Project Overview

Hey, everyone!

Everyone has something new and interesting to say, but unfortunately it can be a struggle to make those voices heard. It seems like now especially there's more of an investment towards these more familiar characters that have already withstood the test of time.

Even if the work is well done, this is such a tremendous force that it feels like we're losing some voices. A lot of the time the creative arts are devalued; all the obstacles that come with being an artist can seem insurmountable.

I like the thought of bringing ideas to life, there's just something that's magical about that for me.

So I'm developing something called Ingress Studio. It's going to be a variety channel designed to give people the opportunity and the resources to showcase their passion, and introduce them to a mass online audience.

You can find an example of our work here:

There's a few projects in development for it already, that we’re looking forward to showing you!

On paper, it sounds great. In reality, I've been contacting people like crazy for the last three months with less than ideal results. It is a massive undertaking.

But I refuse to let my dreams die, so I've been writing scripts, and editing, and doing visuals, directing, pretty much anything that needs to be done because I don't really know how to ask for help.

That's what I'm doing here: just looking for a few extra hands. I am extremely grateful for the talented and lovely crew that has gotten me so far. I’m just looking for a little more help behind the scenes.

I'm scouting people who can create original content and bring ideas or people who know how to make it look good and connect with the audience: so artists, writers, musicians, actors, animators, editors, graphic designers, web personalities, nothing's out of the question.

I know that a lot of people have busy schedules, and that's fine: I was never intending on this being a full-time stressfest for anybody. You can contribute in your off-time. Ideally this platform is going to end up mostly managing itself.

If this is something you want to lend a hand with, or you're looking for a little more information, please feel free to ask

Somebody I can work very closely with, but more than one person can be accepted. This is someone who can give fair and detailed feedback to the actors, and be decisive when it comes to audio clips. Other responsibilities include collaborating on a schedule and ensuring events follow it.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone with a few years experience in acting, someone who's going to be accountable, organized, and available

  • Do you have any previous experience? If so, explain.

Again, more than one person can be accepted. If you write poetry, scripts, comics, short stories, long stories, skits/sketches, pretty much anything, you're going to be a valuable asset. You'd be the major content creators for the channel, which means you have to be comfortable with sharing your work, and working with others.

You'll most likely be helping edit other works, and in that case the overall rule is respect.

If you have ideas or critiques, I'm not psychic. You will need to be vocal about them, and be able to give and take criticism.

That being said, I strongly believe in positive reinforcement, and so you can't needlessly berate someone's work. Constructive criticism is a good skill to have (some people think this means adding “no offense”, e.g. “no offense but I hate this”, and that's not it at all). Criticism has to be something specific. (e.g. I think that this character's dialogue would be a little less coarse).

Things change as the process goes on, and you have to be okay if the finished product isn't exactly what you start with.

You will also need to be held accountable for your behaviour, and semi-organized.

If you have an example of previous work, I would love it if you emailed me.

If you can play an instrument, sing, or compose music digitally, I have a great amount of respect for you. I would love to bring original music to the channel, and I do believe some projects would benefit from having a score

  • How do you feel about collaborating with others?

you need the ability to work well with others for bigger projects, but for the most part, it is on your own time.

You'd be responsible for character designs, and backgrounds, thumbnail art, comics, however you believe the project should look like to best tell the story so long as you’re working with the writer.

If you lean more towards graphic design and website layout/banners, stuff like that, there’s a place for you too.

If you could email me some of your work, that would be fantastic

A bit of a long shot, but if you have experience cleaning up audio/video, and know how to incorporate effects, it would certainly help.

I love animation, and I'd love to bring it to the channel. Whether it's stop motion, claymation, flash, CG, or flipbook, the ability to bring stories to life is just enchanting.

You would be working closely with the Artists, Directors, and Writers for larger projects, but if you want to go off and do your own thing, that’s completely fine.

If you have an example of your work please send it to me.

  • What are some of the biggest challenges you find when your working?
