The Keeper's Compendium

Project Overview

The Keeper's Compendium

"Though its pages are tattered and its binding cracked, this old tome holds a large collection of tales and legends, collected from all corners of Azeroth, Draenor, and beyond. Tales of great acts of heroism and even greater acts of evil."

ABOUT THE SERIES
Written, directed, and produced solely by RavenSylpheMachinima, The Keeper's Compendium is a mostly one woman endeavor to explore the lore of the World of Warcraft. Inspired by machinimas such as Tales of the Past II & III, is going to be a collection of short stories, written in some form over the last 12 years, made into a machinima series for all to enjoy.

ABOUT ME
I, RavenSylphe, have been creating World of Warcraft machinima since late 2009. Though most of my portfolio is filled with music videos created for amazing parodies written by talented singers and song writers within the WoW Machinima community. Outside of machinima though, I've been writing, and writing a lot, short stories mostly, centering around the lore of World of Warcraft and my own characters. Mid 2015, I decided to try to take these stories and create something more with them. With The Tales of the Past machinima movies as inspiration, I started converting these stories into scripts, and so the Keeper's Compendium was born.

ABOUT THE CHARACTERS
There are many characters that make up the stories contained with the Keeper's Compendium. Some are good, some are bad, other lie in the gray spaces in between. Some characters are recurring, existing within arcs that will be explored and featured many times throughout the series, intertwining with each other on many an occasion, as well as having their own stories told separately. Humans, orcs, elves, dwarves, and more, their stories being told, their memories being explored.

AUDITION INFORMATION

  • Currently unpaid

  • Some characters are only around for a chapter, while others will appear in multiple. When auditioning for a character marked as a recurring part must be willing to commit for multiple videos and will be readily informed once lines are available for their character again.

Congradulations to Nessy and JC (aka triplethreat) for being casted as Ceara Ilthien and Bard Falkson!! "My family has always sought to learn more of and from the past. Funding and leading expedition into lands that haven't been touched in centuries. We seek to learn the untold an forgotten stories of this world. For the past has much to tell, we only need to be willing to listen."

The keeper of the compendium, the chronicler of tales, and the main protagonist of the entire series, its driving force, and most important character.
ABOUT
Ceara Ilthien is the daughter of STormwind nobility. Since her grandfather's time, the Ilthien family has spent much time and coin on funding and leading expeditions to discover and unearth the lost and forgotten parts of Azeroth's history. When the mists parted and Pandaria was open to the world again, Ceara was quick to take up the opportunity to explore this once isolated land and discover its secrets. After some time there, she became well aquainted with the Lorewalkers and found kinship with its members, soon joining their ranks.
With a deepened thirst to explore and discover, Ceara returned from Pandaria to seek out and record the stories and tales that tell this world's history.
Ceara is very kind and well-mannered. Most would think her unintelligent by her mannerisms, her naivete, and blind enthusiastic optimism, and inability to say 'no.' What they don't see is the cunning behind the warm words and bright eyes. She is charismatic and determined, with a touch of cunning that allows her to influence others with her sweet smiles and charming words. She has a kind, caring and generous heart which makes her well loved by her staff and the pack of orphans and stray she has invited into her humble estate. Her kind and generous spirit, and what seems to be a complete lack of ability to say 'no' to anyone, has caused Ceara to be walked on and used many times in the past.

THE VOICE
Ceara's voice is very important. While still very young, Ceara had a light, but mature voice, a young woman wise beyond her years, and her voice reflects this.

BUT CAN SHE SING?
Ceara is one of the few characters in the series that will require her voice actor to sing. Not in a musical way, The Keeper's Compendium isn't turning into a Broadway feature. Ceara is, however, a bit of a bard. There will be moments of rest, whether in a tavern or on the road, where our heroine will grab her lute and sign ballads and turns to cheer up her traveling partners.
  • •  When submitting your auditions for Ceara, along with your lines, include at least a couple examples of your singing. These can be covers or originals, just so long as I can hear a good range of your voice.

  • [friendly, concerned]"You're as ready as you'll ever be. Glad to have you with me, but do me a favor? Stay close. That way, we can protect each other."

  • [sheepish, chuckling]"And the less said about that, the better. Now, wipe that smirk off your face, and let's go enjoy the last warm meal we'll be having for a while!"

  • [furious, on the verge of tears]They'll die if we don't do something! Did your sense of decency abandon you along with your conscience?!"

The closest, if reluctant, companion of the keeper of the compendium. The snarky, self-centered, charming rogue...err, hunter.

ABOUT
Bard was found as a baby abandoned in the wilds, and was raised by a nomadic group of hunters. He founds himself alone again after his clan was wiped out by orc marauders. For ten years, he went on a rampage against the Orcs, dealing severe damage to their numbers in the Eastern Kingdoms. He became well know, and well feared. But his rampage ended suddenly and quietly. In the ruins of an orc encampment, beside its dead mother, Bard found a wolf pup, orphaned by his actions and his rage. As his parents before him, Bard took the pup under his wing so that they might find a family in each other, side by side in that cruel world. Bard swore never to kill out of hatred again.

THE VOICE
Bard's voice is very important. Bard is a man who grew up in the wild's and still calls the wilderness home. His voice is deep and smokey like a campfire, his tongue and temper as fiery as the flames, quick to spit insults and sarcasm.

BUT CAN HE SING?
Bard is one of the few characters in the series that will require his voice actor to sing. Not in a musical way, the Keeper's Compendium isn't turning into a Broadway feature. His companion, Ceara, however, is a bit of a ...bard, and as they travel together, Bard feels inclined to join in on her ballads and tunes.
  • •  When submitting your auditions for Bard, along with your lines, include at least a couple examples of your singing. These can be covers or originals, just so long as I can hear a good range of your voice.

  • [snide]"Oh, I'm sorry, Princess. But if you were looking for someone to lick your boots, you're going to have to look elsewhere."

  • [irritated]"What is it with you that you feel this incessant need to delve into things you should leave alone?"

  • [Angry, yet relived, near tears]"If you had gotten yourself killed, I would've found a way to bring you back, just so I could kill you myself for being so stupid!"
