Anthologies of Ullord: Pramod's Request
Project Overview
Plot: While making camp for the evening, Ariana Sulnar, a traveling performer, is approached by Pramod, the god of deception, who comes to her with an offer. The god will provide the woman his blessing, allowing her to hide her consecrated divinity from the world, but in exchange, she must complete a small task for him. A cryptic request, Pramod asks her to find a man she has never met and give the man guidance in his own life. Taking a leap of faith, Ariana accepts the god's deal and agrees to locate this man.
This is the first chapter of a longer story that features these characters. When fully completed, this story will feature these characters and many more by the end of Ariana's quest to fulfill her end of the bargain with Pramod.
Notes for actors considering our projects:
- Our works are all original, paid and we want the best of the best audio.
- We give highest consideration to those with better audio quality
- Auditions with audible reverb, background noises, fuzziness, peaking and the like will be rejected.
- This is because we can always direct your deliveries to be closer to ideal. We cannot show up and fix your interface, microphone set up and soundproofing/treatment.
This means no to:
- Headset microphones
- Phone microphones
- Internal microphones
- Laptop microphones
- If you want a better idea of what we’re looking for or what sort of project you’d be auditioning for, listen to our previously completed works (they are listed on our profile page).
- When auditioning, please do not add any effects to your audio. Cleaning up static is fine (you definitely want to put your best audio forward for your audition). But, if any effects are needed, the audio engineer will do that.
- Do not ask us for feedback during the auditioning process.
- For one, we do not have time to answer every auditioner’s questions about how well they rank compared to others, how they can improve their audition etc.
- We also do not give special considerations or some manner of advantage to anybody.
- We are easy-going, but we are professionals, not doormats. That means we expect you to respect deadlines and to respond to attempts to contact you.
- When we cast, if we do not hear back from an actor within 3 days, we will make a FINAL attempt to contact them. If we do not receive a prompt response we will recast, no exceptions.
- If you are cast, ***record in mono.***
- We welcome new talent who we have never cast before as well as those we have worked with before.
- We believe in transparency and we are up front and honest about ourselves, our projects and so on. Feel free to ask us basically any questions you may have about our works, characters etc.
- We believe in a positive and supportive working environment. Even though this is across the internet instead of actors having an hour in a recording studio, we still do our best to maintain that. With this in mind, how you behave and interact with us will be mirrored.
- Lastly, we [professionally] love our actors. We show them the utmost appreciation and support. If we have a good working relationship with you, then you have a very good chance at receiving future work from us, plain and simple. We also support our actors’ creative endeavors, personal projects and leave recommendations on CCC after a project has been compiled.

A common enough concern...
So, we do not hold character name pronunciations against you in the auditioning process. When the cast is decided, on the collaboration page, a recording of one of us enunciating the names of characters and Ullord-specific terms (or even terms people who aren't as familiar with fantasy) is there in addition to a link to the script. You have no reasons to worry about mispronouncing names. We will correct you as part of the directing process! :) -
The closing announcement
So, as it is midnight in EST, the project is closed to new auditions. Nobody has been cast yet. We just close the roles so we don't keep getting bombarded with auditions after the closing day. No body off-site has the roles either. We are now listening to audio, deliberating and choosing the people who we think are the best fit for the role with regards to the quality of their audio, their voice type and performance. Given there were well over 200 auditions, this will take us a few days. As is our rule, if the person cast does not reply within the first few days, we will absolutely re-cast. No exceptions. And even if you are not cast in this project, we absolutely welcome you to audition for our future projects (we have the next 3 calls ready to go! And the next call will in fact be starting soon after this work is compiled!). And as always, never take casting choices personally. <3 And thank you to everybody who auditioned! We were not expecting this much attention, but this casting call was 300% more popular than last month's. So...lots of you to sort through! We hope to have a completed cast list by the end of the week. Casting may begin within the next few days. And there are not enough thank yous in the world for your interest in our little projects. :)

She is a consecrated performer (singing and dancing). She is very sweet, gentle and loving. Ariana is an indifferent beauty. She is aware that others find her attractive but she often takes measures to avoid suitors (including wearing a ring to indicate being in a relationship). Because she is a consecrated she does have a magnetic personality and is regarded as being desirable by the average person. This usually frustrates her. She, like everybody also has a dark side that includes being cold, ruthless and pragmatic.
She as a consecrated stands out for having an appreciation for all of the gods.
She does not follow regular social norms because of her bizarre upbringing. She follows all thirteen gods of the mainstream pantheon and she is not put off by their appearances on the mortal plane.
Being able to sing is preferred. She does not sing in this particular story (you may feel free to include a sample of you singing, please remember the audition is not for a singer) but will later when she performs or casts spells.
For Ariana, we are open to any voice type. We will instead be listening to performance more than anything.
I am thinking of how to find somebody who I have never met. Who I know almost nothing about. And who the god of deception wants me to find.
What has brought you to the mortal plane this time?
I have been there. I know a noble family of your people, in fact. Pramod assured me that you are a consecrated and that he wants you to go home.

Rythis is a high elf-swamp elf qazzam dam (3/4 high elf, 1/4 swamp elf). He had a rough upbringing, nearly homeless and raised by the thieves’ guild. He was thief growing up as well as a gambler. He learned to play cards and dice early on and used those skills to occasionally make a large sum of money. He was privateer for an extended period of time during his adulthood. He still maintains his thieving skills such as pickpocketing, sleight of hand and picking locks.
He is a straightforward and earnest person (yeah, we know, the thief thing makes this seem weird). He does not like discussing his feelings and does not like to pry into others’ lives. He is a private person and thus he is often terse if not silent. He rarely passes judgment on others. He was never particularly book smart, but is street-smart, logical and observant.
For his size, he is quick on his feet, agile and deft. He was born with the favor of not making the sound of footfalls.
For Rythis we are looking for somebody with a medium to low voice.
Thinking about what happened while you were alone yesterday?
He has no idea he’s a gemstone elf… How is that possible?

