The main antagonist of the first book, though he doesn’t reveal himself until near the end. He’s a giant monster that tends to eat children. He had planned to devour Marla and then tries to make her is apprentice. All of his text is typed in caps because of his large body makes him seem to have a loud voice. However, he is rather calculated and maniacal with how he talks. He becomes a good guy in the later books.
You do not need to talk loudly or with a booming voice, this is something that shall be edited.
“MARLA…SO YOU CAME? Splendid. Javis was right, I can smell that you are more than meets the eye. You’re very special, and I bet that you are oh so delicious.”
(almost annoyed) “Crying? That’s not going to help you.”
(flustered) “I-I’m not sure what you’re rambling about.”
“Eat her? that’d be a waste. How many times do you come across such a rare jewel? Even I wouldn’t dare play with those chances. No. I don’t want to eat her. I want her and what she has to offer.”
“If I can’t use your power, then yes, it would be a waste. But if I can’t use you, then what’s the point? You’re better off to me dead.”
“I don’t understand. What is going on? Stop crying! Answer my question and stop this foolish rambling!”
“I’m scared. What’s going to happen to me now? I am going to be in so much trouble for what I have done.”
Firstly, you have a really nice voice and a good range. Both of your auditions were really good, but maybe not quite what I was looking for with the respective characters. Actually, the voice for Criston could work for Barsol if you remove the "dark" sound and added energy. I think, if you used a more natural version of the voice for Criston, it could work for him. You might also have a fitting voice for Boothrey or Metol (maybe Coal) if you're interested in checking any of them out (or really check out anyone that might take your fancy). Thank you for the comment on those performances, and I just looked over those roles and took a liking to Barsol and Coal in perticular, though am not afraid to give Boothrey a try. Is there anything else you would like to note about their mannerisms, speech patterns, or dialects that you are looking for. Maybe even subtle references. The help would be greatly appreciated.
Glad to hear your interest! For Barsol & Coal, I would say practically the opposite advice for each other. Barsol needs to be over the top flamboyant and dramatic, but still with a deeper set of vocals (so kinda like what you have for Criston in regards to range). The best example I can think of for him would be how a lot of Let's Players tend to voice Mettaton from Undertale. With Coal, most of it needs to be devoid of emotion, though there is wiggle room for sass or aggression here and there aside from his more softer and tender lines. Something rather stoic but still formal and strict (again, aside from when there are dents in his armor for his sweet side).
