Ace of Space - a quirky ORIGINAL sci-fi comedy (pilot episode)
Project Overview
This casting call is for the Pilot episode of an
ORIGINAL COMEDY PODCAST
“ACE of SPACE”
This quirky retro futuristic sci-fi audio drama is set to the styling and pace of an old timey radio drama from the 1920's with a modern twist.
The overall goal is to cast and test the actors in this pilot episode, to make sure the right VAs are cast to the right characters and ensure that everything sounds good. We will then move forward and record a minimum of 6 episode 15-30 minute in length. These episodes will not be released until ALL episodes are pre-recorded, edited and ready. Upon their completion we will schedule them for release as a podcast on iTunes and many other podcast platforms.
*NOTE: This show will be written while the recording phase is in progress, so there may be down time in between episodes.
**WARNING: This show may contain adult themes and humor. If you are not okay with this PLEASE DO NOT audition!
Please only audition if you plan on sticking around for a while.
- Discord is a must (so you can check in from time-to-time)
- Good audio quality
- Turn in lines in a timely fashion
For the first season all we will be offering is full credits to all VAs at the end of each episode as well as credits and links in all episodes descriptions and show notes. Should the show pick up steam and show promise we'll discuss compensation for your talents and efforts.

**NOTE: The V.A. for Ace needs to be able to voice, Ace drunken, hungover , and sober for inner monologue and thoughts.
ABOUT THE CHARACTER: Ace Novak is a Space drifter, broke, down on his luck, bad reputation with the law and always on the edge of starvation. He's a real piece of work. Selfish and egotistical, he'll take advantage of anyone and everyone so long as he gets what hes after. Novak is known for having a big mouth and his unusual look. His father was obsessed with old western films and raised his family based on the way of living in those movies, so Novak has a rough western look to him complete with duster but lacks that true southern drawl.
THE VOICE: We’re currently undecided an the voice and are looking for ANY interpretation on this character, with or without a southern accent. Give us your all.
*NARRATIVE:
“sit down and have a drink. I’ve got a helluva story for ya.”
*(sips his drink and chokes on liquor)
* in a raspy voice: “smooth...”
*NARRATIVE:
I only had a couple drinks the night before so i was up bright and early that evening. There was a
sand storm, I don't remember the exact day, but it was mid summer. I remember that because it was
hotter than my grandpop’s dick cushion.
*HUNGOVER:
Where is everybody? Is it a holiday?
Tiffany, what time is it?
*FRANTIC:
Tiffany, top 5 things you need for a long space trip

*SHRIEK (No whisper screams. I need a legit shriek)

Tiffany is nothing more than an Alexa or Google Home. So her speech should be very emotionless and kind of automated/prerecorded.
*NOTE: This character is very PG-13, though she doesn't say anything bad, it's clearly obvious Ace Novak is such a lonely scuzball that he modified it to be more like his girlfriend; hence the "Daddy, Babe etc" If this makes you uncomfortable please do not audition.

Fellow citizens of moon f-7. This is your president, Lanford Burnham, I am terribly sorry to inform you all that our home is under attack by an unknown enemy. A high energy laser beam has been spotted on a collision course with Moon F-7. The laser will immediately vaporize our moon upon impact. It’s estimated time of arrival is 10pm tonight.
For your safety I am advising all citizens to evacuate Moon F-7 by 8pm... Thank you, and goodbye.”
