Casting Call for Anime Game Actresses!

Project Overview

Sad Panda Studios, an indie game dev team of 3, is looking to commission a few voice actresses to lend their wonderful talents to our game ’Crush Crush’. You can check it out here:http://store.steampowered.com/app/459820

It has over 2.7 million gameplays on Kongregate, 3 million on Nutaku, and 8 million on Steam.


We have a character set of 9 female characters that we are looking to add unique voices for. Character descriptions are below, along with their audition lines. We would like to open up auditions to anyone who would like to try one, two, or all of the characters. Auditions will run November to the end of December. Then, we will go through all of the clips sent in and will decide on our ‘matches’ the last week of January. Please note, this is a dating game so there will be the full gamut of cute to sexy dialogue. We will have adult themes in some versions of our game, therefor we ask that only female actresses who are 18 and older apply. While the theme of the game is very lighthearted and fun, you must be comfortable with delivering mature and sometimes risqué dialogue. There are examples below if you’re unclear what we mean.


Please try to record it as close to your speaking part as possible so there is no long silence at the end of your clips. It’s also very important that you have a good mic with no background noise; we’re looking for high quality semi-pro or pro auditions.

**One last, very important note, is that we request that you do not send attachments in your email (as they can get pretty big). We’d prefer either a web link to your audio file, or having it sent through wetransfer.com ...That just makes it easier so our Inbox doesn’t get full of large audio files. Thank you!**


If chosen, you will be emailed a contract with details of how many lines we need and how compensation will work. We’re a small studio making free games in our personal time, so we can’t promise big studio prices but we’ll work with you to find something you’re comfortable with. The total number of lines is around 250 per character (or 2000 words). There are plans to include many of the same characters in another game we’re developing, so future opportunities to do more voice work will be needed.

  • That's a wrap!

    Hello all you talented, talented people. Sad Panda Studios is pleased and a bit shell shocked to announce that we’ve cast our game “Crush Crush”, and are closing submissions. But we need to let you all know just how thankful and humbled we’ve been at the response we received. We can’t tell you how much fun (and how much turmoil) it’s been going through so many amazing auditions and trying to pick our favorites. I know that sounds like a mega-cliche, but some auditions were so funny that we cried laughing, and some were so heartfelt that we were just sort of stunned. And in some cases - the performances we heard caused us to re-look at the characters, and consider perhaps that the performer understood their appeal even better than we did. We’re so overwhelming grateful that everyone took the time to audition, and in some cases provided additional lines and performances while we were forming our shortlists. It actually breaks our heart that we had to choose some over others. Our deepest thanks to everyone for your time and talent, and we hope you all will keep your eyes open for future voice work from our little studio. Sutra: A strong warrior type, like Xena or Brienne of Tarth, who shows little emotion but has a very intriguing accent. Her appearance is muscular and intense Grace Jones vibe (from Conan the Barbarian). We’re open to hearing a different type of accent, so long as she has a dangerous otherword-ly feel. One more example is 'Garnet' from Steven Universe.


  • Try not to stress over the fact that the world may end if you fail. Stressing is not good for the digestion.
