Cassandra's Untangled Adventure Musical Fanfiction

Cassandra is the main character of the story. Those who audition should be comfortable performing alto notes and sometimes soprano, in an effort to mimic Eden Espinosa's amazing voice from Tangled: The Series. It is also asked that those who audition be part of the LGBTQ+ Community, as Cassandra's sexuality is a big part of her character arc. Payment is $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing, and a cover of "Waiting in the Wings" would be requested for the audition.

A lead role, Lady Caine is a lesbian pirate who starts off as morally ambiguous and slowly falls for the main character. Her songs require a more hardcore tone, as well as the ability to sound like the character from the series (her clips can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaN62BRynWI). If submitting an audition, a cover of a rock song would be requested as well as a reading of any three lines from the linked video that the applicant chooses. Given her sexual orientation, I would like to, if possible, hire someone who identifies as lesbian or bisexual/pansexual.

Anana is a major character. Her ethnicity is this work's equivalent of Native American/Indigenous, so I would like to keep it as accurate as possible in that regard. She is from the Intuk Village, a secretive people who live in northern Galcrest and has a complicated relationship with her husband. Anana is bisexual, so again, if possible, I would prefer if those auditioning for Anana were LGBT+. Those auditioning would be asked to submit a song cover of "With You By My Side" from Tangled: The Series, and should be able to sing comfortably in an alto voice range. Her songs are usually emotional, so singers should be able to showcase that should they portray her.

Becca is a warrior woman from Ingvarr who is part of the mysterious group called Shadowclan. She is known for her temper and her incredible fighting ability and strength, and is pansexual. Those who audition for her should be comfortable in an alto range and should submit a cover of a rock song, and for the sake of representation it is asked that those who audition be pansexual. Payment is $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing.

Pocket is the closeted homosexual first mate of Lady Caine, and is a major character. He has low self-esteem and feels ignored by his captain, so he is encouraged by a man whom he crushes on to take matters into his own hands. Anyone auditioning for Pocket should be able to apply a gravelly voice that matches the one Jess Harnell used in the attached clip near the beginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaN62BRynWI. Pocket's songs are a bit more rough, and the singer should be able to maintain the desired voice while singing in order to give a raw effect. For any auditions, I would ask for a line reading of his "Lady Caine, what is it?" from the attached clip, as well as a cover of any rock song.

Fletcher is a mysterious ferryman with an intense past. He is an expert marksman and has a unique connection to Cassandra. He is middle-aged and has a slightly hoarse voice. Those who audition should be able to sing tenor notes as well as make their voice sound a bit older. It would be requested that auditions include a cover of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid.

Payment is, like the other roles, $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing.

Vezabiel is a major character. A sleazy conman and open homosexual, Vez is out to impress his abusive ex-boyfriend. But he instead finds himself falling for his mark, Pocket. Singers for Vezabiel should be able to sing in a high tenor, as well as sing quickly, as his first song is similar to rap at times. Those who audition would be asked to include a more flamboyant song cover of their choosing, particularly one that could involve fast speaking. Perhaps "You're Welcome" from Moana.

Sir Gradden is a chauvinistic knight who has led a sheltered life despite his profession. Knighted for something remarkably simple, he is in way over his head and he is aware of it. Despite his innate sexism and ignorance, he faces a slow redemption arc in that he tries to prove himself worthy of being a knight. Singers for Gradden should be able to sing comfortably in a tenor range, and I would ask that those who submit auditions attach a cover of them performing any Disney song.

Meriah is the youngest daughter of the Queen of Ingvarr, who shelters her and keeps her inside as much as possible due to Meriah's clumsiness. She wants to see the world and strives to find her own place.

Ludo is a young member of the mysterious Shadowclan, but he is incredibly skilled at dual-wielding, and is a force to be reckoned with. Despite this, he is more reasonable and sensitive than the other members, and has a ponderous vulnerability to him. I'm looking for a youthful voice that can handle tenor vocals, and I would request that those who audition either cover "Let Me Make You Proud" from Tangled or "Go The Distance" from Hercules-- your choice! Whichever you think would better showcase your abilities! It is a paid project, and payment is $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing.

