Crazy Plot Twist Theatre (Street Fighter/Final Fight Audio Book)

Project Overview

Based off this!: http://archiveofourown.org/works/896169/chapters/1730755

Greetings ya'll! On Archive of Our Own, I found a story in which there are several Street Fighter and Final Fight characters in sketches where several crazy plot twists happen. I figured, why not make into an audio play-esque thing? So, here we are!

RULES:

1. Must have good mic quality. What I mean is I prefer your voice recordings to NOT have any static or background noise of any kind..

2. If you are casted, record each line in individual audio files. Also, please send all your recordings in one folder for organization reasons.

3. Must have an easy method of sending recordings, either thru e-mail or Skype, both of which are listed above.

4. Must take more than one take in each recording. Sometimes there might be instances when I could want a line said differently. This rule mostly applies to those who are casted.

5. Pretend you are in the character's situations. I want you to express the emotions the characters are feeling. Express your words joyfully when they're happy, express them with sorrow when they are sad, etc.

6. And most importantly... HAVE FUN!!

Dan, also known by his full name, Dan Hibiki, is a character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games.

Dan is consistently portrayed as an arrogant, overconfident and utterly feeble character in many of the games he is featured in and he is widely considered to be the comic relief of the series because of his over-the-top poses, battle cries, and overall weak moveset. In essence, Dan is considered to be a joke character.

Dan refuses to back down from any fight, usually out of sheer confidence, though this easily turns to arrogance or sheer stupidity. Although weak, Dan seems to still be somewhat intelligent, possessing some knowledge of fighting styles (despite his mutilation of the martial art rooted from Ansatsuken); he acknowledges in Super Street Fighter IV that E. Honda uses moves that wouldn't actually be considered Sumo, for instance. In certain games, (most notably Street Fighter IV Volt and Street Fighter X Tekken) he instructs the player on how to play and gives tips on how to beat certain characters.

Despite being portrayed as arrogant and cocky, Dan is ultimately good-natured; as an example, he says in his Super Street Fighter IV win quote against T. Hawk that he can relate to being homeless and "totally feels his pain" (despite T. Hawk not minding). Dan sees himself as a fatherly figure and mentor to his friend Sakura, constantly advising her on fighting techniques. He also tends to lecture Blanka, his other friend, about "real manhood" and the Saikyo arts, much to Blanka's bemusement.

Ryu Hoshi

Voice reference, if needed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqbVjfcWXik & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA0CNktMQ7c

Ryu is the lead protagonist and one of the main characters of the Street Fighter series of fighting games. Ryu has made an appearance in every Street Fighter game, as well as in almost every crossover fighting game to feature Capcom characters.

Ryu has become one of the most famous character in the fighting game genre, starring in early fighting games such as Street Fighter and starting to become popular in Street Fighter II, where he was considered a "basic" character. He, along with Mega Man, is considered one of Capcom's unofficial mascots.

Ryu is usually a silent, humble, and serious individual; which is often juxtaposed against the light-hearted, fiery persona of his best friend and oldest rival, Ken. He wanders the globe with the goal of complete mastery of his martial art, and takes both travels and training very seriously. For Ryu, the training and mastery that come from the fight are all that he requires for satisfaction, declining the more material trappings of his various accomplishments as a fighter and simply moving to his next challenge once he is victorious. Though he does not seek the role of a hero, he possesses a similarly strong sense of justice as well.

Due both to this "wandering warrior" persona and being raised far away from modern-day culture, Ryu often appears boring or detached to others. Deep down, he is a kind and good-hearted person who, on rare occasions, shows a sense of humor (albeit a bad one). He also respects others with skills equal to his own; in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, he seems to holds heroic figures like Captain America, Spider-Man and Cyclops in high regard.

In his appearances in the manga adaptation of Street Fighter II, the anime series Street Fighter II V and the UDON Entertainment comics, Ryu would intake large amounts of food if the opportunity presented itself.

There is, however, a dark side to Ryu: His drive to improve himself, no matter the difficulty, risks developing into a drive to win and to be the best at any cost. This darker drive is fed by (and in turn feeds) the Satsui no Hado within him, an influence which Ryu must constantly fight to suppress (at least until the time of Street Fighter III). In times when his inner darkness threatens to overcome him, Ryu relies on his friends and rivals - primarily Ken, Chun-Li, Gouken, Rose, Sagat and Sakura - to keep him grounded and snap him out of it.

