A Romeo and Juliet Parody

A Romeo and Juliet Parody

Project Overview

The scene from Shakespeare's great work of Romeo under Juliet's balcony. However things do not go as expected, and the time has changed into a modern display of this classical event.

Blank Page Studios is working on making a few shorts for its YouTube channel, and one of the first projects it wants to undertake is this parody. We are still looking for the remaining characters to be filled up so animations/artwork can be done. More information will be shared via request after submitting your audition(s), and wish you the best of luck!

Romeo, one of the main characters in this parody. Much like the play, film, etc he is dramatic and full of love/hope and all that other "mush". He is a young man, and if you are able to do the European accent he is typically shown to have then please do so.

  • Lo, what light from yonder window breaks tis the east and Juliet is the sun.

  •  Oh, it's thee Crudio, I'm trying to attract the attention of the most beautiful girl in the world.

  • No, Crudeo, I was looking on the melon stall and she was across the aisle. Twas love at first sight.

Crudio, one of the main characters in this parody. He is portrayed as the modern guy who constantly references things in the modern age, pretty much forgetting the time period he is in. Has that swagger, chill, cool dude way of talking.

  • Whatcha doin Romes?

  • Well, you better get on and requite it then before someone else does. Instead of just hanging about in the street why don't you text her?

  • Good point, well made, bit of a bummer that. I know why not shine a flashlight at the window to attract her attention.

The Chairman/Introducer is the one who will open up the parody with the brief overview. The lines provided are the only spoke lines that he/she is given. However if you wish for more than provided, you may say the actions within the parody. Such as "Romeo enters" or "Crudio turns to Romeo".

  • English playwright Mr William Shakespeare, our drama group will be demonstrating

their versatility by presenting a previously unknown work of the Bard. We take you to outside No. 69 Via Vienetto, in downtown Verona, Italy, where it appears our hero is about to speak.
