Maria Nearl, a young knight from Kazimierz and younger sister to Operator Nearl, has experience with knight sports and has demonstrated excellence in combat across a variety of tests. She now serves as a Defender Operator alongside Operator Nearl, as per her wishes.
The younger sister of Margaret Nearl and the niece of Zofia Whislash, Maria became the Nearl family's matriarch and Knight Primus after Margaret's exile due to her Oripathy and her uncle Młynar's refusal to succeed Margaret to continue the Nearls' legacy and ensure that the Nearls retain their knighthood. Despite her lack of experience and the challenges faced by the Nearls from the harsh competition within Kazimierz's competitive jousting scene, Maria faces the arduous path ahead of her with a light of optimism. After dealing with the conspiracy against the Nearls and meeting Margaret again during the current Kazimierz Major, Maria decides to join Rhodes Island to follow Margaret's footsteps, adopting the codename "Blemishine" (likely derived from "blooming shine") to reflect her immaturity (when compared to Margaret's "Radiant Knight" title) and takes a special liking in weapon craftsmanship and modification with R.I.'s Engineering Department. Blemishine is the protagonist of the Maria Nearl event.

Rhodes Island's operators are way more like the ancient knights in the novels than the competition knights. In fact, I've been pretty obsessed with these knight novels for a long time. Knights, enemies, adventures, and treasures. But anyone can get that stuff from knight sports, so they're not as big as they used to be.
