“The Acorn Princess” is an LGBT-friendly fantasy romance produced by a team of 8 third year students at Sheridan College. The film will be approximately 5 minutes long, and is schedule to begin production in January. We’re looking for voice talent for a colorful, lighthearted film that escalates to a brief but emotional climax.

SYNOPSIS

Princess Cornelia and the Flower Prince have been betrothed for as long as they can remember. The two have grown inseparable...as friends. Cornelia pines for the heart of the guard captain, and the Flower Prince is involved with another in secret. On the eve of their wedding day, the pair dread what may be the end of their lives as they know it.

But just as the ceremony begins, the villainous Beetle crashes into the chapel to steal away the Princess. Before the King can send forth his guards, the dashing Flower Prince challenges Beetle to a duel, wooing the crowd and securing the safety of the Princess. Cornelia slips away amidst the chaos, and the Flower Prince fights his way to the balcony. The door slams shut.

Outside, Cornelia, the Flower Prince, and Beetle drop the act: the whole thing was a ruse to escape the wedding! The three fly into the air with the King in hot pursuit, determined to save his daughter. Will Cornelia and her friends escape the wrath of the King with their freedom?
