CELESTE Full Game Dub
Project Overview
NOTE: After the audition deadline, if there is not a full cast of characters yet, I will make another Casting Call for those characters that remain.
Hello there! I'm Merodii, and I'm here to create a nonprofit project based on the platformer game, CELESTE. CELESTE tells the story of a girl named Madeline, who suffers from anxiety and depression, as she climbs Celeste Mountain to feel normal, and to show she can. The main idea of this project is to dub the entire game, including, but isn't limited to, character dialogue, and voiced parts ingame.
I have included character descriptions and vocal ranges, for good measure. This is not a musical project, but if anything musically occurs, it's good to ensure those are there anyway.
Please have microphone quality that is at least decent, with little to no backround noise whatsoever.

Madeline is a young woman suffering from depression and anxiety. She goes to climb Celeste Mountain to show she can really do something. She is our story's main protagonist.
Her voice, I imagine to be ever so slightly nasally, with a mezzo soprano range if she was ever to sing. (Which I doubt, unless another project comes up where she does.)
(agitated) Well, if an old bat like you can survive out here, I think I'll be fine.
(hesitant) It's like... I'm at the bottom of the ocean. I can't see anything in any direction. It's claustrophobic, yet I feel exposed.

Badeline, or Part of Me, is Madeline's anxiety and depression put into a living being. She acts hostile at first, but is truly afriad for herself and Madeline. For a while, she is our story's antagonist, but as time passes she slowly edges over to Madeline's side.
Her voice, would lose Madeline's nasal altogether, and instead have a lower, yet more sarcastic tone. She would have an alto range if she was to ever sing. (Which I doubt, unless there was another project.)
(Frightened and upset) Fine. You win. I guess you don't need me after all. If you want me to go away, I'll try.
(Agitated) Madeline, sweetie, forget this loser. Face it old man, you're in denial.

Theo is a traveller from the far off land of Seattle, and is a photographer who LOVES selfies. He has an older sister named Alex, who is in Law school. He is our story's side protagonist and good friend to Madeline, as he tries to understand her depression and anxiety, as his sister can relate.
Theo's voice would be mellow and somewhat low, getting slightly higher when excited or happy. He would be a low baritone or bass if he was to ever sing. (Which I doubt, unless there would be another project.)
(Happy) I'm Theo, by the way, an adventurer from a far off land!
(Smug) Mysterious lone wolf type, I get it. I'll just imagine some dark backstory for you.

The old woman lives very close to Celeste Mountain, she's a tad bit senile, but she truly means well, despite teasing Madeline a few times. The old woman is Madeline's main reason for her knowledge of Celeste Mountain.
Her voice can be done by either a male or female, preferrably kept in a higher tone, with a scratchier voice. Her vocal range depends on who voices her if she was ever to sing. (Which I doubt, unless there was another project.)
(Laughing) If my "driveway" almost did you in, the Mountain might be a bit much for you!
(Friendly) The Mountain shows who you really are. Whether you're ready for it or not. It keeps me honest.

Mr. Oshiro is the main concierge of Celeste Resort Hotel. He passed away and is now a ghost who still runs the hotel despite barely any visitors coming to stay. He seems to be in a great deal of denial, not realizing the hotel should have long been closed.
His voice is a little wonky, to say the least. It's both slightly nasally, and a tad bit scratchy. When set off into anger, his voice grows incredibly low and even vicious. His vocal range would be tenor-baritone if he was ever to sing. (Which I doubt, unless there was another project.)
(Excited) Ghost? Don't be silly. I am the concierge of this fine establishment! Welcome to the world-renowned Celest Resort Hotel! Mr. Oshiro, at your service.
(Nervous and Furious) Pathetic?! You only came here to humiliate me... I won't grovel at your feet any longer!

This person is an unnamed character who Madeline apparently calls in a dream. They seem to be related either as siblings, as friends, or as lovers. I suspect they are male, but it is quite hard to tell, so I'll choose to have them be gender-neutral.
Their voice seems to be low and smooth, with a slightly sarcastic tone. Their vocal range depends on whoever voices them if they were to ever sing. (Which I doubt, unless there was another project.)
(Annoyed) Madeline, you only call me when you're panicking in the middle of the night. You don't have to make up a ridiculous story just to get my attention.
(Comforting) Shh it's alright, calm down. I'm sorry, sweetheart. Talk to me.

Madeline's mother is called by her daughter at the end of an ingame chapter. There is little information on her besides trying to help out Madeline with her panic attacks and depression.
Her voice would be sweet, smooth yet shaky, and of course motherly. She also has a slightly nasally tone, like her daughter. Her vocal range is likely mezzo soprano, again, like Madeline.
(Excited) Madeline, what a nice surprise! How's your trip?
(Worried but comforting) Oh no, are you having another panic attack? Focus on your breathing honey, I'm here. What's going on?