By the time of Street Fighter III, Ryu is somewhat more friendly; while still very quiet and reserved, but is willing to greet people with a smile and some kind advice, very much like his master Gouken.

  • The answer lies... in the heart of battle.

  • You must defeat my Dragon Punch to stand a chance!

  • So... are you ready?

M. Bison / Vega

Voice reference, if needed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1YV9Mt9fXQ

M. Bison, known as Vega in Japan, is the main antagonist of the Street Fighter II and Street Fighter Alpha series. In Street Fighter Alpha 3 he refers to himself by the full title of Master Bison ("Vega-sama" in the Japanese version), with Cammy and the Dolls referring to him in the same way as well. Despite M. Bison's followers (and himself) referring to him as "Master Bison" in Street Fighter Alpha 3, he is named "Lord Bison" in his Arcade mode introduction sequence in Street Fighter IV.

M. Bison is an archetypal villain motivated by his own self-seeking interests and lust for absolute power through world domination. He is a ruthless, arrogant and unforgiving dictator who seeks to rule the world with an iron fist whilst also becoming the greatest and most powerful martial artist of all time, (stated in his own pre-boss fight dialogue with Ryu in SFA3), and will readily destroy anyone or anything who prevents him from achieving these goals. Possessing a vast ego and a god complex, Bison is physically incapable of feeling empathy for others and more so takes pleasure in watching people suffer by his hand, never feeling a shred of regret or remorse for the numerous atrocities that he has committed. He occasionally speaks in the third person, and displays a twisted sense of humor, as well as a "business before pleasure" attitude.

As the founder and leader of Shadaloo, M. Bison uses as many illegal methods as possible to achieve his goals, ranging from drug trafficking and arms dealing to terrorism and illegal human experimentation. He is not above using coercion by force (as seen during at least one storyline in Street Fighter Alpha 3) and brainwashing to convert skilled martial artists to his cause, and has even cheated death and returned to wreak havoc not once, but at least twice. While demanding absolute loyalty and obedience from his subordinates, M. Bison considers them as mere pawns rather than human beings, and tolerates his henchmen only as long as they serve his dark ambitions, displaying his lack of regard for human life. For the same reason, he offers to spare others' lives on the condition that they pledge their undying loyalty to him. Unsurprisingly, he has earned the eternal enmity of many other Street Fighter characters for his malevolent and sinister nature. Of course, he usually does not care and tends to consider his numerous enemies as mere nuisances.

Throughout various media, M. Bison is shown as an extremely powerful figure, often justifying his arrogance by being able to simultaneously take out multiple opponents through use of his Psycho Power (and often without it). In the Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie M. Bison soundly defeats Guile, and then proceeds to fight and nearly overpower Ken and Ryu, arrogantly relenting in order to prove his superiority. In Street Fighter: The Movie, M. Bison effortlessly kills plenty of AN soldiers in unarmed combat, but is shown to be no match for Guile and is forced to revert to his electromagnetism-powered suit (the film's stand-in for Psycho Power). The UDON comics show him as more than able to defeat several of the fighters he faces, including a Psycho Power-infused Charlie, and he meets his only match in Akuma. In the Street Fighter Zero 2 HK Comic only, when M. Bison faces Akuma, he performs an attack named "15 Shadows", in which fifteen shadows based on the characters from Street Fighter Alpha 2 (except Sagat, Akuma and himself) appear to grab and hold his enemy.

In his appearances in crossover games, M. Bison has been deemed worthy of respect by villainous characters who would join forces with him, such as Magneto and Geese Howard. Namco Capcom also reveals a curious personality trait - he is hinted to be a lustful man with an interest for women, as all the opponents he choose to copy using Doppel's powers were attractive girls like Chun-Li, Morrigan and Valkyrie (a fact that is also emphasized by the playable party).

  • Now... FACE the mighty Bison!

  • Grovel before my Psycho Power!

  • This place shall be your GRAVE!

Ken, also known by his full name, Ken Masters, is a video game character created by Capcom. He is one of the protagonists and main characters of the Street Fighter series. Ken is also stated to be the second most popular character in the series, coming second to his best friend Ryu. Like Ryu, Ken's goal is to test his power against many different fighters and strive to become stronger but holds more restraint due to not wanting to jeopardize his family life.

