An Englishman Out Of State: OTR Style Sitcom
Project Overview
Earlier this year, we produced a pilot for our old time radio inspired sitcom! We wanted to create something that harked back to the likes of Jack Benny, Duffys Tavern, Phill Harris/Alice Faye and Beyond Our Ken. Such was the popularity of our pilot, that we've decided to create a series of 3 episodes.
The show follows the adventures of Jamie (Jamie Dyer), as the Englishman makes his way in the USA, with the help of his wise guy pal Bernie (Anthony Fleece). As the series continues, they enounter women, work and tons of tv and radio references. Everything is sewn together by the announcer (Devan Miller), who's hatred of his job, keeps him returning every week. The series also adds Madison (Haley Jay) to the cast, as a southern roommate.

Madison comes across as quite strong willed, even if she doesn't always act upon it. Bernie sees her as being a ditzy blonde southern girl, but she's a lot stronger in character, and can hold her own.

You think us southern girls lack intellegence don't you. You think we're weak, restless and downright ditzy. Well let me tell you mister, i have a degree in sociology, a share in Sony and a savings account from daddy, I ain't no pushover.
We're looking for someone who can do a range of different voices, which we can use for one off characters and lines within the script. For example, a telephone operator, a customer or an agent.
