Joan is the detective of the story. She is young and unsure of herself. She has high functioning autism, so her lines will most of the time sound like she is struggling to sound professional. She's distracted easily and not good with on the spot decisions.

  • (whispering to herself) So that was the last anybody had seen or heard from Silas. But… who was Silas talking to?

  • (avoiding eye contact, clearly nervous) I think it would be best for both you and your mother if you met me tomorrow at Silas’ house.

  • (less nervous than the previous line, but still anxious) I’m afraid you are a prime suspect. I’d like to take you in for questioning.
