Chapter 1 The Shadow Over Oloma Deep within the quiet village of Oloma, a small family’s life changed forever. Samuel was a respected and brave hunter, known for venturing into the thickest parts of the forest to provide for his family. He left home early one morning, his hunting rifle slung over his shoulder, promising his wife, Esther, that he would return before sunset. He never made it to the forest. On the lonely road out of the village, a group of ruthless men ambushed and kidnapped him. For three agonizing days, the village searched. On the fourth morning, a group of elders discovered his remains hidden deep within the bush. The brutality of the act shook Oloma to its core—Samuel's body was found, but his head had been taken. Esther’s world shattered. Her cries of grief echoed through the village as she suddenly found herself a widow. At the time, their only daughter, Mary, was just three years old. Too young to understand the dark gravity of death, Mary only knew that her father went into the forest and never walked back through the door.