He is a scholar and a writer with an appreciation for legends and myths. He is a performer (but does that part less) including oration and singing (which he does only rarely). He has a tendency to butt in on peoples’ love lives, especially his friends’. He and Denorei often do this together.
He is a genuinely kind, supportive individual to a fault. He is a curious, charismatic and sociable person. He genuinely likes other people and sees the good in everybody.
He and Denorei are in a long term relationship.
We’re looking for somebody with a medium voice for Yurius. Singing is preferred but not necessary Feel encouraged but not obligated to include a sample of your singing voice, but do remember that this is a speaking role audition, so that is what will be considered.
It doesn’t seem so farfetched, considering what we know, does it?
Some of us are more protective of her than others.
Of course not. Because if nothing else, they seem to be having an enjoyable conversation.

She is a rough and tumble tomboy. She is a wood elf who grew up on the Aubriss druid domain. There she learned hunting and survival skills. Denorei uses her survival capabilities daily to hunt and trap food for herself and her friends.
She is fairly reserved and soft-spoken. Denorei enjoys traveling and having a more adventurous lifestyle than remaining stationary. With her wanderlust comes site-seeing and exploration of legendary and mythological areas of Ullord.
She and Yurius enjoy discussing their friends’ relationships and occasionally interfering with them.
She and Yurius are in a long term relationship.
We’re looking for somebody with a medium to low voice for Denorei.
We can gather some of the nearby fruits, set some traps and otherwise settle in for the remainder of the evening and night. There should be some small game around here.
I suppose we can meet back here in a few hours at most? Before sunset?
It’d explain why she feels so confident.

She is a fire mage. Her solution to a lot of obstacles is to fight them with fire. Samaya can be impulsive and flighty. She has an appreciation for knowledge, learning and experiencing different things in life. She enjoys aesthetics and has a unique personal taste on what is attractive.
Samaya is an easily-excited ball of energy. She can be highly enthusiastic and loud to the point of being obnoxious.
She is bookish, curious and easily excitable. She does not behave according to normal, socially acceptable boundaries; she will say crass and straightforward things without regards for what is acceptable conversationally. She takes issues with her height on occasion being 4’11 (about 150cm).
We are looking for medium to high voice ranges for her.
Maybe he was fooling you? He is the god of deception after all…
If not she may be wasting her time.
What are the chances Pramod will appear again and tell her that this Bythos man is the one he sent her to help?

He is half pearl dragon, half human. He also qualifies as a warrior-poet (as he both reads and writes poetry in his leisure time). He is a refined person who enjoys literature and being among nature. His mother was a dragon who taught him everything from literature to history to the sciences. This gave him a curiosity and appreciation for learning. His favorite pastime is stargazing and he watches the night sky whenever he gets the opportunity.
He is one of the quieter members of the group but when he speaks others tend to listen. He has personal and romantic insecurities due to his size especially his size compared to others. He is incredibly gentle and caring as well as sagely and wise.
For Kroedin, we are looking for somebody whose voice is deep but smooth.
You do realize the folly of tempting Sadat in such a way, yes?
This is…quite some information to take in at once.
Maybe he has never heard the term before? We are in a desert, after all. Quite some ways from the islands they call home. I do not know how he arrived here, but mayhaps that has some explanation for why Pramod bade Ariana seek him out.

Bythos of the Celestial Sundry

Bythos is a gemstone elf. He was abducted when he was an infant and he was left on the steps of the Celestial Sundry in the middle of the Windburn Desert. He had learned very little of his heritage of being a gemstone elf until his late teens when that information became more readily available.
He was raised by the humans that found him. He was unaware that he is a consecrated until his adulthood. He was a mage that studied every book on magic the temple had. He left the temple after a tumultuous emotional confrontation with his adoptive sister.
He is favored by Pramod (god of deception), Avani (goddess of nature) and Manu (god of knowledge). He bears orange (magic), yellow (protection) and brown (creation) gemstones.
He is observant and reflective. He most often than not is sagely and is not confrontational. He is reserved, shy and gentle. He is often inept when he is put on the spot, but he does well with one on one interactions.
For Bythos we are looking for somebody with a medium to high voice.
That makes sense. And who are we to argue with a god? Take me to my birthplace, please.
Guessing is all part of the mortal experience. None of us know what the gods have designed. And none of us know everything about mortals either.
And you know where that is? You know what I am?

The narrator role reads the text that explains the context of a scene. The conversation between word and sound does leave a gap and reading as the narrator fills in everything so the reader will have context.
The narrator can be male or female and we are open to all voice types.
We specifically look at cadence, an even voice and the reading capability of the auditioner.
The small group of travelers settled down on the verdant side of the desert border. Ariana prepared their fire. They had agreed to take the day to rest before they ventured into the desert. Should they become lost it could prove a deadly mistake.
Pramod watched and waited. He was unnoticed by the mortals present as is his nature. As the god of deception he had a knack for disguising himself and others. He idled patiently as the mortals went about their normal business. And then, when she was alone, he manifested.
From beyond the veil of the aetherial plane, the god of deception watched.
