This led to loving not just the sound of "BBC English" but all accents within the UK, the accents of other cultures, and the awareness that respecting a language is the cornerstone of respecting a people. Writing speculative fiction, typically sci-fi or fantasy with an tinge of horror to it, is my other purpose. Building stories I want to hear, populating them with people and cultures not given as much voice in the West. Currently writing the haunted, alternate-universe/urban-fantasy novel Fogwreath, YA series Cryptid Kids, and television pilot that's Fringe meets The DaVinci Code.
