All the Little Animals Audio Drama
Project Overview
I've written a fanfiction for a little-known movie called All The Little Animals, and I would like to turn it into a recording!
Summary: When mentally slow Bobby Platt runs away from home to escape his evil stepfather who threatened to throw him into a mental hospital to be rid of him, he runs into Mr. Summers, a man who takes the dead animals on the side of the road and buries them.
Having no where else to turn, Bobby pleads for Mr. Summers to take him in. After some thought, Mr. Summers agrees and brings him back to his cabin in the middle of the woods. There, Bobby meets Maddy Bowman, a young woman whom Mr. Summers had saved from death five years prior. Over the course of the next few months, Bobby goes out with Mr. Summers to help bury the animals and becomes good friends with Maddy.
As time goes on, Maddy begins to fall for Bobby more and more, especially when he helps her come to terms with her very harsh past. She finds his innocence refreshing and beautiful.
When Bobby runs into someone from home, he begins to worry that his step-father will come looking for him. Mr. Summers convinces him to return to his old home, and together, the three of them will confront his step-father.
But none of them are prepared for the tragedy and pain they will face as a result of that decision...

Bobby's cruel stepfather. Very deep and sinister voice. Wants to steal the family store away from him. Threatened to put Bobby in a mental hospital if he did not sign the papers. English accent
I assume Bobby has been telling you both stories. He has a lively imagination. People tend not to take him too seriously.
Give me Platts? I've got Platts. Platts is mine. Your running away made that possible. And now you're back, you pathetic moron.
Listen to me. Do exactly as I say. One noise, one twitch, that would arouse anyone's suspicion, and your Mr. Summers is finished. And once I'm done with him, I'll take care of the girl as well. Do you understand?
a mentally slow 24-year-old who runs away from home. He's very innocent and cute and has the mind of a child. He falls in love with Maddy. English accent. Experiment with Line 3. Say it a few times in different ways.

(crying and pleading) Please can I come? I've got nowhere to go! (Mr. S: Do you really want to help with the work?) Yes. Please. (Mr. S: Do you like animals?) I LOVE animals!
(shyly) Yes, it's true. I've been working with Mr. Summers and Maddy. They've been very kind to me and I haven't felt ill at all. Not really. Well, quite different from how I felt before.
(very tenderly, but not meant in a romantic way; said after Maddy wishes someone loved her) I love you.
an old man who lives in the woods and takes Bobby and Maddy in. Dark history of his own. Very kind to the two younger ones. Recognizes that they are falling in love with each other. Scratchier voice due to age. English accent
(quietly, so Bobby doesn't hear) He's a bit slow. But that doesn't mean you treat him any different.
I couldn't kill myself because I knew if I did, then it would be her killing me. And me dead is what deep down she really wanted. I couldn't give her the satisfaction. So…I killed her.
You know, I can see the way you look at the boy. I may be an old man, but I know young love when I see it. You're head over heels in love with him.
Maddy was a very beautiful woman. She had black wavy hair that flowed down to the middle of her back like a waterfall. Most of the time she wore half of it pinned up to keep it out of her eyes as she worked. She always wore jeans, a form-fitting t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers or flip-flops. She had a tiny physique, earned from learning to live on small portions of food and her constant working.
Maddy's breath hitched in her throat. She hadn't talked about her family in five years. She looked up at him and could feel tears form in her eyes, despite her furious attempts to blink them back.
Maddy looked at him as he repeated the words she had spoken to him when they had stood outside in the rain together. With tears still spilling out of her eyes, she took Bobby's head in her hands and pressed her lips to his. They stood there kissing passionately in the pouring rain. The simple act made the first stitch in mending their broken hearts.
a very sweet and kind 22-year-old woman who lives with Mr. Summers in the woods. Has a very sad history. Falls in love with Bobby. Singing is a plus, but not required. English accent
Bobby, we're never going to leave you. I promise. You mean so much to us. We could never leave you.
Rainwater is so pure. As it falls from the sky, there's nothing wrong with it until it touches the ground. It's completely clean. When I stand out here, I feel like the same thing is happening to me. The rain is washing away all my faults and blemishes so that only the good remains.
(fighting back tears) They…they hated me. My mom, my dad, my brother…they all hated me. And I never knew why. I still don't know why. I couldn't do anything right. Everything, everything I did was wrong in their eyes…right down to being born.
