Blend-S | English Manga Fandub

Project Overview

Hello! We are wanting to make an English fandub of the Japanese manga "Blend-S". We will be gathering voice actors/actresses to record English lines for all the characters, and that's where you come in! For those who haven't seen it, Blend-S follows the employees of Café Stile, a maid café where all the waitresses portray specific personality traits (ie. tsundere, sadistic). The manga is a goofy slice-of-life comedy with many exaggerated situations, so prepare to exert your voice a little bit! 

Requirements:

  • Must have good mic quality, with little to no background noise, and no clipping/peaking
  • Must be age 15+
  • Most, if not all roles will require some shouting and heavy exaggeration
  • Include 2-3 takes of each line in your audition
  • You can audition for more than one role
  • If you land a role, you must have Discord for communication situations

  • Casting Update

    First of all, thanks to everyone who auditioned! We've seen some great submissions and we truly appreciate it!

    We've cast the majority of the roles, however seeing as the roles of Hideri and Ayato won't be needed for some time, we're going to be keeping the roles open. We don't want to waste anybody's time, and we'll be casting these roles closer to when they'll be needed.

    One more thing, since we'll be needing multiple extras, we'll also be keeping that role open and reaching out to people as we need them.

    Thanks to everyone following this project, we'll try our hardest to make a great end product for you all!

Maika plays the Sadistic role in the café. Her personality is quite the opposite, however, because she is very sweet and hates making people feel sad. She is kind and caring, but has a menacing look in her eyes she can't control. She is also fairly naive in most mature situations. 

Maika's voice is normally quite high and light, but she can really take it down for her sadism role.

  • (dejectedly) "Another flop of a job interview..." (in thought) "Looks like the glasses didn't work as camouflage. Is it all because of this look in my eye?"

  • (sweetly) “Manager…” (flip to cold and sadistic) “You have droopy eyes, huh? Extremely droopy eyes. Anything could be forgiven with those kind, droopy eyes. I wish I could trade to get your droopy eyes.”

  • (trying to act sadistic, nervous, slowly breaking down) “Y-You’ve come back again? Y-You trash… M-Mister scum… i-insect… Y-You’ll make the table and chair filthy. S-so sit on the floor… please.” (starts crying) “I’m sorry! I can’t do it!”

Kaho Hinata

Kaho plays the Tsundere role in the café. However, she is very nice and supportive of her friends. She loves video games, which tend to distract her from work.

Kaho's voice is fairly energetic, but can get somewhat high pitched when she gets flustered talking to customers.

  • (cheerful) Oh, that’s right! We haven’t introduced ourselves yet! I’m Kaho Hinata. I’m the hostess. Nice to meet you!

  • (tsundere, shy) I wasn’t waiting for you especially… but there happens to be empty seats, so why not grab one?

  • (tsundere, flustered/fed up) This thing! You’ll see what I do with your character! This and this! I’ll connect you to the internet! I’ll make the character’s name “Aaaah”! A-A-A-A, then I’ll set it and it’s done! As a test, I added myself as your friend, so be grateful!

Mafuyu Hoshikawa

Mafuyu plays the Little Sister role in the café. When not working, Mafuyu is known to have a cold personality, mostly giving dry responses to people when she isn't working and being rather intimidating, even though she's the shortest. 

Mafuyu's voice is normally somewhat high, but is spoken very flat and disinterested. However, when she is talking to customers, her voice goes very high and energetic.

  • (coldly) I’m a college student. I can tell what you were thinking.

  • (Cutesy, in character)  Eh? Chat app? What's that? Mafuyu's mom still hasn't let her use a cell phone yet, so... I don't really get it~! Please come again!

  • (Competitive) I won’t let any sacred children’s anime merchandise go to a guy who changes waifus every three months!

Miu Amano

Miu plays the Big Sister role in the café. She writes adult manga based on situations around her, so she can be quite nosy. She is somewhat insensitive, but normally polite.

Miu's voice is sultry and calm, but she starts to get very promiscuous when talking to customers.

  • (Sultry) Are there any vegetables you don't like on your sandwich? I'll make a note to keep them off your order~

  • (Enthusiastic, creepy) I enjoy looking at the mountain and observing people... I get to see situations I can later use as material!

  • (Creepily passionate) Indecent?! A pure and reserved girl having an indecent dream! How exciting!

Hideri plays the Idol role in the café. He is actually a boy who always acts and dresses like a girl. He has a very spunky and nosy personality, often being very friendly and sarcastic to his coworkers. 

Hideri's voice is cutesy and confident, however, when upset or uncomfortable, his masculine voice can come out slightly.

  • (Passionate) My dream is to be a cute idol... I think God granted me this cuteness so that I can achieve that!

  • (Threatening, somewhat manly) You bastard... you barely had any reaction to my cuteness when you first saw me. You'll be the first to go.

  • (Crying) Akizuki... I've never eaten such a love-filled parfait... you're so passionate~!

Dino is the manager and part of the kitchen staff at the café. He can be loud and spontaneous at times, but is overall a laid back person. He cares about his employees; especially Maika, whom he's had feelings for since he first saw her.

Dino's voice is on the lower pitched side with a slight suave tone when he's relaxed, but can get a little screamy when he's excited.

  • (Extremely dramatic) You… can call me Dino… Roma!! I’m kitchen staff… and also… the store manager!! I’m looking forward to a long-lasting relationship.


  • (Angry and competitive) I won’t let anyone else have a Magical Girl figure, not even you, Mafuyu!

  • (Nervous) Erm... excuse me...(Intensely screaming) I love you!!!

Akizuki is the main chef in the café, and is usually quite irritable, especially towards Dino. He is extremely passionate about anime, and can also be quite competitive.

Akizuki's voice is fairly low pitched and overburdened, except when he's yelling which can be quite intense.

  • (Cynical) There aren't enough hands in the kitchen, but at this point, anyone can do kitchen work for all I care.

  • (Furious) What are you doing?! You’re too slow! Set out the five salad plates now! After that, wash the dishes and put ‘em away!

  • (Excited) If girls come to a place like this... they’d feed each other bites of sweets, or share them, of course! I desire the sacred mystery and possibilities of allowable touching between girls...

Aika is Maika's older sister, and is very protective of her. Aika's voice is normally very calm and trustworthy.

  • (Overjoyed) I'm so happy! Maika finally has friends!!

Kōichi is the older brother of Maika, and he is more of an airhead when compared to the rest of the Sakuranomiya family. We'd love to hear different takes on Kōichi's voice!

Ayato Kazama

Ayato works as kitchen staff when Akizuki is on sick leave. She is the lead vocalist in a rock band. Ayato is a very humorless person. She takes everything she hears very seriously to a fault, this making her very gullible.

Ayato's a very mature person and her voice should reflect that. NOTE: If you are willing to sing then please let us know along with your audition!(You will still be considered if you don't want to sing!) 


  • (Polite) Manager, can you be more concise, please? All of this ambiguity is confusing me.

  • (Distraught) Maika told me that she can't stand my existence... and that I'm a bother...

  • (Gleeful) Younger brothers are so great... right?
