(Animator Roles Open) Murder Drones: Shellshock, an Animated Fan Prequel: Teaser
Project Overview
Murder Drones: Shellshock is a fanmade 2D animated series based on the Murder Drones show on YouTube taking place during the Murder Drones invasion that destroyed Earth, where JCJenson’s founder and Worker Drone creator, Jessica Clyde “Jessie” Jenson, her two Worker Drones, Proto and Vocal, and the rest of humanity are subject to the Absolute Solver’s devastating effects on both the planet and the resistance’s mental state, with the show exploring the true horrors of this doomsday event and how much was truly lost during the war.
Shellshock will stick to the canon show's horror/comedy roots, replacing most of the more sci-fi elements for lots of grittier WWI-esque imagery mixed-in with ruined/eldritch landscapes. Things like rundown bunkers, navy bases, JCJenson's headquarters, biomechanically infused city ruins, etc.
We're currently looking for animators for a 4 minute teaser, which will later become a 10 minute extended teaser. We already have a storyboard lined up for any animators who want to help out

The characters in Shellshock will be incredibly expressive, with the human characters being able to convey a wide array of emotions. The artstyle and proportions for human designs in this show won’t look too off or unnatural getting beheaded or eaten by the Murder Drones, think modern Pokemon in terms of proportions, animation style and expressiveness, very anime-esque. Inspiration can be taken from the adult humans in the canon show. We already have some character designs for the teaser that are being refined by one fof our artists so you can take heavy inspiration from those as well. The line art needs to be exported transparently

The Worker and Murder Drones will look similar to Liam’s concept art, since it’s already 2D, albeit slightly less exaggerated and fit getting brutally slaughtered. There's a noticeable difference between the movement of the Worker and Murder Drones, The animation should ideally run at minimum 24fps, which is what the frame rate for the storyboards are. The line art needs to be exported transparently

Roughs are in-between storyboards and animation. You'll be responsible for providing the actual animation fluidity. Which will be passed on to someone to do a second pass of it. It doesn't need to contain the facial expressions of the characters or the backgrounds, it needs the actual animation fluidity, which'll be pretty slow paced. The First Pass needs to be exported transparently

You'll be responsible for improving on the first pass' animations, adding in more details, like facial expressions, hair movements, etc. It doesn't need to be on the level of line art, but in a way that makes the characters feel like themselves. It'll then be passed onto the Line artists. The pass needs to be exported transparently

Base colour artists will take the line art and add colour, which will then be passed on to the shaders. I'd recommend looking at the canon show for colour inspiration. The colouring needs to be exported transparently
*Say something you think would fit*
The Shaders will add shading to the animations, I'll let you shade in any style, provided you run it by me first to see if it fits
*Say something you think would fit*
Your role is to add backgrounds to the others' animations. Make sure the backgrounds are both of similar quality and similar/believable art style to the rest of the animations. It can either look quite anime-esque or realistic. There's also a style guide that contains more information that I can share
