Project Overview
The webcomic 'Always Human' is by Walking North, it speaks of a high-tech future with Nano-bots as the earths inhabitants in which use mods on themselves for various purposes including allergy and disease prevention, or even simply just to change the way they look. It's as if we were put into an avatar builder in real life. The story follows a very flamboyant girl named Sunati who is constantly changing her looks drastically, and a rather plain-looking girl named Austen who is a Nano-bot that cannot use mods and will always have the same look. She is practically human, with burnable skin, a normal mind and the ability to sweat, etc. Whereas Sunati is not. Always Human follows the love that blooms between these two seemingly polar opposites and explores the emotions that truly will always make us all Human.
Requirements for your audition:
- You MUST have a good mic, clear tone and minimal background noise. Computer Mic's or headsets will NOT be accepted
- You must have discord
- Use emotion in each audition! Nobody wants to listen to a monotone character.
- No belittling anybody else's auditions! We've all started somewhere and we're all doing our best!
- Have fun!

Sunati is an awkward, flamboyant girl with a passionate personality. She often doesn't think before speaking, and is very strong in voicing what's in her mind. She is present throughout the entire story. I always envisioned she'd have a medium to deep tone. Think characters like Chloe Price from Life is Strange or Lucina from Fire Emblem.
There's a girl I see at the station sometimes, a girl I can't help but notice. It's not that she's got any fancy mods, It's just that she never changes. I first saw her four months ago, and she still looks exactly the same!
You have every right to be upset! I mean, It was my fault anyway. I made an assumption and that wasn't fair...None of this is fair. Doctors can do so much, so why can't they help you?

Austen is a college student, hard working but also quiet. She can be blunt and sometimes she can be sensitive and has a hard time accepting compliments. She seems to have low self-esteem, and when stressed she tends to lash out on people regardless of who it is. She is present throughout the entire story.
Actually, they can help...sometimes. You know that anti-cancer mod that came out last year? The one everyone was advised to use? I had to get it at the hospital, they gave me drugs to suppress my immune system..and a few days later they applied the mod. I had to stay in the hospital for MONTHS, Just in case there were any side effects...It was so frustrating.
(Sadly, sniffling and crying slightly) I can't... I can't use mods. I'll always have hayfever during the spring, and freckles during the summer, and the same stupid eyes and the same stupid skin. I'll always be boring, and ordinary, and human. I...I don't know why I'm crying. I'm being stupid. I'm going to go wash my face.
Hi, do you remember me? I'm sure you do, I acted like an idiot. Can I talk to you for a bit?
Rae is the best friend of Sunati, they have been best friends since childhood. Rae is fully supportive of Sunati and loves her to death and is always there to help her when she needs help. She's a little arrogant, but not so much that its anything to dislike. She is present throughout most of the story.
Look, I know that was a complete disaster, but don't you think you're overreacting...just a bit?
No way! Sunati, sweetheart, THAT would be dishonest. Don't you get it? You're the type of person who likes new things. You like bright colours and sparkles and theres nothing wrong with that. This is who you are, don't pretend to be anyone else.
Of course I'm awesome, Its a burden I must bear.
Anan is a co-worker of Sunati's. He makes one or two appearances.

Tanos makes one or two appearances throughout the story. He is very passionate about his beliefs and seems to be a friend or classmate of Austen's.

So then...Why are you taking her to a naturalist commune?
Cayli makes a few appearances in the webcomic and seems to be Austen's close friend. They are non-binary, so requirements for their voice could be any gender. What I'm looking for in specific is a high male or female voice. Perhaps something more feminine as Sunati mistakes them for a female.

Are you Sunati? What are you doing here? Are you okay? Oooooooh, did Austen Shout at you?
Cheer up! Austen's furious at the world right now, but once her exams are over, she'll feel better. I'm sure you'll be able to patch things up then.
Yasel is Austen's younger sister and makes a few appearances throughout the webcomic. She fits the typical annoying younger sibling profile. She's extremely arrogant and believes the world revolves around her, and even tries to get people to do what she wants.
*Fake sniff and fake sad tone.* But its a three hour trip. it'll be dark by the time I get home. And I'm just a small, sweet child. Anything could happen to me!
I'm here for Austen, I figuredshe'd be freaking out about exam results being so late. So, I thought she could use *quieter* someone to annoy her, *normally* I mean, a bit of moral support!

Davvi is one father to Austen and a gay lover to Carlos. He's rather serious but loves his family to death. He appears once throughout the webcomic.
(Sarcastically) Wow, Carlos, Thanks.

Carlos is one father to Austen and the gay lover of Davvi. He is hyperactive, pushy and optimistic, even calling himself the 'cool dad'. He appears once alongside Davvi in the webcomic.
*Gasp* Wow, really? This is so exciting, my baby has a girlfriend!
Davvi, its not fair! Austen doesn't talk to me anymooooore. She used to tell me everything! I was always the cool dad, and you were the boring dad.
Our daughter is dating...for the first time ever! And we don't even know her girlfriends full name.
Vish makes a few appearances towards the end of the webcomic and seems to be in a poly-amorous relationship with Sunati's parents, Nisa and Prav. He is rather strong in his beliefs and kinda awkward.
Uh, do you want to talk about it? *Quietly* pleasesayno, pleasesayno.
Sunati, you're not going to die...Well, you probably will one day. Unless we hit the longevity, escape velocity...but I'm sure you'll survive making a call...probably.
Okay, Um...Sunati, you've got this. You're going to call, uh, whoever it is...and if you need help I'll make fake alarm noises and then you can pretend the outpost is flooding and hang up.
Nisa is an important part near the end of the story. She's a sweet, kind-hearted women and the mother of Sunati.
*cheerfully* No rest for the wicked!

Prav, like Nisa, plays an important role near the end of the webcomic. He is the father of Sunati, and rather understanding and supportive.
He's in a meeting...you know how it is.
*Teasingly and jokingly* Nisa, look what living in the city has done to your daughter, she's all smug!
