CANDY | Sims 4 Machinima Series - Episode 2

Project Overview

Hi! Welcome to the casting call for Episode 2 of my Sims 4 Machinima series, CANDY! The first episode is already out, and I'll include a link so you can see what the series looks like and get a sense of the storyline. For those unfamiliar with Sims Machinimas, they take time to create, but I’m doing my best to keep you updated on my progress. This casting call is primarily for extra and minor characters, but there is one character, Lou, who will play a more significant role in the series. Please, read the project description before auditioning!

Synopsis: In the quiet town of Blossom Creek, the enigmatic and a bit chaotic Candy arrives at a new high school, only to discover that her former summer love, Ji Eun, who heartlessly broke up with her through a text message, is now an intern there. Their reunion coincides with a wave of murders, gang riots, and kidnappings. Together, they must navigate the chaos of their personal lives while unraveling the mysteries that threaten to shatter their beloved town and its surroundings.

Genre: mystery, drama, romance

Important: The series includes sensitive topics such as violence, murder, partial nudity, mental illnesses, drug and alcohol abuse, overdosing, sex scenes (not too explicit) and heavy swearing. If you find any of those topics triggering, this project may not be for you. (UPDATE: I will strive to make this series as much YouTube-policy friendly as possible to avoid any issues and the possibility of the video being blocked, so I will ensure that the episodes ultimately are not 'R' rated.)

[The accents in the characters' descriptions are just a suggestion. If you have a different accent, you're still free to audition.]

Rules:

-Clear audio: Be sure to denoise your audio before sending the audition. I’m okay with auditions recorded with smartphones as long as the quality is good.

-Show emotions: I kindly request that you do not send auditions where you simply read the lines. It's not what I'm looking for. Be prepared that in some roles you will have to scream.

-I DO NOT work with homophobes, racists, transphobes, etc. so if you’re not okay with LGBTQ+ content and POC characters, DO NOT audition.

-Once you’re cast, stick to the deadline. I usually give 1-2 months to record all needed lines and I’m okay with extensions, but if you decide to ghost me, I will be forced to find a replacement.

-Repeat each line 2-3 times

-You can change lines a bit if you feel they will sound better.

-Take time to read the character’s descriptions so you could be able to portray them more realistically.

-The most important one - have fun! I’m doing this project for fun and I’m hoping that I can give you some nice characters to play:)

  • New Deadline and Two New Roles

    I’ve changed the deadline to October 11, as the production process is moving faster than expected. You still have some time to audition, but if you need an extension, please let me know. I wouldn’t want anyone to miss the opportunity to audition.

    I’ve also added two extra roles: Eryk and Stefania. These are small roles, appearing in the memories of one of the main characters. Warning: if you’re uncomfortable voicing characters with RATHER conflicted morality, these roles may not be for you.

General info: Lou is an eighteen-year-old girl living in the small town of Blossom Creek, California. Not much is known about her family, except that her mother passed away some time ago and her father is rumored to be involved in criminal activities.

Backstory: Lou was born in Blossom Creek and has never really left the town. Her family life is complicated, with an aggressive father she often argues with. She had a deep connection with her mother, who passed away from cancer two years before the main events of the story. Additionally, she recently lost another person who was very important to her.

Personality: Despite life's difficulties, Lou has always been a strong fighter with a determined will to create a peaceful life for herself. She's independent and, despite her young age, already earns money as an artist. She dreams of studying art in the future. However, Lou can also be temperamental and secretive, traits that often lead her to self-sabotage.

General info: Nadia Adkins is a twenty-seven-year-old woman living in West Deltown (California, USA), a small town near Blossom Creek. She teaches math at West Deltown High, a prestigious private school. Nadia has an eight-year-old daughter, Amy, with her ex-husband, from whom she divorced five years ago.

Backstory: Nadia had a peaceful and happy childhood, with the freedom to explore different hobbies and activities to discover her passions. She’s always been interested in science and excelled in school. However, life took a turn when she became pregnant at eighteen by her boyfriend, who later became her husband. With the support of her family and partner, they married when she was twenty but sadly divorced two years later after he cheated on her.

Personality: Nadia has had many unpleasant experiences with love and dating, so she’s currently focusing on herself and her daughter. The challenges she faced have shaped her into the person she is today — a confident and balanced woman who is always ready to support others in their struggles. She is known for her positive outlook on life, as well as her sharp tongue and immense honesty.

General info: Mateo is a sixteen-year-old boy living in Blossom Creek (California, USA) where he was born and raised. His parents emigrated from Mexico long before his birth. He currently lives with his mother and older sister, Gemma. Like his sister, he doesn’t have a strong relationship with their father. Mateo has many friends, but unfortunately, some of them are problematic and have a negative influence on him, with a few even being involved in criminal activities.

Backstory: Mateo has always been considered the “favorite child” of the family. His social personality makes him well-liked, and connecting with others comes naturally to him. He's always been passionate about exercising and martial arts, but lately, he hasn’t been pursuing those interests. Instead, he spends most of his time trying to impress his new, suspicious friends.

Personality: Besides being sociable, Mateo has a knack for getting out of dangerous situations and quickly adapting to new groups. Unfortunately, he's currently quite conflicted and pessimistic about the future, and the ongoing uncertainty in his town only worsens his outlook.

Joan, a known bully at West Deltown High, believes she has the right to expose Lou and her family's secrets, thinking it will protect the school. She comes across as quarrelsome and aggressive.

Eryk is Arabella’s father, a successful banker and a traveler. He’s cunning and uses all occasions to gain wealth in a tricky way like avoiding taxes. Nonetheless, he succeed in gaining an enormous wealth and becoming highly respected businessman. However, his personal life doesn’t look so great, due to his negligence and hot-headedness. He prioritizes his good name over his daughter and wife’s happiness and never admits his mistakes.


Important:

-The character is abusive, and there will be a scene that could be triggering for people who have experienced similar situations (abuse). It won’t be overly graphic or extreme, but I wanted to give you a warning, just in case. Additionally, you should be comfortable with scenes involving screaming.

-The role of Eryk is small and consists of only 4 lines.

Stefania is Arabella’s mother, of Eastern European and Romani origin. In her youth, she used to smile a lot, and dancing was her biggest passion. Unfortunately, her marriage shattered her inner peace and all the hopes she once had. Stefania had high expectations for her daughter, Arabella, and did not approve of her relationship with a boyfriend from a working-class background. As for the present, her fate is unknown, as Arabella eventually cut her out of her life.
