Cal-Nev-Ari - Fallout: New Vegas project
Project Overview
Cal-Nev-Ari is an upcoming project of mine for Fallout: New Vegas that adds a brand new settlement in the southern area of the map. Fully-fledged quests and interiors will be included, alongside a large cast of characters. I've worked on it intermittently since March 2017, and I'm finally wrapping up its development. One of the last details I need for completion is a batch of voice actors to give life to the town's characters. I'm willing to work with any voice actor no matter what, so if you're interested, you're more than welcome to audition.
More characters will be added over time, so if you don't see anyone that's your style, you can monitor the page to see if a new character suits you.

Finale
All of the mod's gameplay and assorted bug fixes are complete. I just need to wrap up work with VAs then it'll be done! This was a big project, especially for a newcomer like me, that had some bumps along the way but we're very very close to finally finishing it. All remaining roles have been casted, so if you were selected, keep an eye on your private messages. There's just two more characters that need a voice, and I've posted them to the top of the page. Thanks for your continued support and interest in this project! -
Update 12/20
Problems in my personal life have developed and I'm afraid this project might crawl into 2018. A loss came into our family and that will need to be the priority for a little while. If I've casted you and not sent anything, please don't worry as a script will be delivered to you at some point. Thanks for your patience and ongoing interest in the mod. -
Update 9/26
Real life has dominated my schedule as of late, but in the coming weeks, I should have more time to focus on wrapping up this mod. I've given the deadline another month, and will be adding more characters to this page ASAP. Thanks for your interest in this project!
Craig is Mayor Hansen's personal bodyguard. While he is dedicated to his job, it's still just a job and is willing to abandon it for his own safety. His voice should be somewhat jaded but still prone to emotions.
Talk to the Mayor, not me.
These old bones ain't wantin' to move. Probably just junkie kids anyway.
I ain't fixin' to take bribes today. Now go on before I report ya.
Ezekiel is the mentally challenged brother of Martin Donahue. Without proper medical diagnosis, nobody really knows what's wrong with him, but they've just accepted his condition anyway. He isn't aware of his surroundings and mostly lives in his own little world.
Zeke. I'm Zeke. That's my name.
Buhbye.
Hansen is the current mayor of Cal-Nev-Ari. A firm leader but with unconvential rules including banning women from residency, and an incredibly specific request for crop output. His voice should be warm and welcoming, but easy to turn if angered.
Hello, and welcome to Cal-Nev-Ari. How can Mayor Hansen help you?
Edward runs a tight ship over at High Risers' - best meals around. There's also the motel, but Segali doesn't have any vacancies.
Great. Just head straight from Colby's garage, you can't miss it.
Orville has known Hansen since the mayor's birth, and is more than willing to assist his friend with office duties - easy work for someone his age. His voice should be somewhat aged, but with a little humor left in him.
Well, sure. There's a couple of bounties that need completion if you're up to it.
The Sims were good people. It's nice to have a bit of vengeance for them. Thanks.
Edward runs High Risers', the town's bar and restaurant. He serves drinks and picks up a number of gossip and news from inside & outside the town. Not much is needed for his voice - he's just your typical bartender.
Edward doesn't start any quests, but is a vendor for Cal-Nev-Ari.
Welcome to High Risers', what can I get ya?
I run the only bar in town, man. Naturally I'll pick up on stuff, from the mundane to the really juicy items.
Come again.
Segali runs the motel in Cal-Nev-Ari. A former mechanic, he smashed his hand while closing a door and was demoted to desk work. Segali has a fairly standard voice, anything natural will work.
Delta-45 out there in the center's my baby. I set him up a couple months ago after Orville suggested I do something with a scrap eyebot I had.
If you could just confirm what went on in there, I'd be much obliged.
Sounds to me like you're wanting to pick up where he left off.
Grimmer is a drifter on the run from the New California Republic. He was falsely accused of murdering an aide to one of the Republic's many senators. Despite this, he has maintained a positive attitude, and his voice should reflect that as well as being calm & introspective.
In any case, thank you informing me about this. We'll head north to Moapa, then continue eastward once everything's packed.
Jamie's my traveling partner. He was stabbed by one of the thugs outside and has a pretty nasty shoulder wound. But everything's going to get better for him.
Faust is a junkie living in North Vegas. He is employed to NCR Senator Oscar Tigrent, and is the definition of a pawn. A tool used for dirty work, Faust's voice should be high pitched yet strung out.
Fuck you, go die!
Aww shit, man! He's at the Gomorrah! The smoke room's his. Please don't hurt me!
Oscar Tigrent is a Senator for the New California Republic. He's arrived in New Vegas by request of the NCR Embassy, and rented the smoke room in Gomorrah for personal use. Tigrent embodies self-importance, corruption, and misguidedness - his voice should be fairly deep and charismatic.
I don't like your tone - but I'm fascinated that you have enough balls to speak to me like that.
Nice to see you're choosing the right side of history. There is a way you could help me, and you'll be adequately paid, of course.
God dammit. What have I done?
Colby is the repairman of Cal-Nev-Ari, filling Segali's role after he was forced to retire. He occupies an old Tri-State Rest Stop on the edge of town, having inherited it from his father. Colby is fairly young and should have a standard voice.
I'm Colby. When things break around town, people come to me.
Sure thing, let me take a look.
Sonder is the leader of a gang of Jackals in South Vegas. Your typical raider boss, he should be tough and commanding.
What the fuck is this? I hear screaming and gunshots down there, and now you come up?
Busting up my guys isn't the smartest idea, pal.
Bonnie Lee is the sister of Cal-Nev-Ari's weapon salesman, Rattle. Depending on choices made in the game, she may set up shop with her brother as a doctor. This is a fairly easy role; she should have a slight southern twang to her voice,
I'll fix you up right quick.
Rattle sent the invitation and I showed up. Not much else to it.
Finton is something akin to the village idiot -- he has been addicted to chems for much of his life and isn't all there upstairs. Despite this, he has dedicated himself to his livestock with undying care, so he gets to stay in town. Finton's voice should be approached as you would with other junkie characters.
They're my babies, man. Nobody else wants to do it, so ol' Finton gets to love and nourish the Brahmin!
Richard Sanada is the town's priest, recently taken hostage by two lovers demanding that he ordain their marriage. He can be rescued if the player advances through a bounty-hunting quest. Sanada's voice should be soft and comforting.
You have my thanks, friend. I wasn't sure what they were going to do with me.
Yes, I'm fine. Just a bit shaken up is all. I'll be fine to head home on my own. Thank you again.
Erica is a tough mercenary and traveling partner of Frankie. Together, they plan to overthrow Mayor Hansen and remove Caesar's Legion influence on the town.
Now isn't exactly the best time.
Things have been good. Took a while for folks to adjust to the new management, but there's been an uptick in residency.
Frankie is a strict, hard-faced traveler who saw Cal-Nev-Ari's current situation as a redeemable plight, solved by removing its administration under Hansen. His voice should be serious and commanding, but not without emotion and sympathy for the townspeople.
What are you doing here?
If you're wanting to help, then yes, there is a task that would help us enormously.
Let's go.
This here's the jail of Cal-Nev-Ari. All the bad eggs end up here one way or another.
Eh? Her? Just some dumb Jackal high off her ass we brought in recently.
Fine. Go ahead and take your caps. There goes my fucking salary...
Haha, yes, actually. Ezekiel and I were spelunking in Walking Box Cavern the other day when we realized that a family heirloom was missing.
He's...not all there upstairs. Been like that since he was born, and never really knew why.
