dead.

Ray only has these two lines, but, Like Naomi, we're looking forward to seeing how you take these and make us laugh, cry, and feel.

The Shirigami. Ryuk is possibly the most debated role within the scripts currently. Please understand that this slot may change quite a lot. Lines, directions and all are still subject to extreme change, so if yo ahve an idea for the character, read out in that style.
Direction 1: ...Again, like the english dub.
Direction 2: Like a fantastic gay-angel.
Direction 3: High pitched and idiotic.
Direction 4: Smooth-voiced, jazzy guy.
[Relaxing onto a bed] Paint me like one of your french girls. But sexier...and with less hair.
[Eating an apple and talking] You know...this apple ain't the only round thing I wanna bite into...IIIIIIIII'm talking about that baby.