The Mogul is one of the primary antagonists of the series. A former rival of the Baron, the Mogul did not face much success until the Baron's imprisonment and collapse of his empire. The Mogul is ambitious and will go to any means possible to outdo his old rival and cement his power. He has a very deep voice and auditions for him should be able to sing in a low tenor or bass range. I would ask that auditions for him attach a song cover in either low tenor or bass.

Tulista is a middle-aged woman who has retained much of her beauty and elegance, despite being poor. She helped raise Lady Caine, and prefers to live remotely, where she has expertise in medicine and has a friendly but occasionally sarcastic personality. Tulista is a minor role but the pay rate is still $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing. Those who audition can cover any song that they would like.

Skullo is a young mage from Neserdnia and member of Lady Caine's pirate crew. He is still learning how to perform magic, and despite being one of the more morally sound members of the crew, he still has flimsy loyalty. He also has a crush on bounty hunter Ampia, which makes him slightly awkward at times.

Skullo is a minor role, but still necessary to cast, and will sing a couple of times in the series. The pay, as with the others, is $30 USD for thirty seconds of singing. Those who audition for Skullo should be comfortable in a tenor range, and a song cover would be requested of the beginning of "Ready As I'll Ever Be" (just Varian's first verse at the very beginning).

Killer is a minor character who appears in a fun song with his lover, Bruiser. He is a former thug who opened up a tailor's shop with his lover, and together they are quite happy. Those who audition for Killer should be comfortable singing in a tenor range, and auditions would be asked to include a cover of part of "I've Got a Dream" from Tangled.

Sakari is a young Intuk woman and a gifted healer. Hating being confined to her village, she left to see if she could help other people with their conditions. Unfortunately, though, her leaving also meant breaking up with her girlfriend, Anana, when Anana refused to go with her. Now she has a new girlfriend, a very outgoing one. Sakari only appears in one or two group songs, and she has an element of uncertainty and thoughtfulness in her tone which those who audition should be able to play. Since she is of Intuk culture-- and the Intuk have the same ethnicity as First Nations people in real life-- it would be ideal for someone of that ethnicity to play the character, even better if they identify as queer. The payment is $30 USD for thirty seconds of singing, and the audition would request a cover of "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas, as I feel that song best captures Sakari's tone.

Alexys is Becca's bitter ex-girlfriend from Ingvarr. Currently dating Sakari, Anana's ex, she's quite flamboyant and over-the-top. When she runs into Becca again, she most notably sings a passive-aggressive song about how great she's doing without her. Those who audition for Alexys should be comfortable in an alto range and with belting, and should be able to lean into the flamboyant aspect. Payment is $30 USD for 30 seconds of singing, and auditions are asked to include part of a cover of "The Gift of Night" from Elena of Avalor.

I'm looking for someone who can be involved long-term in creating the artwork for this project! The artstyle MUST be a replication of the artstyle from the original Tangled: The Series, and any interested parties would be asked to email me, first, some samples of their work. If I decide to go further I would ask for a coloured and shaded drawing of the character Cassandra (preferably black-haired Cass) in any pose, any outfit, and with any facial expression. This is to test whether or not the applicant is able to maintain the artstyle in different poses. As a second part of the audition, I would want to ensure that the artist is able to draw certain backgrounds in the same artstyle as the show. So I would ask for a drawing of a forest scene using the same artstyle as the show (I'll provide examples for reference if we get to this point).

Now, I want to clarify! I have a separate artist who is designing the new characters and creating character models for this applicant to work from, so you wouldn't be designing the characters from scratch; just moving them around in certain cover art or thumbnails for the songs. This is not animation, just still images.

This project is PAID, and I use PayPal to send money. Rates are negotiable, but if someone doesn't have their own rate, I have it set to $60 USD per commission, as there are a lot of commissions that I'll be doing (more than fifty). Some songs have multiple drawings set for them. I'm also just an independent creator, and don't have a LOT of money lol (although I have sunk quite a bit into this project).

Like I said before, this project is long-term and I'm hoping to have it released next spring (2024).
