I am searching for a mature voice to assume the role of a 68 year old lady in and audiobook. The lady is somewhat domineering and feisty. She is the mother of 45 year old twin men, and she is very protective of them. The entire recording time in the completed script will be about 20 minutes. She is talking with the nurse responsible for making her son go bald.
In this audition script, you are the 68 year old domineering mother of twin men in their 40s. One of the men has just gone bald due to a mishap at the doctor's office, and you are very upset. You confront the nurse who is responsible for making him go bald.
"Oh my god! What did you do to his hair?!....What the hell did you do to his hair?! Uhhh! (She asks you if you like the way he looks.) Are you a little goofy or something?....He's bald!....Of course I don't like the way he looks!..Uhhh! (She tells you that she thinks he looks better bald.) What?! You think he looks better bald?! Oh my god! ....You must be nuttier than a fruitcake! (She asks you why you're so upset.) Why am I so upset?!....Miss....he had a full head of hair when he came in here...a full head of hair! Now he's bald! That's why I'm so upset! I think he looks absolutely horrible! Uhh! (She asks your name.) My name?...Sally....Sally Shreefer....(She asks if you are the man's wife. You are a little taken aback because you are his mother.) Am I his wife?.....Are you goofy or something?!.... No...I'm not his wife! I'm his mother! Uhhh! ....Oh my god!...... Miss, I really need to speak to your supervisor right now! I am so angry with you...I can kill you! Uhh!....How is he ever going to get married when he looks like this?! How is he ever going to get a date when he looks like this?! Who's going to want him when he's bald?! Ugh! He looks terrible! Oh my god!"