While Ryu is the more serious and stoic of the two, Ken is the complete opposite - flamboyant, unorthodox and unpredictable. He is an alpha male with a giant ego and constantly reminds his opponents about his greatness. While he can be brash, egotistical, and arrogant at times, his heart is pure. He is generally kind, friendly, a good person, and very easygoing. He never backs down from a fight no matter how difficult it looks.

Like Ryu, he believes in honor, hard work, endurance, and discipline. He always gives his opponents the utmost respect, whether it is his master Gouken, his best friend Ryu, or his Capcom vs. SNK rival, Terry Bogard. He is also a worrywart when it comes to his family, nearly missing the tournament in Street Fighter IV because he didn't want to leave Eliza so close to her due date, and only entered when she assured him she'd be fine. He still called her to check in and tell her to be careful on stairs.

Rose is a serene, respectful, intelligent, and independent woman who muses quite a lot on destiny and fate. Wise and sophisticated, she is not prone to anger easily, and has a very calm demeanor, even in battle. She states that power is nothing without skill and that she must continue on her path, even if it means to give up her life for the greater good.

She was originally designed by Hidetoshi "Neo_G" Ishizawa and Yoshinori Ono for the canceled fighting game Capcom Fighting All-Stars as one of four original characters.

Ingrid is an extremely powerful being who detests the evil nature of the Satsui no Hado. Wise and intelligent despite her apparent physical age, she also has a playful side which includes the tickling of defeated opponents, yet also displays an unusual lust for power and often comes across as aloof. Furthermore, she holds Ryu and Rose in high regard.

Guy is a video game character in both the Final Fight and Street Fighter series, he serves as a main protagonist of Final Fight series along with Cody. He first appeared in the 1989 beat 'em up Final Fight released and later appeared in the Street Fighter Alpha series. Guy is a red-clad ninpō master of Japanese descent who has been taught the special Bushin form of ninjutsu.

Guy is calm and reserved, with a sharp mind, a noble spirit, and a strong sense of justice. He is a stoic warrior who carries out his duty as a ninja with an almost professional air of detachment; his demeanor in his initial Street Fighter appearances was unusually standoffish, though his aloofness has given way to politeness in more recent portrayals. His grim face rarely shows any emotion, with the most noticeable one being occasional shock, such as when he saw the fate that befell Cody.

Guy dislikes interfering in the lives of others, and believes everything should be left as is, only fighting when he deems it necessary. He is fiercely protective of his allies, as shown by his interactions with Rose, urging her not to sacrifice herself to defeat M. Bison, and rescuing Maki from Bison in her ending.

In the first Final Fight, various dialogue seems to indicate that Guy had a one-track mind, particularly his response to Rolento's proposal: "Mad Gear is evil. I destroy evil". In the Alpha series, during an inner monologue, he flashes back to Metro City during 1989, where his preoccupation with the situation at hand causes him to simply ignores some bosses, who are infuriated by his lack of attention.

According to his win quote against Hakan in Super Street Fighter IV, Guy is a vegetarian, though this conflicts somewhat with the large number of meat items in Final Fight.

Ibuki is a kunoichi (female ninja) in the Street Fighter series.

Even though Ibuki is a well-trained ninja, she is still a normal teenage girl, and states on several occasions that she finds her ninja garments ugly and her daily training strange. She also has a typical interest in boys; in several of her win quotes in Super Street Fighter IV, she evaluates her opponents based on their looks, behavior, and clothing, as well as their fighting performance. She regards Guy in particular as quite a hunk, though she also complains about his non-traditional ninja garb.

In the Street Fighter III series, Alex is the only "boy" Ibuki has shown anything resembling a hint of attraction to; however, though she calls him a "macho stud" in a win quote, she is mainly expressing her disappointment in his loss of "power instinct".

Introduced in Street Fighter II, Chun-Li was the only female character in the game, as well as one of the youngest fighters, and while not as physically powerful as the other characters, she is by far the quickest.

Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku ("Hundred Rending Legs", commonly known as the "Lightning Kick"), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed.

Karin Kanzuki is a character from the Street Fighter series. She was originally a character from the 1996 Street Fighter manga Sakura Ganbaru! authored by Masahiko Nakahira. Her character would be integrated into the video game series in Street Fighter Alpha 3, where she appears as a playable character.

