a Knock on the Door to the Universe (Original Animation) ~Female Voice Needed~
Project Overview
a Knock on the Door to the Universe is an original animated short film I have been producing. It features the mental state of a young woman after a car crash she feels at fault for. I am looking for two actresses to play the two main characters. However, there is one very important detail about this role. I do not want them to sound like character. Rather, I want these characters to feel and sound real, despite this being animated. I know this is especially difficult for voice actors to do, however it is crucial for the atmosphere. As well, if you intend to audition for either of these roles, make sure you posses, or have access, to suitable audio equipment. I do not expect anyone to be recording off of their phone. Clair has just lost a friend, and feels responsible for it. Let's just say her voice isn't filled with happiness or enthusiasm. She isn't completely lifeless, but her voice is filled with the feeling of something lost.

Can't you see...can't you see that I've had enough of this...this feeling of...I can't spend the rest of my life chasing your memory. It hurts too much.
And so we look into that ever expanding universe. The shining lights that are there, in front of us. There is nothing that divides us, nothing holding us back but ourselves. And we stay, we-we sit and we look at it like it's so far away from us. But it's right there. All it takes is that one knock, that one thing that we can grab hold of, that can pull us up, and push us towards the door. And when we open it...everything becomes clear. The entire sky, the entire world below it. If we just do something about it instead of just sitting and waiting for nothing. A nothingness that seems just as expansive, but is nothing more than empty space. We can't put everything that we have into a hope that one day there will be a tiny, glimmering light in that darkness. We have to make it ourselves.
Clair's friend is only a figment of her imagination, so her personality is not so expansive. She is energetic, encouraging, but sometimes she can show a serious side that brings every feeling to a sense of reality.
That's a bit dramatic, don't you think?
I'm not a ghost...I'm not any kind of spirit that's haunting you or helping you. I'm just nothing. An image you kept of me. A distant memory. A part of you that already knows what you need to do.
You don't need to let me go. I will always be here, with you. But you should move past me, leave me far behind you, and walk. Open that door and walk out of this room. You have the entire universe in front of you. Now I am only a memory, you may as well make me a good one.
