Clockwise - Book and Character Introduction
Project Overview
This was the first book I ever wrote, and needless to say, it was awful. I want to rewrite it for my publisher, who's been more or less complaining about the sales. So, here's what I want to do in celebration of what I like to call "Clockwise: Revised." There will be a voice actor for the main characters, as well as a narrator. I've left some links on the roles, as well as added the reference pictures for each character. Try to use Lemony Snicket (the explainer video) as a great example of the setting! This also has nothing to do with my other projects, but I want to do it as an advertisement so that I can make more money to even continue my other projects. This will be shown at book festivals, so make it good!

I want an extremely smooth voice. Once again, as a great example, I would like for you to review Patrick Warburton's part in the show. Use the trailer as a reference. The only difference is that I would like an English accent, rather than a North American one.
[CHAPTER I : PARAGRAPH I : REVISION II]
The school’s blistering bell was loud and was perched right over Sterling Johnson’s head. He was the only freshman in his last period, which was art with Ms. Quaker. She was a middle-aged woman who cared more about her appearance than art itself, and she would always talk about her deadbeat husband while filing at her long, sharp nails. Every single day that she came into school, her clothes coordinated colors and her nails were to match, drumming on the tables with their hollow, monotonous sound.

Sterling Bao Johnson used to live in an old, rickety house that his parents were trying to fix up. He wore black, hated his life, and was the only odd man out in his family, who were all as white as could be and he was half Asian from his dead mother’s side. Used to. He got in a fight with two strange creatures from the Underworld and they open the portal in the lake behind his house, causing him to fall into an adventure that he was never ready for.
[NORMAL]
I'm taking Ladybird with me upstairs, alright? She'll protect me or, you know, something. [waits for response] Okay, I'm sorry! I just wanted to pet the dog. Happy? [waits for a response; the voice becomes confused] Wait, what? I could've just asked? You're unpredictable, Milo. I like you, though.
[WORRIED]
What've you done? Help me out, I can't swim! [waits for response] Are you crazy? This is water, I can't fall through water! Wait, wait, stop! Stop it, let me out! [voice turns to a scream] Daddy, help!
[ANGRY/SHOUTING]
Just tell me what you're doing before you do it! All you think about is yourself, Milo, you never care about any of us! [choking sounds; the voice is in short breaths] I'm--sorry--Milo!

Milo Mecklenburg isn’t what he seems. He isn’t so angry, he might not be so bad, and he definitely wasn’t placed into The Underworld as Milo. Millicent, his former self, was thrown into Rosegold, the land of the rich, when she soon accidentally froze time with her honey-colored, clock-embedded eyes. Millicent ran away, abandoned her meddlemouse, and fled to Inkwell, where she begged Dr. Arachne to turn her into someone new, and all the while became a woodworker that was being hunted by Queen Feng, as well as another ridiculous young woman from Rosegold, Dutchess Hattie Plunkett.
His voice can be played by a higher-toned man or a deeper-toned woman.
[NORMAL]
You need to hide in the clock. Ladybird can lie down in front of it so that nobody looks, alright? If anybody takes her spot, she'll chew their ankle off. [waits for response] I know because she's done it to me, now get inside of it!
[ANGRY]
Hattie, how many times do I have to tell you that I'm a woodworker, not a slave! I don't want to carry your things, and I especially don't want to carry your weight around because you can't do any work! Step up and help or go home!
[LOW VOICE]
Here, let's use chips. The white represents people from Inkwell, the blue is people from Rosegold, and black is Queen Feng's guards. Sterling, you're green, and she's red. If you go through this route, the black chips will catch you. So, your best bet is to-- [wait for response] --exactly right, you go through Rosegold. They're all looking for you in Inkwell, so we'll catch an airship and get out of here. First, I think it's better to get out of this lounge. People here want the reward, and I see a few scanning your back.

Lily Lewis was a young girl who lived on a plantation in her previous life, but when the plantation owner’s daughter, a beautiful, young lady with flowing brown hair and a perfect face, tries to save as many people as she can, these two are the last left in the building that collapses on them. Of course, she never sees this kind woman again because she was put into Rosegold, but Lily was immediately sent to live in Inkwell, where she uses her time to study where this woman could have gone.
[NORMAL]
I don't remember what you told me to remind you to get, Milo. Is that bad? Did you remember? I guess if you remembered you wouldn't have told me to remind you to get it, huh?
[SCREAMING/SHOUTING]
Put him down! He takes care of me, I need him! Milo! [starts crying] Milo, I'm sorry!
[EXCITED]
Oh my God! [whimpers when Milo hits her on the head] I meant goodness! Now we have two dogs? What kind of dog is Gadget? She's super soft! Why is she wearing a dress?

Hattie Plunkett is forceful with Milo. It freaks him out, the way that she’s always trying to send him letters and call him “Apple Pie” to try and be cute. She then comes up with the idea that she’ll go and find him herself, where she gets up into her cart that looks like a Faberge egg and travels to the ugly, cramped up land of Inkwell. It takes her a while, but when she finally finds him, she realizes that she came at the wrong time, as Milo was protecting and hiding Sterling in a clock that he was building.
She should have a very regal voice!
[NORMAL]
So, Sterling, how are you liking the Underworld? Probably not very well because you're stuck in poor man's land, but at least you get a heroic, handsome caretaker like Milo.
[SEDUCTIVE]
Well, you kids can sleep in a room together while Milo comes and sleeps with me, how about that, Apple Pie? [waits for a response; the tone becomes sheepish] Oh, yes, or Milo can sleep with Sterling and Augustus and I can sleep with you and Aggie, uh, great idea, Lily.
[EXCITED]
Oh, Milo! Guess who came to visit you? Did you get my letters? [listens to Milo's snide comeback] Well that isn't a very nice thing to say to your future wife, now is it?

Agatha and Augustus are two oddities in the Underworld. They are Meddlemice, the tiny universe-jumping critters, which are little humans with mice ears, mice feet, and fur covering their bodies. They are the first twins born in the meddlemouse world in a thousand years, and they are an indication that something awful will happen. Their mother tries to keep them in the house, but after they’re both assigned to one boy, they’re forced to leave and summon him.
Either audition for the male or female part! I'll look at both types of voices in this role! Make sure they sound like they're from the Queens! Use this guide!
[NORMAL]
Alright, lemme give you some tips, kid. We's called a meddlemouse. Ever heard of it? It's a half mouse, half human. We's able to travel through worlds, so that's why we're here to take you to the Underworld! Sounds fun, huh? Alright, we're tryna kill you. I have something that you can't live in this realm without, either.
[SASSY/ANNOYED]
So, why's you lost, huh? We gave you a map and everything! Oh, you's tryin' to get back home? Too late for that, really. Come on, kid, keep it together! We, uh, we can help.
[ANGRY]
Oy, get off me! You's a horse's ass sometimes, I'm tellin you, Aggie/Augustus (depends on who you audition for), you really piss me off.