Karin's laugh and mannerisms are derived from the unpleasant "ojou" stereotypes common in anime and manga and "rich person"/"popular schoolgirl"/"spoiled brat" stereotypes of Western animated cartoons and movies; while she typically remains snobbish and haughty as per the standard, other aspects of her personality can vary wildly in other media. In Namco x Capcom, Karin is calmer, more level-headed and cynical, and serves as the voice of reason for the impulsive Sakura (though she still retains her trademark laugh and condescending comments during battle sequences). In the UDON comics, on the other hand, she is extremely hateful and competitive to the point of obsessiveness, making her much more of an antagonist.

Karin usually refers to other people as "commoners", or inferiors. She lives by her motto more than the rest of her family, as she takes majority control of her father's company from under his nose in a hostile takeover (ironic, since he was the one to drive that philosophy into her).

After Karin finds and eventually defeats Sakura in a rematch, she feels that she won only "by chance" and finally admits that Sakura is actually the best of them. Karin then decides to ditch her family's motto of "always winning" (at least when concerning martial arts) and starts to praise fighting itself as more important than victory or defeat, showing a bit of humility.

One of Sakura's Versus mode win quotes in the Street Fighter IV games implies that she and Karin have become friends sometime after Street Fighter Alpha 3.

  • I'll show you the divide in our class.

  • Would you like to be my servant? You may start right now!

Sakura Kasugano is a character in the Street Fighter series who made her debut in Street Fighter Alpha 2. She is a Japanese schoolgirl who has an intense fascination with Ryu. She has managed to copy and learn some of Ryu's techniques, but really wants him to train her personally. She has a friend named Kei Chitose, who attends the same high school and sometimes goes along with Sakura on her street fight tour.

In many aspects, Sakura is very outgoing and respectful in personality, as she is most of the time happy, energetic, cheerful, positive, hard-working and focused in combat. She has a noble spirit and a very determined attitude, either in studies or in martial arts training. She sees Ryu as an idol and teacher, rather than an opponent, since she always watches him fight and mirrors herself on his philosophies in battle.

Although her techniques may seem somewhat "rustic" in comparison to Ryu and Ken, she manages to balance her school work with her trainings in hopes of being accepted as Ryu's student and prove herself by fighting worthy adversaries. In a clean match, Sakura is a very patient and disciplined warrior. She is the embodiment of innocence, and is acknowledged by many fighters to have great potential that may one day match Ryu and Ken in strength when she gets older.

Cody Travers is one of the main protagonists of the Final Fight series along with Guy and Haggar and a recurring character in Street Fighter. He has fought to survive the harsh slums of Metro City since he was a kid.

In Final Fight, Cody is depicted as being a combative, reckless but ultimately positive and good-natured man, having a powerful sense of justice and love for his girlfriend, Jessica. However, in his Street Fighter appearances, after breaking up with Jessica, losing touch with his friends and spending several years in prison, Cody has become extremely apathetic and aloof. He remains pugnacious as ever, occasionally breaking out of prison just to fight and relieve his boredom, and often maintains his generally dismissive air - a major exception being when he finds an opponent that can entertain him.

He interprets his imprisonment as punishment for his ultimately good deeds, and even admits that the idea of achieving any constructive goal (such as overcoming rivals or taking care of family) is lost on him. Cody harbors some internal resentment towards the outside world, musing that he fought solely for the sake of Metro City but ended up imprisoned for it. According to his ending in the Street Fighter IV games, he feels at home in prison. Despite this, and as certain dialogue indicates, while Cody appears to have given up on fighting crime, he still retains his old sense of justice and an enduring (albeit subdued and exhausted) desire to oppose evil.

  • Well now, let's see if we can't do somethin' about my boredom.

Maki Genryusai, more commonly known simply as Maki is a video game character in the Final Fight series and the Street Fighter series. Designed as a speedy ninja along the same lines as Guy, Maki made her first appearance in Final Fight 2 where she is fighting alongside Mike Haggar and Carlos Miyamoto; essentially replacing Guy in that game.

She returned from a long time of absence and obscurity in Capcom vs. SNK 2, which made Maki notable for being the only original character from the Final Fight sequels to make return appearances in later games. Her profile in Final Fight 2 states that she is 20 years old by then, at least in the western versions.

Maki is best described as a hot-blooded girl who loves to get into street fights, staying true to her past as a delinquent. She also acts very cocky and confident towards her opponents, as shown with her taunting them after winning. She dislikes the fact that Guy became the 39th master of Bushin-ryu; thinking she deserved it more than him and wanting to take the title herself.
