ETAN, Male, 31 years old

Etan is a wise-cracking engineer and warrior. He is fun-loving, always on the move, doesn’t like following rules, but deep down, he is constantly worrying. He tries to deny it, but he has a noble heart and is prepared to sacrifice himself for the cause.

Etan is Maelle’s (below) guardian and foster brother, and they have an affectionate family relationship.

Vocal quality: charismatic, lively, sincere / caring

ETAN and MAELLE wander through a street carnival, surrounded by a boisterous crowd, singing, dancing, laughing, playing music and games. The energy is slightly manic, revelry tinged with grimness.
MAELLE
These people are giving me a headache.
ETAN
Has anyone told you you’re a grump? It’s a party!
MAELLE
(dryly) It’s a funeral.
ETAN
Technically the funeral part is tomorrow. Come’onnn! Enjoy yourself a little. It’s our last night in Lumiere.
MAELLE
Exactly. And I’m wasting it surrounded by idiots.
MAELLE
You’re my guardian. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful. But. It’s not the same. I don’t belong here. This place is...it’s stifling. I know the odds are shit, but living free, really free, outside the dome, even for a few weeks or months? Sounds a hell of a lot better than nine more years stuck here. But it’s not like that for you.
ETAN
(grimly)
You have your reasons for leaving, and I have mine. Can we drop this? We’ve been over this before and we’re just going in circles.
(back to teasing)
You think you’re stubborn? Well I can be stubborn too.
Battle Dialogue - Nevron attack

Maelle, behind you!
MAELLE
(loud grunt / forced exhale as she lifts sword to block an attack)
HUU-UGH! FUCK!
ETAN
(roar as he charges in to help MAELLE)
EUU-AAHHH!
LUNE
(summons her spirit animals and commands them)
TAKE THEM!
SCIEL
(steadily shooting arrows, urgent / intense but not frantic)

Hi there! I'm Richard; I do voices part-time. I've been actively doing voice acting for the better part of a year now as a part-time gig, and in particular have done indie character work, custom narration, audio-drama, among others. I'm British (native Scottish, but the accent has been watered down a lot from travel!) and can perform a variety of accents, from neutral American to English to Scottish to French. I am also a fluent French speaker and can perform comfortably in both languages.

My voice is naturally mid-deep and harsh-sounding. I am able to perform a variety of growly, snarly, and monstrous-sounding voices (available in demos on this page). I am not averse to screaming and grunting (and in fact rather enjoy it). Among the roles I have played, there are:

Scottish dwarves (naturally)

Snarly crocodilian monsters

Affable british middle class

Middle-aged space pilots

Snarky american college students
