Casting Information

Please follow these steps to audition for AHP:

1. Read over the audition information and requirements


2. Select the character[s] you want to audition for, record their prepared lines, and save them under an audio file titled CharacterName_username, ex “JohnEgbert_TheEndIsNearUs.wav” or “CharacterName_PreferedName”, ex “JohnEgbert_MatthewFinegan.wav”. This will save a lot of time and organization.


3. Fill out the audition form included below


4. Email the files and the form to [redacted] with the subject line “[your full name or username] AHP Audition”.

Casting information and updates will be sent via the email we have on file for you, so please provide one that you check regularly.

Audition Requirements:

• Decent microphone; it doesn’t have to be professional, but generally good quality


• Quiet recording space; minimal background noise and reverberation / echos


• Recording software that can export .wav files, such as Audacity


• Audition reel is NOT the final recording and can be in a different format, but .wav files are preferred


• Must be at least 13 years of age, though most characters are older than that, at least by the end of the comic


• Must be at least familiar with Homestuck, to avoid too much confusion


• Must be available for callbacks via Skype; times are flexible


• Reliable internet connection


• Current contact information (If we attempt to contact you and you do not respond, you will not be cast)

Notes:

• If there’s a character you want to voice who has not yet appeared, please feel free to audition for them, even if they are not in the act we’re currently posting audition calls for. We will accept them at any time. Do be aware that you may not hear back about that role until it’s time to cast it.


• Do not vary from the script! The only leeway is the narrator voicing image descriptions.


• Older / alternate versions of characters will share actors, preferably, but should have more mature / different sounding voices


• Voice descriptions are suggestions, not requirements


• Main voice actors may be asked to voice extras, such as consorts and carapaces


• Please be aware that this project will take quite a long time. 


• If you need to withdraw from the project after being cast, that’s fine! You’ll still be credited for what work you did and the role will go to an understudy. Don’t worry, there won’t be any random replacements. 


• This is completely not for profit, and we cannot afford to pay you in anything more than gratitude, but you are more than welcome to use this project on resumes or the like.
