Project Overview
A 2D-animated short film. It will be around 5 minutes. It's a satirical film that criticizes modern social media influencers as well as Donald Trump when he was a celebrity real estate mogul in the 1980s.
The visuals will be very inspired by 2D Disney movies, as well as old Broadway shows. It will be kitschy and over-the-top.
This is my thesis film for BFA Animation at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
Voice Actor
Junior is the main character of the film. He is a satirical character based on both modern social media influencers as well as Donald Trump when he was a celebrity real estate developer in the 1980s. He has a resonant, masculine tone to his voice. I don't have a concrete idea of what his inflection/cadence sounds like, so feel free to play around! He loved singing and acting before entering the real estate industry, so he is very dramatic and comfortable in front of an audience.
This performance will need a lot of emotional range, since Junior begins the film speaking theatrically and confidently, but slowly unravels throughout the film, until he has a breakdown at the climax of the film.
I need the recordings to be good quality with no reverb, room ambiance, or audible plosives. Please make sure your recording setup is in a quiet place with no echo, and that your mic has a pop filter. Or, if you're in the NYC area, I can sign you into my school to use our recording setup.

Musician
Need a composer for the film's score. The film will be around 4-5 minutes. I'm looking for a traditional pop sound--think classic Broadway, Frank Sinatra, Great American Songbook, etc. I understand the instruments will need to be synthesized and therefore won't sound quite right. I'm just trying to get as close to the traditional pop sound as I can within my budget.

Voice Actor
There are a handful of background characters in the film:
- The Mayor: Any masculine voice will work. He is generally down-to-earth and doesn't take Junior seriously.
- Charlie: Masculine voice, though it is slightly higher-pitched and nasally. He is Junior's closest friend and strategic advisor.
- Caroline: High-pitched, bright, feminine voice. She is Junior's cousin.
- Jaime: Any masculine voice works, though a softer, higher-pitched one could be nice when juxtaposed with Junior. One of the casino's investors. Dislikes that Junior is the CEO and hates his outlandish ideas.
- 3 reporters: They interrogate Junior during a press conference and are trying to embarrass him. One of them needs to be female, but any voice type can audition for the other two.
- 3 fans of Junior: Younger-sounding voices needed. Can be any gender.
- 2 protestors: Any voice works for this. They are angrily yelling at Junior.
