Bastard Magic Abridged

Project Overview

A Nonprofit Fan-Based Parody of Akashic Records of  Bastard Magic Instructor.

Requirements: I am looking for talent who is willing to work on a long lasting project and be able to commit time to directed recordings via Discord. If you are auditioning make sure you have a decent microphone and recording conditions. 

What this Role means: That being said we are however looking for people who would be willing to do other projects in the future and the cast of this will be the first to hear about future roles, though we will not force any roles upon you, we merely offer first dibs on future projects. So those of you who are aspiring talent we hope to see you especially try out, as we hope to expand the field of abridging.

This project serves as a talent scouting as well as an abridged series. The Abridged episodes will be uploaded to The channel: Project ParaDax on YouTube. Project ParaDax is a project to get new voice actors a name for them selves and will also be making quality content at a relatively fast pace.

  • Casting

    Well You guys did not make it easy for a couple auditions I even had to listen to out side auditions for final calls. Glenn having 30+ auditions was the hardest to choose. And after having one person's voice in my head all for 2 weeks I didn't expect to choose one of the last day auditions for the part. Congratulations to all Who were cast and to all who weren't Our next casting call will be up on Wednesday for Blue Exorcist Abridged.   • General Audition Critics

    For the most part very well done. I've tried working through most of the auditions and if I didn't comment on yours specifically it's probably because it would just be this: "Many of you have the basics down but with the takes Many are lacking the expression of an abridge. unless the character is supposed to be flat than try to over emote". And second thing to address is keep in mind unless stated otherwise you'll want to cap auditions at 3 takes. With that now address and a little over a week remaining feel free to rerecord any auditions already submitted, just try to remove the old one if you know how, it makes it a lot easier on us.

  • Added in to final roles.

    Was tweaking script and settled on lines for the 2 characters Kidd Glenn and Background Girl. Notes for both roles: #1 Kid Glenn can be voiced by a male, female or other. #2 Actor for background girl, like the other roles will still be on the first dibs list for future abridges.

He is a top-tier magician possibly the best in the world. He is stuck teaching at a school of magic tho he couldn't care less about the students education. His only motivation for anything is women. While deep down he may be a nice guy it is burried very deep so all that people ever see is how much of a bruting asshole he is.

Sistine is a preppy rule following snob who hates her new teacher. And she runs a prostitution ring from within here school. Her tone and personality is up to your interpretation for the audition although she tends to be an authoratarian and agressive in most of her lines so take that into consideration.

  • You show up late, Drunk and probably High, and you expect us to sit here, and I quote, “Fuck each other”. Aren’t you a teacher?

  • Glenn Radars can suck a dick for all I care cause he’s not getting another erection unless I give it to him.

Rumia is an imortant role to the story although she doesn't really have much to say in the first episode. She is a follower more than a leader she is a bit of a dumb blonde as Sistine refers to her as. She does anything that Sistine tells her. Rumia is small and adorable, and holds a deep secret.

  • Come on Sistine, give him some slack. It is his first day after all.

  • Who died and put you in charge, besides isn’t there a teacher for you to be blowing right now.

  • *(Rumia is a sweet darling this line is to test your ability to say things adorably)* "I'm a rainbow popsicle."
