Project Overview
"The Anatomy of Boogie Nights" is my analysis of the 1997 film Boogie Nights about the porn star Dirk Diggler. If you want to narrate for me that would be wonderful. The script is under 4 pages long and I plan to make the video around 10 minutes.

Anderson’s script is 185 pages, a lot longer than the majority of screenplays. Boogie Nights soundtrack consists of 42 different tracks ranging from the songs of 19th century composer Lewis Redner, to 80’s bands such as Hot Chocolate and Night Ranger. This was the first time Anderson got full creative freedom on a project after he was basically fucked over during his first film. Given a budget of $15 million Anderson pursued to achieve his goal of making Boogie Nights under 3 hours long as well avoiding the death penalty NC-17 rating.
All these characters share something in common despite their different problems. The fact that they are all caught in the web of porn, unable to live a normal life, or have what they really desire. Whether it’s because of the law, their reputation, or that the person they love doesn’t love them back. The failure of goals becomes common with these characters.
